This is the nicest non-collection VA I have been to. It has amazing views over Rosebank, and is really modern, well kept clean, and has most (if not all) machines you could think of. The only con is that it gets really busy during peak times and finding parking is sometimes a struggle.

Love it!I love a nice clean and neat gym. This one does not disappoint. It is very spacious with aLovey pool and loads of difference areas to train. The staff is always very helpful and friendly. The equipment is fairly new and well maintained. It is always clean...The best is there is an amazing view across the city to take your attention away from the pain...They sell day membership for approx £20 per day! Well worth it!

Always clean and tidy. Friendly staff. However no hot water in the showers last visit (found out when I was in the shower).

Great gym, clean, safe and has all machines and equipment I can think anyone would need, however Virgin Active in general has been Offline for more months than I can even remember now and so nothing online works correctly, app is unusable and I have had billing issues as a result. (Still offline, to date)

There swimming pool is enjoyable and there is enough space to gym. It doesnt get full.

The gym is new and modern but space is a concern. Gets crowded fast. Find that staff is not always available to assist on the floor. Its not easy to navigate around as there are too many walls and columns.The Sauna & Steam rooms are still not in operation. When I queried, they told me that they are waiting on government to approve their request. Only then can they switch it back on. I am not convinced.Gym fees are expensive and we are paying full premiums, but however we only have half the service. I think virgin active needs to half our premiums as well.What do you think?

Greta facilities, outdoor area, pool, specified studios. The equipment is new and up to date. Great shower and change rooms. They have a health food bar too, which services great food and smoothies etc. Parking is free under 2 hours, but parking can be tough in peak training times. Conveniently located near the Gautrain and business centre.

Just visiting from cape town and very impressed with the gym. It’s got quite. A big space and is quiet over lunch time. They have a very modern look and feel and have everything you need to train. The staff are personable and friendly with a professional attitude. Would definitely come here again. Highly recommend

The gym should invest in a sound proof for their yoga room. Whats yoga if you can hear all the noise from the gym. The gyms capacity is not that impressive, i honestly expected more from a virgin active situated in Rosebank 🙈makes me wonder how things are under normal business operations.

Very nice Virgin Active. Came here due to my regular VA being over capacity. Sections are divided up clearly and it was relatively easy to find my way around the place. Parking is convenient and free (for 2 hours).

Great views! Awesome instructors! The only thing that has often been a huge disappointment is the Nü cafe in the gym. On a few occasions the coffee tasted burnt and the food wasnt prepared well. Also the staff are unfriendly, which is a bummer unfortunately. Wish this could improve soon because I go to Virgin Active almost daily and its been this way for a while.

Great facilities which are always maintained and kept cleaned management

Fully busy most of the (peak) time, especially in the evenings -ie: gym size and equipment cannot accommodate all people exercising at the same time. Weights aren’t put away properly.

It is an ok gym compared to other Virgin Active branches....reasonably kept. If you like small cozy clubs you will love this one.

Great gym; however as other gyms, very busy during the peak periods. Large layout with ample machines and work-out areas. The HEAT classes are also awesome, especially Wednesday mornings. Best to book in advance as the classes do fill up quickly.

Star quality gym! I am absolutely in love with it. It has amazing facilities and great equipment. Friendly staff and instructors. So clean! Outdoor yoga garden. Steam rooms. Swimming pool and sauna among other things. Its amazing.

This is a very well equipped gym. The views from the studios, pool and running track are stupendous! It can get very busy and then some people dont respect others space or equipment.

Bad Customer service from the sales person Deny and his Manager Eugene, wrongly signed us up without sorting out our previous membership.

State of the art modern gym. I dont like that I get charged parking. I find it difficult to get a class and some circuit in and get back to my car in 2 hours - normally missing the mark by 10 minutes. Otherwise a world class gym.

Really nice gym and the facilities are well kept. The staff on the other hand leaves a lot to be desired. I was overcharged when I renewed and never got my refund. Additionally, was asked every time I went to provide ID despite them photocopying my ID at least 10 times. No one there seemed to know how to do their job, except for the cafe staff.

A decent sized gym with ample equipmen outside of peak hours. It gets far too busy for the amount of equipment they have during the busy periods of the day.

Awesome gym! Amazing views from the 7th floor. Modern, clean and well set out. Pool is epic. Staff a great too. WiFi painfully slowly however :(

Lovely views, good facilities and an inspiring atmosphere for a workout - they even have a nü restaurant there (too healthy for my liking-food tastes like paper) - only 2 issues for me with the gym:1. It gets quite full2. The design of the showers leaves for little privacy, oh - on the privacy note , there are only 2 change rooms for the ladies and apparently none for the gents.

It’s a nice virgin active, although I do feel the layout is a bit strange, I often find myself spending a lot of time looking for things instead of working out

A really great club. The parking is a bit of an issue cause if you gym for to long you need to pay. However the facilities are great and up to date. Even though the gym is very busy you rarely wait for a machine. A lot of cardio equipment! Only wish the pool was bigger and they had a Kauai instead of a Nu. But great club and nice staff.

Is this the best gym ever? I always look forward to coming back to JoBurg to be spend my days at Virgin Active Rosebank. Everyone is so friendly. There is such a beautiful cultural blend. It is amenity rich without any pretentiousness. The Nü cafe inside is delicious and also super friendly staff. I spend my days going back and forth from working out to working on my computer in the lounge with beautiful views overlooking JoBurg. Every class I’ve done I’ve loved. Great yoga. Only thing I don’t understand is the gym culture norm here around having to bring your own towels for showering - I’m used to that being provided, but talk about first world problems like woah. I’ll live. / crowded af if you come at peak times but during the day it’s super chill.

Virgin Active Rosebank is a great club. I’m enjoying the classes and the lounge section.Suggestion: the staircase being accessible if you don’t want to use the lifts

A beautiful gym, but too small for the masses of members that go there. Their change-rooms are especially tiny and they dont have a wide variety of equipment due to the floor size maybe? If you are lucky enough not to hold a full time job, visit them during off-peak times for the best experience.

My phone got stolen after I accidentally left it at the cross trainer. I went back for it a few minutes later and it was gone. They refuse to show me the footage, I dont understand how a phone just disappears in a gym with staff and cameras.Please keep your valuables safe even if you are leaving the machine to get water, take your valuables with you as the cameras at the gym are useless.

Great location, modern setup, very young, motivated, ambitious attracted people. Only catch is you only have 2 hours to gym and change, as you pay R10 parking if your over. There isnt enough showers, and changing space as its smaller than old Eds. But the views are height amazing !

A gym with a view- not referring to the sweaty men women and children coming in and out: every month it looks like another building is coming up in the Rosebank node which if you are a nerd like me is quite fun to watch from one of the Watt bikes

My go to gym, always machines are available, the trainers are fabulous, and the classes have solid instructors. Mornings can get busy but you can always find a spot if you want to do some weight training as well.

The best place to swim indoors at sunset! Unfortunately the lanes do get busy quickly around that time, but the simmers are always willing to share the space. Cant speak to the gym equipment or classes. The service at Nü leaves something to be desired.

Great brand new gym with the most fantastic stunning views!!! Slightly lacking on some of the weightlifting equipment however has everything else in abundance. Really close to everything!

Excellent standard of cleanliness and maintenance. Reception staff were busy chatting to each other and didnt even acknowledge me coming in but overall still very good.

Taking a work trip to Joburg almost left me unfit and eating lots of takeouts. Glad I found this club nearby and they had all the facilities that I was used to at my normal gym. The convenience of a nü at the gym was an added bonus.

If you need steps on your activity program, heres the place to go! Countless shops with more around every corner. Pleasure to go to.

No parking, drove around for 15 minutes, last week, no machines to use. Obviously the company oversubscribes and dont care much for the clients or if you are able to use your subscription. If theres water theres no parking and vice versa. And terrible hygiene, especially considering it’s mid-pandemic.

This gym is great. The pool is a treat - secluded(ish) i.e. you dont have a level above you spectating. The view of sunset from the pool is out of this world. It can be quite busy, but its generally exceptionally clean, and the staff are friendly. I cant recommend Monique (my swimming coach) from Aqua Athlete enough - if youve thought about using the pool - shes the one to encourage you!

The gym is still new. The equipment is also new. It does not get too packed. The only way to access the gym is by a lift.

This is by far my favourite Virgin Active health club. The equipment is great, amazing outdoor area and the pool has a great view of Johannesburg.

A very pretty gym with new equipment and nice views from the seventh floor. The only thing is that it lacks equipment for training your back, such as no T-bar row and no chest supported row machines.
