SHOP HERE AT YOUR PERIL. Absolutely disgraceful customer service. I will NEVER purchase again from this store (nor, in fact, from any Matrix Warehouse store). Two weeks ago, I purchased a SSD and 8GB RAM from them (not inexpensive, incidentally). I brought along my virtually new laptop to their store, so that the SSD and RAM could be installed simultaneously. One of the technicians installed the purchased goods (once again, not inxpensive installation cost). I used the laptop for two weeks, and only yesterday discovered that the laptop chassis was not sealed tightly. I took the laptop back to the store for them to seal the laptop properly, and was advised that the chassis was in some way broken and would have to be replaced. I was obviously annoyed by this, as it was clear to me that this was caused by the technician who had installed the SSD and RAM. The store refused to accept responsibility and seemed to suggest that I broke the laptop chassis myself.

I took my dads laptop in which had stalled and needed a reboot and or a new Hard Drive. The guys at matrix were great, first on the phone and when I went in. Friendly straight forward service. Lucky the techy had a look at the laptop and confirmed that the Hard drive needed replacement. He helped me choose a new one within my needs and budget, and did the replacement while I waited. Excellent and efficient. The laptops is up and running again.

I must say I am dissapointed in the customer service at the Cresta shop.After going there to buy a wireless mouse (with a 1 year warranty) I bought a mouse (Baseline brand). The guy at the till was not friendly or helpful or did not seem interested in helping me AT ALL.He was actually annoyed at me. So I went inside the shopping centre and opened my mouse out of excitment and to my dissapointment found out the mouse was grey (the box is deceiving because it does look more black than grey) So I went back immediatly to exchange it and buy a wireless mouse that is much more expensive. Unfortunately the same guy helped and just said I damaged the box and cannot refund it for a more expensive mouse.So I took this mouse home and decided to use it. As I expected it is a piece of crab. When you press the left side button to copy stuff it clicks and gets stuck and does not come back.(It is really annoying!!!) So I will never again buy from you guys. I am too afraid to go and ask for a refund because I have damaged the box.

Its a small branch, but the guys are very helpful. They stock basic cases and components, they can order in and can carry out repairs.

Most of the people working there arent very technically competent, but Armand is really good. Prices are as good as youll get from a box store (can often do better online), but the specials they occasionally run cannot be beat. Selection is okay, but they are really good at sourcing even very difficult to find things.I recommend them for people who want something quick for a good price without a ton of searching for days on the internet. Just make sure you speak to the right person for quality technical support.

Not a fan of the Cresta branch. Watch out, they increase their prices above the great of the Matrix franchises. And not great after sales service.

Cresta branch is not so good. Didnt fix my students laptop after I referred her there then it became my problem. Ill just go for the specials not to fix anything....

They generally know what theyre doing and are pretty clued up on pcs etc as you would expect them to be but be careful how you buy your stuff, always consider the buy first and make sure the salesman is not just trying to get a sale, it happens to a lot of. People, I dont like to. Name and shame but just be careful of laptop purchases from here, I now know 2 people who have complained about a purchase there

Id give lower if I could!They refused to give a refund for a product bought one day ago. I had the slips and the product was in the same condition it was bought.We bought an vga to hdmi adapter for my screen and it is only compatible for a resolution of 1080 and my screen has a resolution of 1336.After they tested and confirmed that it wont work for my screen, they refused to give a refund. They wont have my service ever again! Im avoiding this branch like my grandmothers cooking!

Great, friendly service. Bought display cable to hdmi for R160. Very reasonable (usually over R200). I can even bring it back if it is not working. Highly recommended!

They are not clear about their return policy. Tried to return an item and they refused it on grounds that I opened the packaging the wrong wayEdit: the company got back to me on twitter after I @ed them. Asked me to go to their Belair branch. I guess the message is: avoid the Cresta branch!

I had a mixed experience here. On the one hand the staff are extremely friendly and informative, but on the other hand they are not very organised and punctual.I took my laptop in to see if they can get a replacement battery for me. They said that they would get back to me, it has been more than a week later and still nothing from them. When the technician tried to close my laptop he found that he had lost 3 screws to close the back panel. I saw this coming since he was working very messily and the screws were all over the desk. We managed to find two after 20 mins of looking and one seems to be lost, these screws are very difficult to find replacements for.Anyway, after one screw missing, a lot of time wasted and still no battery I ordered the battery from Takealot and Matrix has lost a customer. I understand it takes a while to get a message back from the supplier, but they can at least make an effort to contact the customer and let them know what is happening.

Visited the shop on Saturday 30 Feb and was assisted by Charl. The information he gave was reasonable, but not not outstanding. He promised to supply me with a quote for a selected range of items via e-mail by Monday 29 Feb. It is now 1 Mar (21h00) and I have not received any quote...This is the type of service (or the lack of it) in SA which puzzles me time and time again! I am planning to buy for more than R10.000 and the shop does not even bother!!!It wastes my time and input, and the business is losing money...

Some items more expensive than they should be. Staff very helpful and friendly. Not a very big store so keep in mind they may not have what youre looking for. Overall a good experience.
