The tranquility of the pizza bar and café is very soothing. Sitting under the trees listening to the water fountain and eating a delicious pizza gives the sense of being on vacation. Wide variety of pizzas available, including vegetarian options. The menu also includes other café style foods. The service is excellent. All COVID-19 protocols are adhered to. Its very popular so ensure to make a booking. The nursery is well stocked with everything from flowering plants, succulents, vegetables and fruits. Parking on the premises is limited and most patrons park in the adjacent street. Nursery staff are friendly and very helpful.

Lovely nursery that has recently had a facelift and is looking beautiful. Good range of plants at decent prices and you can generally find what you are looking for (if not, just ask and they can often order something specific for you).Do wish they had a nice range of big/bulk seedling trays.Staff are very friendly, very knowledgeable and generally a pleasure to deal with.They have a nice koi selection as well.Havent visited the restaurant in ages, but its looking great.

An absolute gem of a teagarden situated in a plant nursery. Food is scrumptious and service is friendly and professional. Added bonus there are numerous little stores selling from antiques, second hand books to bric a brac. The selection of plants is awesome 👌. Worthwhile a visit.

I had the chicken pie, which lives up to its reputation as the house special.It has ramps for accessibility but they are a little steep, especially the one leading to the toilets.Parking is a problem, particularly as they have opened a venue for hire.An enjoyable venue and you can also shop for plants and gifts

Under the Trees is a wonderful restaurant in a magnificent garden. The food is great and the service friendly.

A well stocked nursery for flowers and herbs and all manner of garden ornaments and accessories. Under The Trees is really under some lovely tree shade. There is a good menu for light meals and beverages. There is also a good craft beer available.

What a magnificant nursery, tea garden and restuarant...with so many places having closed as a result of the pandemic, Schafflers have survived...thank goodness for that. Its the first time I have visited and what an absolutely great place with such a fantastic vibe...You just have to get there!!!

I plan on coming back soon.From my first experience (2019):•The service was excellent!•The food was scrumptious ♡ The pizza I ordered had enough toppings and the base was crunchy but not hard to bite into. I cant remember what i had for dessert, except that I loved every bite of that too!! 😅•The plant variety here is diverse and well stocked.•I loved the restuarant decor, and the setup was creative and spacious.•Didnt use the bathroom facilities so I cant comment on that.

Beautiful nursery where apart from finding tons of plants, flowers and herbs you can enjoy a breakfast and buy art. You can also buy pond fish such as coy and goldfish.The feeling of just going into a place full of plants and trees is just amazing and so relaxing, even if you dont plan on buying anything.We got treated very nicely by the vendors, just at the coffee place they werent very nice since they were close to their closing time.

A wonderful place to relax outdoors (or indoors if you prefer) and enjoy a bite to eat in a beautiful courtyard, under the trees. Highly recommended.

A lovely Sunday stroll through beautiful botanical bounties. Purchase a green fingered gem or two to enhance the garden or just appreciate the diversity of stock. Well worth a visit if not just to cool down on a steaming hot day under the mist nozzles.

This is my favorite place in Johannesburg. An eden in the middle of a busy city. Restaurant has great pizza and the nursery has so much variety of indoor plants, outdoor plants, healthy seedlings, etc.

On two occasions we have been to Under the tree restaurant, as their FB states they are open. Closed. No b indication of status. Travel for no reason. Last week it was opening this Tuesday, today its opening on 12th.

I had the privilege of stumbling across this place thanks to Google Maps. What a beautiful little outdoors hub in the middle of an urban locale.You will feel at ease as you wonder the tranquil nursery isles.The tea garden is a peaceful haven and the menu offers something for everyone.The plants in the nursery are well priced and well looked after.There are a few novelty stores selling clothes and antique items and old books too.A very relaxing space.Will be back.

Delightfully quaint and intimate garden setting. Breakfast was quite the best, home-cooked and freshest ever! Eggs scrambled to perfection, very fresh salmon. Everything on our plates was truly tasty, something not easily found & we do eat out very often. The baked cheesecake was moist and delicious. Great tasting coffee too. We will definitely be back to taste the popular chicken pie!

Today we visited. The vibe is chilled, the setting is superb and the food Delicious. We ordered pizza. Mine gorgonzola and pear. Perfection in every bite. My bet had the Marsala pizza. The staff here is quite helpful. We had an middle aged man help us with our pebbles and all. They arent a big nursery but they have enough of everything and an acceptable variety to keep you coming for more.

What a lovely spot! We stopped here to buy a gift plant and ended up staying for a while. Theres small but well stocked nursery. The grounds feature lovely water features and theres a beautiful restaurant with outside seating under trees and in bamboo glades, a gift shop, book shop and clothing store too. The owners were on site and along with their staff offered friendly accommodating service. If we lived in JHB wed be regulars here! Kudos to the family that own it!

Great environment to be in my son enjoyed

Wow. I was so disappointed in my experience at this place. Having seen this place and the lovely reviews on Google, I wanted to try it out for the first time with my family. The scenery is beautiful and the food quite delicious. However our waitress was rather rude and uninterested. Really dampened the whole experience for us. Poor customer service, really think we wont be coming back again.

Great Value for Money, and incredible food. Great portions and a wonderful setting.

The only place in the country I would even consider eating a salad.... Course it would only be the grilled chicken salad. Cakes are pretty decent too and the environment is SUCH a relief for anyone sick of eating while looking at some parking lot or traffic jam astge and nly view most Jhb restaurants have. Get there!
