We hosted a few folks at home and wanted to do a Braai (Barbecue for those who don’t understand South African lingua ). Mufunwa Wanga recommended this butcher. I got there around 9am and the lady Mazibuko was more than kind, caring. She advised which meats are suitable for a braai. She also gave assistance on how to Spice up the meat and which seasonings to use.I left there feeling great about my purchase. We followed her guidance and the meat turned out well and the guests loved it .

Still for me the best meat you will find anywhere in Joburg (maybe even South Africa).Doesnt matter if it is steak, chicken, wors, roasts, mince, biltong.A few years ago we also lived on their frozen meals and they were well priced and delicious.Absolute gem in the area that I hope more people will support during these tough times.

I have lived in the area for 30 years plus and this has always been our fallback place for meat, especially dry wors and biltong. They also have a reasonably wide selection of imported products in addition to speciality meats like rare roast beef various hams and cheeses. I know that have won best biltong in jhb multiple timesRecommended and I only give 5 stars in exceptional circumstances 🏆

A lamb on the spit function 1 December 2018, a full success thanks to Hans and his team. Talk about raising the bar! Despite the many disclaimers about power supply being the hosts responsibility, the morning of our function we experienced load shedding from 8am - 12 noon, with the lunch function time to eat at 13h00. I called Hans and explained the predicament, he very calmly made a plan and cooked the lamp spit at them and delivered cooked and carved succulent, heaven tasting perfect spit braaid lamb to the function at 12h45 in serving dishes. Would highly recommend them for their service and flavour. Will be using their services again.

I love the food I love the meat and the treatment is amazing.

I heard that their biltong was good so stopped by. Assistant refused to give me the fresh stuff and directed everyone to the prepacked stuff. When he did touch the fresh stuff he did not use gloves but touched it with his sweaty hands. Never again

Their bulk packages of meat are the most cost effective options, I have had no complaints about the quality of meat. I did not find mature rib eye steaks when I was last their, unclear as to why it was unavailable, maybe due to popularity, but still a disappointment as the trip from my home is costly at over 6km.Apart from that I find the selection of meats to be varied and comprehensive.

CATERING: Had an event over the weekend, where Sloane catered Pregos for me. Everything was perfect. The gent who helped with the braai and cooking of the pregos was very friendly and helpful, the setup and sauces were great, and the food was amazing; the rolls were SO FRESH! Received compliments form every one!Oh, and their Biltong is amazing!!

Their meat is always excellent. I needed all my meat to be vacume packed which they were more than happy to do. And of course, they sell the very best billing around.😁

RAW LAMB AT THE HOT FOOD SECTION!Preordered Lamb Ribs. I was told they are ready. I drive there (takes me maybe 10/15 minutes) to get told they are not ready and will be in 15 minutes. After waiting for at least 30 minutes (more like 45) I was handed pale fatty ribs that barely had any meat on them. I could literally see the other ribs were better and yet when I requested for them to replace the pale ribs the response was that They are all like that . Honestly one of the worst experiences I have had with any butchery or shop in general. I was not helped. And I wasted R50 on a meal that I cannot even eat. I am not someone who just hops onto the net to bad mouth brands but in this case I feel like Sloane Meat Market has acted very poorly today and I intend to make that clear.UPDATE: THE RIBS ARE RAW. I REALLY HOPE I DONT GET ILL FROM EATING RAW LAMB!
