My journey with LAMPROBE..... I have a 35+ yr history of needing electrolysis for fair colored facial, neck and odd chest hairs. It’s a familial issue probably hormonal. After taking a 10 yr hiatus from trying to deal with the problem, which was always JUST keeping the problem at bay, the hairs returned with a vengeance.I then met a Janine in 2017. Since the first 90 minute treatment and studious follow up appointments, the thick coarse very stubborn fair hairs on my chin and long tough ones on my neck are a thing of the past. I would have treatments every 2 weeks for 60+ minutes and I can now manage every 2-3 months and only require 15 minute touch ups. I sought Janine out, after conducting extensive online research, to remove a lesion growing on my eyelid. The lesion in question had manifested on the edge of the eyelid, in what is conceivably the most difficult part of the body to treat, as it had wrapped itself over the margin of the eye (mucus membrane at edge of the eyelid), and I had become quite self-conscious as a result. Prior to meeting Janine, I had visited several Doctors and was told that the only solution would be invasive eyelid surgery, in hospital, with almost certain scarring, and a prolonged recovery time, and as such the risk seemed to outweigh the perceived benefit. From my research I noted that Janine has decades of experience with this type of lesion and is also the importer and distributor on a new generation of device called the Lamprobe, which treats a variety of skin disorders, in a non-evasive manner. I visited Janine, and was immediately struck by her warm and friendly manner, underpinned by a sense of confidence and professionalism. She inspected the lesion, and advised that she would be willing to remove it, but needed a GP to administer local anesthetic to the area, which in itself is a delicate procedure. Amazingly and without hesitation she consulted a network of Doctors, all of whom were personally trained by herself, in the use of the Lamprobe. The same day she confirmed that one of the Doctors was “onboard” and she scheduled the procedure for the following week. I was suddenly filled with hope, and despite being fearful of the procedure itself, I was excited at the prospect of having the lesion removed after several years. On the day of the procedure I was filled with trepidation, but immediately upon meeting Janine at the GP’s office, she put me at ease with her calming manner. The Doctor administered the anesthetic, and Janine set about the procedure, which took no more than 10 minutes, essentially a non-event. Janine’s follow up after the procedure was equally amazing, continuously making sure I was okay, and requesting pics and info. The entire experience, from start to finish, was amazing, and I later found out from the Doctor, that Janine had accepted no payment for my procedure and had instead requested that her fee be donated to a cause related to the current COVID 19 pandemic, even though her own business had been closed for 2 months and she had generated zero income herself! I am a very critical person by nature, and don’t easily provide praise, but I can easily say that I have never felt more appreciation for a medical professional than I do for Janine, she is truly fantastic, and would highly recommend her to any of my closest friends and family (which I already have ).Varian van Reysen
