Ive been a loyal customer to this store for two years now... my son loved their cakes and so we used to order. I used to collect and drive with their cakes all the way 70kms home.This time the cake was too soft. Almost like the mousse did not set... in my opinion it was not put in the fridge for long enough.They say it was put into the fridge for 2 hours. 2 hours???? Mousse???? Thats not what i would have thought to be reasonable for a tall cake!!!!Then they accused my husband of possibly driving badly with the cake. Thank goodness i have discovery insure, who monitors driving behaviour-i logged on and saw that for like half an hour my husband was driving 20 and 40 and 60...No harsh events were noted from the time he left their premises but within 10mins of that he called to tell me the cake was sliding.They are sadly unfair and said now that the boss said it looks like we dropped the cake! How would we have dropped the cake while driving???? And if it dropped... why would the second and third layer slide rather than just shattering itself...And why now... after two years of loving them... would i complain?We are honest people... we are accountable for our actions... and if we damaged the cake... we would have known.We would not say oh maybe u drove bad... then be proved wrong, then say, u put mousse in the fridge for two hours between two heavy layers of cake and expect it to hold.Posted a picture... u can clearly see how smooth the mousse is because it totally slipped off. Looks nothing like a dropped cake... ill post pics of cakes that are dropped ... ull be the judge
