My breakfast was horrific, the eggs were burnt and rubbery. The sausages tasted funky.Definitely not worth the experience, do not expect to go out for breakfast that I could make at home that is 10 x better.Complained to the waiter and all I got was sorry boss with no further action.Will not be back here.

They charged me R15.90 for a glass of warm tap water with lemon. I dont understand how they can charge that especially when other restaurants offer tao water for free. It truly left a bitter taste in my mouth.

I was not at Fornos, but I have been and like it very much. Very good coffee and, of course, the pastries. Breakfast there is also great. Service is excellent.

I ordered a pizza from Uber eats twice now - the first time they didn’t deliver and said they were out of pizza bases. The second, they simply didn’t deliver and said nothing, while I paid full price.

I think this was honestly the best breakfast Ive had in a very very long time. - Our waiter (Mpumi Moyeo) was EXCELLENT. Extremely friendly, well dressed and well mannered - Didnt get any part of our order wrong, treated us with utmost respect and priority.Whilst sitting, i had a look around and noticed the cleanliness of the Shop. Everything on its place, not one fingerprint on any of the glass. I was honestly astonished by the fact not one of the waiters were untidy - nones shirt untucked, nones hair untidy or out of place, each and every one of them had a name tag on.Thats not even to mention the food. My orange juice, freshly pressed till the top. My fiancés cuppochino just as lovely with cookies on a separate plate, well presented and no leakage around the side or in the plate. The food was AMAZING! - my croissant was so fresh and fully filled, awesomely presented aswell. My fiancés breakfast was just as delicious and presentable, no overflowing oil on the breakfast either.No, seriously. Well done, you definitely deserve your rewards👍🏼

Fournos Woodmead is ideally situated off Woodmead Drive. The service is efficient and friendly, offering a selection of health conscious meals throughout the day. There is an indoor and outdoor section with easy free access parking right infront of the establishment. Great selection of baked goods as well to choose from.

My husbands vanilla birthday cake was 70% cream it crumbled at any cut due to the abnormal amount of cream in between the layers... couldnt even cut a decent piece for friends, very dissappointed.

Bakery looks good but their restaurant dont deserve half a star. Buy a pizza and you get FREE freaken flour to eat. And yes, ensure you ASK for the staff for anything, like..to sanitize AND wipe your table clean before you sit

One of my local favourites for sitting down, having a coffee and catch up with some friends over some amazing food. With a wide selection of baked goods, desserts and pizza this fournos in particular has an awesome selection. No doubt, you will have a hard time deciding what you can squeeze onto your plate or youll have to come back to try everything else.

I guess the 1 is for the hot coffees.Other than that, service is pathetic and the Owner Dimitris attitude sucks.

Food and service was good

I had the worst dining experience last weekend. We waited over an hour for our food and the restaurant was not busy. When the food finally arrived it was cold and the fries were hard and undercooked. It really wasnt a pleasant experience

I was disappointed with a hot chocolate that looked white, when I tasted it, it was fool of sugar and not the chocolate. The salad I received had green lettuce on top and brown leaves under. The standard here are dropping seriously!

Slow Slow breakfast service, cold food

Visited 01/05/2019Bees on every pastry, its probably not going to kill anyone who eats them but its unappetizing to say the least. I was served milk with a shot of espresso and no foam, the waiter insisted that it was a flat white. Upon showing said waiter a picture of an actual flat white, I was told that the patterns in the foam could only be achieved by a professional and that the only way Fournos could achieve this was with cocoa powder. After sending the flat white back I was brought an equally terrible cappuccino (pictured), Im not exaggerating when I say theres better coffee to be found in a McDonalds McCafe... The deli food is also nothing to write home about.I suggest getting properly trained baristas and investing in pest control.

I have been buying and dining at Fournos for years. Of late the standards have dropped drastically. I bought apple pies and as we were eating them we found that they were terribly moulded, completely covered in green mould that was only hidden by the crust. I don’t believe this was an oversight, needless to say I will take my business elsewhere.

I went to Fournos Bakery at Woodmead Retail Centre and what terrible service I received there. The attitude from the waitresses did not make me feel welcomed. I ordered my breakfast and there were two waitresses at the main counter who seemed busy on one of their mobile phones with something personal. As I was paying for my order, the attention was kept firmly at the phone and their personal conversation. I was told my food would be ready in 10mins. I walked out then decided to come back and order a coffee or something with my food. I asked about the takeaway cup sizes and for the menu. I was shown the cup sizes, given the menu and then left as she had to go back to the phone and their discussion. While I waited for them to finish up so they can take my order, another waiter came and started preparing a tea order around me. First he put the tray in front of me, came back with a saucer, then a cup, then a teaspoon etc, all the while, didnt seem to acknowledge my existence. No hello, no excuse me, nothing. An elderly lady walked in and the two waitresses at the counter stopped their conversation, she was greeted and they even had small talk. She walked over to the cookies and biscuits section and the waiter who was making tea around me was now with her, every step of her making a choice, joking and smiling. I was still waiting to place my coffee order. I eventually asked for my order to be cancelled and my money refunded. The first waitress seemed stunned and asked why, as I was explaining, she screamed out the name of who I assume is the manager (turns out, it was one of the waitresses who were deep in conversation at the counter) she came back, I continued explaining my gripe, she too seemed stunned. A third waitress who was standing a distance away yelled out, Whats happening?. The manager screamed, He is asking for a refund. She responded, Hawu? Why?. All the while I was standing right there!!!I am never ever going to that Fournos again, and if anyone asks me, I will be more than happy to share my terrible experience there.

Went for breakfast and turned out I also ended up buying a takeaway pizza, yummy vegetarian one. Turns out I did not want eggs for breakfast after all. But the cappuccino was great and the service friendly and efficient. I did go inside to see what was available but did not buy anything as it would have been standing in my car for a few hours. I will visit again.Just for info I walked in wearing legging, T-shirt and sandals. No impact to service.

Shocking service. Can you really mess up a simple toasted sandwich? Asked for brown toasted cheese onion and tomato. Came on white bread first time. Sent back. Received next one looked like it had been dropped on the floor. Not a generous portion by any means. Bread was broken and only one piece of hard onionskin . Unacceptable. Manager took it off the bill but it was still awful. Waitress still asked why there was no gratuity. We asked for 3 glasses of water. She brought us a glass bottle of water and then charged R14.50. Did not clarify if tap or bottled. She did not even serve us our meals. Attention to detail zero. Never again!

Fresh pastries, awesome vibe. However, cinnamon & raising croissants could do with more cinnamon.. and if youre a coffee connoisseur, dont order a filter coffee.. rather opt for an Americano or a Coke. Overall pleasant experience.

I have been going to Fournos Woodmead for a long time and they know me there. I something has changed and starting to feel the managers and owners dont care anymore. There are BEES all over all the sweet as you come in the doors. I cant even buy anything from the sweet table without getting a bee sting. Today was the worst I have seen it. I want to get a pecan nut pie a small one and there was bees buried in them that I could not take any of them. Can someone please have a look at this. Even the fruit for the smoothie are covered in bees. You are going to have big problems if someone get sting when going to eat something without seeing the bee.Please look into finding away to cover the food or get something to get rid of the bees.

A very busy noisy atmosphere but good service food ordered was well presented and it was what my partner and I ordered. A touch on the expensive side but isnt in these days of high taxes. Altogether a worthwhile brunch experience. Id do it again and again.

Terrible Service and over priced, went there today and noticed they have re-vamped their store. The lady who was supposed to be helping me was more interested in chatting to her friend than assisting me. Their sausage rolls seem to have shrunk even smaller and cost R5.90each!!! I dont mind spending the money for great service and excellent food. But sub par service and very average food that is over priced is just ridiculous.

Bakery and restaurant. Big selection. I had a pepper steak and a chicken and mushroom pie. Both pies had a good serving of very tasty fillings and good looking pastry. Only problem was that the pastry inside was a little undercooked and soggy. At R18.50 each they were OK.

Waiting 20 minutes plus, no service. Hosts running around like headless chicken. Disappointing

Generally a happy experience. Today was marred by the change of the channel on dstv. The owner/manager changed it back to what he was watching. Disregarding us paying customers from watching what we wanted in the restaurant. Then he sat in his phone the entire time. Todays date: 22/07/2017. Disappointing. Ive started frequenting fournos lately and thats because of their well priced and nice food. JHB has seen a rise in food prices and going out has become costly. However, with fournos around, you can be guaranteed a breakfast that will not damahe your bank balance. The fact that this particular one was crowded for breakfast is testament to my review. I recommend this place for families. If you want peace and quiet maybe go somewhere else.On that food itself, I believe they do breakfast well. Im not sure about lunch and dinner though as Ive not had those. They also have a heavy focus on pastries and their egg based breakfasts do not leave you hungry unless you choose to be.

Cakes are now very expensive but the quality is hasnt changed. There is also very little to choose from.

We have been coming to Fournos over the last 2 years for functions within the family and friendship circles and weve noticed an intense dip in service delivery.Firstly, our table was so cramped that some of our guests had to stand or go outside so that it could be a bit roomy to eat.Secondly, the food took about 50 minutes to arriveThirdly, Management didnt seem unsympathetic to the fact that our food was so delayed.Fourthly, the amount of flies on the dessert was not attractive at all so we gave that a skip.Lastly, the waiter was a trainee on such a massive table and whilst he had good intentions he was overwhelmed and had no assistance from a senior member on one of the biggest tables in the restaurant.Now whilst I understand that its Mothers Day and its a very busy day for restaurants so wouldnt you think that youd amp up service delivery on these days because of the volumes in which youd expect on days like these even more so because the Mugg and Bean closed down.Its unfortunate but we will not be returning anytime soon which is a pity because you actually had a beautiful establishment somewhat 1 year ago.As disappointing as it was I hope that you do improve your service because you have great potential.

Standard operation, good breakfast..not blown away. Not spoilt for choice with the menu...in a highly competitive situation between Woolworths Cafe and Mugg and Bean as neighbours. A bottomless coffee option would be a smart move!
