Cool spot. Friendly staff. Reasonably priced. Just be aware that there are strict on time slots. If you book from 12 to 2pm for instance, and rock up at 1pm then you will only have an hour to paint. I think the spot could use expand... by selling drinks...fizzy drinks and coffee... or even wine at certain times.

What a fun activity. Whatever you want to paint. However serious or fun, you can do it. Stencils and inspiration images provided. Great for the whole family. The paint colour palette is limited but it challenges you to get creative.

Wonderful entertainment to keep your inner child more than satisfied. Lots of paints, colors, stencils, brushes and paraphernalia to ensure the best outcome for your artwork.Lots of parking within the building and not difficult to find. The staff is friendly, and always ready to assist. Only issue is that it can get very crowded and might need to wait to use certain equipment.

Ralph Waldo Emerson once said - “Every artist was first an amateur”The amateur in me went out with family to try out art-jamming. It all started so well, with such amazing ideas and artistic vision. Then Brush and Paint started. There is magic between brush, artists and paint which I have not yet figured out. Then one has to remember colour science and art , what mixes with what to get what colour?. As soon as I applied the paint and dance with the brush then all of a sudden both legs and arms are left handed. I can see it yet I can’t bring it to life. Artists are such Gods gift to mankind.Let me plagiarize the great Nelson Makamo artist extraordinaire and explain my no so great work using his words“In my work, I reflect love , the movement of culture amongst lovers , the youth living in and around the city. What I mean by this is that we adopt different cultures that pertain to our different ages, and we are constantly performing those cultures. I am greatly fascinated by being/existence, and the movement between different personas . I also explore the ability to pass through different stages of life. My work therefore does not represent a certain group of people, it actually goes across. I use emotive mark making which symbolizes movement. Lines are the most important thing in my work. I use line to give my work life and to represent motion”

I thoroughly enjoyed Artjamming. My sister, being the more artistic person, loved it even more. It was such a therapeutic +/- 4 hours of letting the artistic juices flow. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Lee showed us around. Everyone has the option of tracing an image onto their canvas or drawing freehand. Theres the paint splash section as well (super cool - doing that next time) The one downside is that had we not called prior to our visit after seeing this on The Entertainer app, we probably wouldnt have been able to go through. Apparently bookings via The Entertainer need to be made 2 weeks in advance, which does not state on the app. The email address provided for the Melrose Branch is incorrect - it is actually for the Head Office. Hence nobody replied to my email for over 2 weeks. Nevertheless this is an awesome spot. For both kids & adults. PS just dont pour too much paint, which you end up wasting. You can always go refill.

This is the most serene way to reset your tranquility button, to unleash your right brain, to become minutely focused on the art of painting. Loved every single moment. We realised 90 minutes in that we were not even talking to each other, no one even looked at their phones. It was in the zone concentration that is rarely experienced. An absolute must!

Another exciting day out with the boys at Art Jam in Melrose Arch. Opposite Rocco Mammas, quite easy to find. Facilities are clean and sanitized, staff are friendly, patient and very helpful, they also play great music. It was our second time and both my sons (11 and 8), thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff are learned and there are a couple who artists as well so they definitely know this business. They even assist with drafting images for you, making it easier for the kids to paint something they love and will cherish more. This store is unlike the V&A one I reviewed last months, they dont have much art supplies on sale like the Cape towns one. Definitely worth taking the family for a fun and creative time out.

The experience was enjoyable. But while using the drying station the hair dryer exploded in my hand, and I now have a horrible burn on my hand! One of the staff members mentioned to me that they have been begging the owner to replace the hair dryers. I used it straight after a 5 year old and happy it was me and can’t imagine if it was a little child. BE CAREFUL!!!

This studio is a little smaller than some of the others I have been to so I would call in advance to make sure they have space for a session. But staff were helpful and experience was enjoyable.

Very disappointed with the condition of the paint brushes... All worn off and not enough sizes of brushes...Otherwise all else is tops..But remeber u cant get the effect u want if u dont have right paint brushes

Absolutely horrid customer experience. You act like you are an art studio in New York or London and guess what studios there are 10 times better and 10 times friendlier. What exactly is the problem? If you cant create a friendly atmosphere for a place that should be carefree and relaxed rather leave the business where you work with people! Absolutely horrendous service!

Something different and was lots of fun for all ages.

Great place to take the kids for a creative morning or afternoon. Can either do their own drawings or copy from the many, many examples that are there. Staff are always very helpful

Explanation of using the entertainer should be clear when your customer called to make a reservation, train your staff to inform better to avoid confusion. And, also train your staff to be friendlier towards customers. Not happy at all with the lady at the reception.

Fun family activity...you get to paibt your own canvas. The staff are super jacked and helpful. Its part of the Melrose square, so food and coffee shops all about. My kids and I enjoy it.
