The place is beautiful and pics are exactly as it is stated on the website ... The establishment provided much more than what we expected as it is fully equipped with everything you need - there is no need to bring anything along and all the appliances are in full working order....the only problem we experienced is the bar fridge is just too small especially for self catering where you need to bring all your food for your stay as we wanted to relax and didnt want to have to drive every day to buy stuff as the freezer compartment is just way too small....

Lovely stay and serenity. Beautiful place

We had a lovely 2 night stay. The setting on the dam was so peaceful and picturesque. Hearing Fish Eagles call and Lions roaring nearby added to our enjoyment. The tents are very comfortable, clean, well equipped and lazing in the wood fired hot tub was a treat. We would strongly recommend a stay. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Lovely location,friendly staff and very good accommodation.Fully equipped, comfortable bed, tent overlooking the dam. Beautiful spot and great location as other spots around the area are worth a visit.50 kms to Orpen gate.

It was the second Africamps we visited,we thought the management was more friendly and thoughtful at the Hazyview one.The hot tub was wonderful! The entrance road past the powerlines is not so pretty and the description in the adds is not quite what it promises!

We loved our stay at Africamps Hoedspruit. The staff were extremely helpful. Tents are clean and neat (and does really have all you need for a weekend away).

Great venue, but if you want a relaxing time away don’t do this place. Everyone has a party every night. I sleep better in Jhb.Keep waking me and my family up!Nothing relaxing about this place. Definitely not coming back!!!!To reply back to the owner. Yes they stopped but started up again at 2.30 I did send a sms to your manger but no reply.Saturday about 3 tents where very loud, only after 22.00 they quieted down! And was exhausted from already missing one nights full sleep.Sunday night was perfect, because everyone left!!! but shows you it is more a spot for a party and not for peace and quiet.For the price and drive from Jhb, not worth it!!!

What a relaxing 4 days spent at the camp. Great accommodation, however the fridge size could be improved upon. Fridge is far too small . Fishing was great, provided you follow the rules as laid down by the owner. Will definitely return

We visited Africamps for our honeymoon. We had to postpone our trip due to Covid regulations and the management accommodated us without any issues. The service was great and the staff really friendly. They assisted us in booking for some excursions in the surrounding area, where they picked us up at the tent and dropped us off again afterwards.The place is exactly as beautiful as on the website photos and perfect for a peace, quiet and relaxing breakaway. Most important is to bring loads of firewood for the hot tub and braai. You will need loads of it! The overall experience was great and I will definitely recommend it!

Amazing facilities, very calming surroundings, neat and trendy. The aircon is a real blessing. Everything is in working order. Theres even a mall close by. Id really recommend this place to friends.

Beautiful place deffinatly worth a night if you are in the area

We booked 5 nights stay here with friends (us and another couple). We were 4 adults sharing a tent. There were a couple issues that we feel people should know about:Arrival: The ‘luxury’ camp is situated opposite a caravan park and the owners of the caravan park seem to be the owners of Africamps Hoedspruit. The tents look out onto the dam, but the view is the old decrepit caravan park and it does not give you a very ‘luxury’ feel at all.Fishing: As advertised on their website, there is a catch-and-release fishing dam in front of the tents. My husband and his friend looked forward to fishing, but on arrival the very rude owner came to our tent telling us how we need to use special ‘specimen fishing hooks’ to protect his fish in the dam and that all fishing rods need to be out the dam at sun down. He was extremely rude to us and it gave us a very bad feeling about the place. No where in the booklet or on the website does it mention special fishing times or ’specimen fishing regulations.Toilet: The toilet did not work or flush properly - it was really unpleasant. The septic tank opening was close to our neighbours tent and it was running past their tent and over flowing into the dam.Cleaning & Servicing: The tents are cleaned / services every 4 days. We had ours ‘cleaned’ once during the stay. The cleaning was good, the only thing we found strange was that they came to change the towels on that day, take the rubbish out and sweep. They did not wash any of the dishes in the sink or replace the rubbish bag in the bin.On a positive note, the tents are new and comfortable and clean. We really enjoyed the good quality bedding and hot tub.All in all, we will definitely not be returning. It was quite a pricey experience considering we had some very bad experiences.

Africamps Hoedspruit.I went there with a group of 5 Adults, on the first week of October after being re scheduled to the date due to Covid 19. The stay was never exciting as we thought. Firstly we got there on a Friday afternoon, got the keys from the owner who was down the dam, there was no orientation to the place, we had to call them on their cellphones or use the booklet that was placed in our tent for references. Secondly we had to keep our voices down during the day and night because the owner said we are loud and we should whisper when we talk to each other, because our neighbours were complaining, Noise level was understood but the owner threatened to kick us out if we continue talking and we were referred to as girls no one was under the age of 23 amongst us, on our last day the Sunday, there was no electricity, we phoned and the owner told us theres is nothing he can do because it was load shedding, there was an Old lady at the reception she managed to show us how to operate the gas stove manually so as we can prepare water to wash before departure, but she made it clear that we must be out of the tents irregardless of the loadshedding inconvenience by 10am check out time, there were kids fishing from the neighboring tents during the day as per usual kids make noise when they play, but we still couldnt raise our voices because it was said that we are disturbing parents. The stay was not good at all, Africamps Hoedspruit does not cater or accommodate everyone, it is race and age oriented. They must stipulate in their manual or bookings. They have made it clear that they want our money but our presence disturbs their peace.

It is by far ons of the best places I ever stayed and fished. Super comfortable and super neat right on the waters edge.

Perfect getaway for quality family time. Friendly and helpful owners. Tents clean and tidy. The boutique tent was a wonderful experience. Outside activities prices high, as well as the extra payment for cleaning services and fishing. Apart from that, it was delicious and would suggest it.

Excellent facility, very quiet in the woods, friendly people !!!!

Beautiful tent, super chic, pleasant and comfortable environment. Facing the lake, with hot tub. We did barbecue it was a very special night. There are animals loose around the property. I just regret not having stayed at the place for more days.
