Excellent accommodation. On the river side with nice views of the river full of Hippopotamus. Full of birds and very quite.

We had a blast weekend. Excellent service.

We were so so looking forward to a peaceful weekend in the bushveld. Sadly our experience was dampened by the rowdy neighbors who felt that it was perfectly acceptable to blast music throughout the day and late into the night. Really spoilt our stay. We opted for the more expensive Honey Guide suite as it looked the most romantic and secluded, but there was no escaping the noise from the main lodge. The actual accommodation and service was great, and the manager did her best to stop the noise. Sadly, some people dont seem to respect nature or fellow guests.

Very nice place, quiet, delicious breakfast, enough animals to be entertained daily without looking for it but also safe to walk around. Highly recommended

Very nice place, beautiful views. Did not enjoy the communal kitchen as it is advertised as self catering the expectation is to have a small kitchenette in your room. Did not enjoy walking up and down everytime you want something from the kitchen. Other than that no complaints we really enjoyed the place.

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent 5 day break at Bush River Lodge...... the tranquil views, on your doorstep wildlife, delicious food, fantastic company and awesome kitchen facilities that the Lodge has to offer. The highlight of our stay was by far the Bush Dinner set up beautifully for us in a riverbed in the middle of the bush surrounded by darkness, starlit sky the sounds of the wild...was that a leopard we heard? Thank you Wessels for your friendly and interesting hospitality and thank you to Ursula....a 5 star gourmet chef. We return home tomorrow well stuffed and well rested.

Racists! I would actually give the -0 star. 3 days ago we made a booking 3 nights. The booking is a provision for a month later in december. They said they will need 50% deposit, cool, we made funds available and Today Ones they realized that we are actually black. They Canceled our booking without any valid reason. This is africa, black people are everywhere, My advised to you suckers is that, you must state clear that you dont want africans in your temporary occupied African land!!

The lodge is beautifully maintained and the room was tastefully furnished with a balcony that overlooks the river.Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the friendly staff.

Great lodge and lovely staff. Edwin was courteous and always around to help. Its super quite and has antelope coming in and out so you will definitely see those up close. The management was not great though. Had two incidents where they were rude and not accommodating. E.g.: we requested a late checkout from date of booking and were told to request at checkin. At checking they told us they would let us know, they didnt and when we called to find out we were told check out is strictly 10am. As long as you dont deal with the management and are an early riser you will have a great time.

Very nice location on the river. Unfortunately no animals seen in the river, but many antelopes and monkeys. Room is wonderfully spacious and newly furnished, nice modern look. Bed is nice and big and hard. Bad has a nice view of the river, a bit small with 2 people. The self catering kitchen I found somewhat awkward, you are dragging with plates etc (we went to braai ourselves at our house). You dont have WiFi at our house unfortunately. A wonderfully peaceful environment.

I stayed with my family in late December what to say: wonderful. Lovely place surrounded by nature, with crocodiles passing under our balcony, monkeys and gazelles. Owner very kind and willing to give information and directions, professional and friendly staff. Breakfast and dinner excellent. Great price.Unforgettable experience. We would have stayed still gladly for a few days.

It is now the second time we are at the Bushriver, and it will certainly not be the last. Great food, super service and nice surroundings make this place truly unique. Short distances to both Krüger and other sights. See you!

Price-performance top! Very stylish and nicely furnished. Every day the bed is made and washed and cleaned! Great for young people too.

Great, great place to stay with a very nice host! Would come back anytime. The breakfast is great and it was really lovely looking after us. DO NOT plan directions via Google Maps. The path indicated there does not exist. Directions definitely on the website plan and not be confused by supposedly closed gates :-)

Superb location

Bushriver Lodge is located on the edge of the Kruger National Park on the Olifants River. It is beautifully furnished and has a wonderful terrace overlooking the river. If you are lucky, you can watch wild animals at breakfast. The lodge is run by Wessel, a super-nice white South African who cooks, grills and cares for the guests with all his heart. The blast is Flippy, the dog known throughout the environment with the harelip. He conquers the hearts of the guests by storm. The food is really good and you can drink yourself at any time, you make strokes. Wi-Fi is also available, but of course the quality depends on the available internet. The complex is spacious and there are several guest houses to choose from. Best advised. Wessel is currently learning German fluently. :-)Tip 1: Those who sleep in the national park must be prepared to share their dwelling with spiders, grasshoppers, bugs and scorpions at all times. Anyone who is afraid of this will notice on the ground that, contrary to all the phobias, one merges with nature and does not mind much anymore. Definitely buy Peaceful Sleep against the mosquitoes (first in South Africa), not only because of the malaria, but also because the critters annoy. And definitely think of the power adapter, there is nowhere Euro cans and no reliable Wi-Fi. And in South Africa the power goes out all the time, so its essential to have something to light up at night or use the lamp on your mobile phone.Tip 2: If you want to move through the park yourself, you will miss a lot of interesting information and you will not even find many animals. Anyone looking for a super-competent and funny German Guidin, I can highly recommend Daniela Mates of MaTakaTaka, she has an incredible knowledge and scents animals hundreds of meters. She can recognize almost all birds as small dots and is an excellent tracker. She puts together a tour according to her own wishes. Also for professional photographers intended a great help. Can be found on the internet.
