Highly recommend the Emdoneni Lodge. Staff were friendly, the rooms are clean and beautifully decorated and the food is excellent. We stayed for 2 nights as a family of 4 on a Dinner, Bed and Breakfast basis. Value for money was excellent, getting a 3 course breakfast and 3 course dinner. Great food choices . We did the Cheetah and Wild Cat Tour - getting up close and personal with these amazing animals is a big tick off our bucket list. A definite must see if you are in the area.

Myself and my boyfriend went for the tour guide this past weekend to see all the cats the project had to offer. What an awesome experience. It was R180 per person and you got to be in the cages with the cats while your guide would explain the cats to you . You could get really close up and take some awesome pictures. Kids under the age of 14 weren’t allowed in the cheetah enclosures as they looked like “ chicken nuggets “ and you obviously weren’t allowed to touch any of the cats.Awesome experience and we will definitely be coming back with out chicken nugget soon.

Amazing rehab efforts for several species of wildcats, set in a tranquil, old SA vibed lodge with rondovals, dual head faucets, and thatched roofs. The food in the restaurant is also old school in the best way- freshly made scones with 6+ toppings to pick and choose from, full SA breakfast and omelets, etc.The staff is also amazing: Friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable.Wed go back and stay any time!

We took part in the cat tour and what a experience, our guides Megan and Tymon were really knowledgable and helpful through the whole tour, you can tell they really love the animals having nicknames for some other and pointing out unique characteristics of each cat. The project itself is very important and they are doing great work as cheetah are one of the most endangered animals in the world. Please support them if you can and it really doesn’t hurt that the experience amazing to be so close and personal with these beautiful cats. I recommend visiting during the week and in the morning like we did to avoid sharing the experience with bigger groups but the cats are more dosile in the morning tour cause it’s soon after their feeding time so if you want the cats to be more active Ma uber try the afternoon tour. Otherwise it’s definitely a bucket list experience.

I took my grandson and friends to Emdoneni Cheetah Project. What a great and fantastic experience. Children under the age of 14 are not allowed in the enclosure of the cheetahs, so my grandson was not allowed in. But all the other enclosures are open to children from the age of 4 and up. They have wild cats, Serval cats, Caracals and Cheetahs. The guide is highly-qualified, knowledgeable and very professional, and so are all the other staff we had contact with. The assistant to the guide took closeup photos for me which came out amazing so I am posting them. Please support this very important project as no government assistance are received. We had an unforgettable time with all of you, guys, and will see you in the near future ❤.

We stopped at Emdoneni to view the Cheetah Project. Booking is essential and we secured the afternoon feeding slot (4:30pm). The grounds are home to Wildcat, Cheetah, Serval and Caracal. The cats are well cared for and are in a good condition. The enclosures are large and well maintained. The guide was informative and we had an amazing experience watching the cats feed. Other than the carnivoresthere are also some buck and zebra on the grounds.

A very good initiative and project. It helps to conserve the cat species of Africa. They have guided tours which takes you inside the enclosure of 3 different species of cats. You are allowed to stroke 2 of them and the 3rd specie being a cheetah. You are allowed to go inside the enclosure with the cheetah following all the rules of the guide and you are able to take pictures with the cheetah. It is not drugged in any way and is very aware of its surroundings. A wonderful experience and very informative.

We recently visited Emdoneni Cheetah Project to experience their #CatTour where you learn about the African Wild Cat, Caracals, Servals and the Cheetah. The information provided by our tour guide was fascinating. Did you know that Cheetahs have a genetic bottleneck due to exotic pet trade? These are just some of the interesting things you will learn on the guided tour with Megan and Tymon. By supporting local projects like this we give these smaller cats a chance to be released into parks where Lions arent a threat. After the safety briefing, we had the pleasure of meeting Cinnamon the Wild Cat and her Dad. I had never seen a Kalahari Wild Cat before that loves to eat butterflies. She actually loves having visitors. Then we trotted off to the Caracal Den where we got to meet Diego and his mate. I didnt know that Caracals hide in trees. So next time you are in the bush, please look up.After that we went to see the infamous Servals that are a very rare sighting indeed. Ive only ever seen one in the wilderness at Pilansberg it was hunting Franklin at dusk and it leaped in front of car to catch the unsuspecting birds.Lastly, we cautiously ventured towards the Cheetah enclosure where the two brothers waited for us under the tree. Some were daring enough to pose behind the money apple marker, others just watched these elegant felines in amazement. The tour was a great trip for young and old. We have lived in KwaZulu Natal for years and havent managed to visit this amazing rehabilitation project until now. The tour was probably more educational than some school tours and we strongly suggest that you take your family on an informative outing that will leave you with lasting memories of Africas most endangered cats.

I have mixed views on this location. Yes, it is a rehabilitation centre, so the cats arent here just for the public to pet them. And this is also an educational place, as the guides educate you on the species in the park. But this company has come under a lot of scrutiny lately due to two attacks at the park involving the cheetah interactions. So I would be aware at this place, as it seems that interacting with truly wild animals, not ones brought up domestically, is dangerous.
