Bayleaf cafe is a lovely restaurant, our meals are always delicious. They are not cheap, but well worth it. The menu is diverse and the salads are enormous. Definitely recommend it and will definitely return.

Had a wonderful vegan breakfast here a year ago, it was the only vegan-ish dish on the menu and adapted for us. A year later, today, 6+ wonderful vegan options on the menu, generous portions and clever dishes, friendly and attentive service. A great breakfast/brunch spot and must-do in George.

Beautiful spot, friendly staff.However, on the day we visited we spent 20 minutes deciding on lunch only to be told that they were only serving the pizza section that day (or we could still order breakfast for the next 15 minutes). We proceeded to order the pizza which was really not great and not cheap either.Looking at other reviews its possible we might have just hit a dud on a bad day.

This restaurant is inside a house with a beautiful garden area to sit in. This is some of the best food I have ever eaten. If you are in George then I highly recommend checking out Bayleaf Cafe.

We love visiting Quinton at The BayLeaf. One of us is vegan and the other plant-based and we always book ahead at least a day to give Quinton time to prepare something special which he always does. The pics are from our last visit - a fabulous chickpea curry followed by the most amazing vegan chocolate cake!

Thoroughly enjoyable restaurant in an unlikely area. I actually struggled to find it. The setting was lovely and the food delicious. I was convinced to have the grilled hake which was exceptional. Our other meal was the smoked salmon on rye. I will definitely visit often

Bayleaf Café is a new favourite of mine. Set in an old house with cedar and pine interiors, high ceilings and open spaces, it immediately charms a person and gives a warm, homey feeling. Walk out towards the back and you find a real gem - a stoep and courtyard that has been beautifully landscaped and offers more private settings because the plants create natural barriers.The menu is well planned and my favourite item on the menu thus far is the moist carrot cake, which in my humble opinion is the best in George.The service is friendly and professional, the cook world-class and passionate, and the atmosphere calm and homely. There are some steps, but mostly one or two so wheelchair access is possible. Parking is available on site and in the street. This little Café is very popular especially over lunchtimes and on Saturdays, so it might be a good idea to book.All in all this is a wonderful place to visit and spoil yourself with something good to eat.

A great restaurant in George near the railroad museum. If you take the 12 PM train ride from the museum into the mountains, you have just enough time for late lunch at this relaxing place. The menu is refreshingly creative, including Dutch Kroketten and Morrocan Salad. Non alcoholic beer is available. The outdoor seating area has a fountain. Overall, we truly enjoyed this place and certainly will come back whenever we are in the neighborhood. They close after 430 pm. The kitchen closes at 3 pm, but management is happy to accommodate My requests if one arrives a bit later. Cakes and coffee is being served until closing time.
