Facilities are disgusting. Houses and bedding are outdated. Pool is dirty and full of slime. We stayed for more than a month and they only change your bedding when you ask. They only cleaned the pool after we put in a complaint. The beds are uncomfortable, the houses are small and the fridges/TVs are way too small to use.Don’t waste your money.

Had a lot of fun at the bowling alley with friends

Nice accommodation and peaceful atmosphere. Would be very busy during the festive season. Nice park and swimming pool for the kids. Near to the bowling alley.

A simple, neat and tidy camping ground in the middle of George. A swimming pool helps with the heat and was a real treat after a day in saddle. As a solo bicycle tourist I had everything I needed here.

Our family had a great time playing ten pin bowling and then a round of putt putt. Good facility. Really nice bar with a fireplace for colder days.

Besides the fact that everyone is raving about the bowling which is used by the whole of George so you dont have to stay at Mount View to go there and be prepared to wait more that 2 hours to bowl in peak season.The resort is very substandard for the price, you get an ironing board but must hire the iron, no mop or bucket available so be prepared to hire one as well, staying 5 days and get 1 toilet roll for family of 6, so please bring more along or buy, the Upgraded Chalets are OK but the others are a JOKE for the price. I now understand why this resort does not make the Trip Advisor cut.

Unbelievable place, I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a unique experience. The facilities make you feel like you are in the comfort of your own home....

Staff is friendly.security at gate very proud of his work.the bungalows can do with a make over.it seems that the focus is only on the lifestyle centre and restaurant.the little cottages/chalets is not bad.looks good but also needs some TLC.

Tried to call to find out about booking accommodation and find out activity prices after recieving no responses from their quick contact form online. I explained that I thought their website may not be sending them emails. When repeating my activity request, the receptionist very rudely told me to go talk to the other side as it had nothing to do with them... (angry now as I have worked in accommodation and know that is absolutely no way to treat a potential guest and realizing now that they probably did get my request, but ignored it.) I tried to explain again.. Got interrupted with Call their number!! and promptly hung up before losing what was left of my cool (which admittedly, and ashamedly, was not very much).

Clean budget overnight spot with beautiful views of the Outeniqua mountains. Highly recommended for those only looking for overnight stay.

Very disappointed as I was told they would renovate the chalets but it looks even worst on inside. Outdated bedding, my elderly mom cannot lift up her legs for shower, one small pool for campers & 140 chalets, monkeys still running around and I was told, they were all removed and a 2 plate for 6-7people. Not at all up to standard would appreciate the owners to do much needed improvements or they will be loosing another vaulable customer. For 7nights we paid R15600+

In regards to the Welness World Gym.It is terrible.Machines are constantly out of order.The pool is never heated as it promises and furthermore the staff is seriously unfriendly.Male staff love to offer unsolicited advice.Also staff tend to make you uncomfortable.The only nice thing is the sauna, which is long due for an upgrade. Because its super old and tiny. Takes about 4 people max and is unisex.Also their prices are ridiculous. Its is R220 to join for a single week. But be wary because staff like to scam people into paying more.The price list is added.

With their service I had no problem at all. Friendly staff all around.. But really, they need to upgrade the rondawels and chalets.

We stayed here for two nights the kids enjoyed them,fun place to bring the kids when you camping, kids enjoyed the bowling.

Lovely place for a large group to stay. Some of the chalets and bungalows are in the process of a much needed upgrade.

My husbands family have been staying here for years and this year we booked the bungalows because the chalets were fully booked.We arrived there and the state of the building outside was enough to make me ask for our money back.Paint was falling off, braai area was falling apart, not cleaned properly. Roof looks like it was going to give in at anytime.Inside the place was smelly and dirty. Shower was in a terrible state. Grout was black with mildew. Never mind the creatures that could have been found in there if we had stayed.I am not sure how they expect people to stay there. The lady at reception even asked us to tell 2 of their other guest where we are staying because they were also horrified of the state of the place. Not to mention ladies at reception did not bother to assist us to look for another place to stay. Not cool at all!Luckily we could get our money back and we were now stuck without Accomodation. Thankfully, the George guesthouse community came to the rescue and we can have a safe and clean environment for the weekend.You are losing existing and new clients, you need to fix the place up and check the price that you ask for those places because it is day light robbery!0.000 star rating!

Very clean camp nice setting in GEORGE, level sites. ( to work on the base tiles I would put Rubber Matts while is there not basins plugs in most caravan park and then you big notice please save water ??? Try to shave or eash your face and see how much water YOU wasye CARAVANS DO NOT STEAL PLUGS )

It is very quiet and relaxing. Perfect for a break away from the city hussle and bussle. Friendly community. Shops close by. Major retailers and take aways.

The rondawels are absolutely disgusting, I wouldnt be surprised if there hasnt been any upkeep in more than 5 years. The whole hut smelled like a urinal cake and was musty, old and peeling. We were a big group and rented 2 rondawels and they were both in the same state.The shower in number 30 (pictures attached) is a hazard as the floor dips quite violently towards the drain, so much that you have to stand feet apart around the dip or risk slipping. The tiles are also so old theyre cracking and peeling.There was so much dirt and grime none of us felt comfortable sleeping in between the bedding.This would be more acceptable if this were budget accommodation, but we paid R750 per rondawel per night - we couldve gone down the road to the French Lodge and paid only a little more for a 4 star experience.Definitely not coming back, not one aspect of the experience - from the accommodation to the uninterested staff - was up to standard.

Disgusting for the amount charged. Unfortunately we werent able to find alternative accommodation at such short notice. Would never recommend. People who had booked for a week left after one night, prepared to lose their payment rather than remain there. Please note this comment relates to the old rondawel.

I have to say this is by far the worst client service i have experienced in my 36 years of life. Firstly they dont make any point of letting their client know of whats expected and ended up basicly being held hostage behind their gates. Ended up missing meetings at work and causing me huge problems. The way i was treated out of the blue, like a criminal really. Never again.

Friendly and very helpful security tonight, 18 Feb 2019

Having a very bad experience at Mount View Resort. Our chalet was broken into and valuables stolen. Police and forensics came. However management have not visited us to show any type of concern. We have been many times to the office and also requested for the manager to visit our chalet but he just ignore our concerns. Very poor customer service from the manager. We were told of other break-ins at Mount View Resort......

Great place for old and young. Loved the tenpin bowling.

Bit pricey but neat and secure

Check in 26/12/2018..first impression Monkeys still around and I was told they were taken away. 2nd impression no ramp for my elderly Mom, the stoep is lekker kuier place.. Inside the Chalet, small fridge and we have a 7 sleeping Chalet. Not enough. Bathroom still have a bath. Shower in the bath.. Not appropriate for all 7 peeps. Rate per day not suitable for the state of Chalet 134. Very disappointed. The website photos are not related to the current state of the Chalet. Bedding is outdated. The resort is central to explore the Garden Route. We were here in 2012 and back 5 years later.

Staff was rude and not accommodating at all. Normal check in time is 2 , but they refused letting us in before 3 even though one of our partie fell sick and needed a place to lie down. Owner says it was temp staff assissting and that does mot chamge the facts. They avt on the owners instruction. Will never return there.

What an overall wonderful experience!!! Accommodation was GREAT!!!!!!! And the ten-pin bowling was a welcome bonus. Will definitely be back for more.

It was terrible. We drove from Pretoria to George jus to get to the lodge. They showed us to the Rondawels and it was falling appart and stinking inside. On the end they gave us a chalêt for the nigt that wasnt too bad. We got another plays to stay the rest of our hollidays.....

For the amount paid for one night, it is definitely not worth it. No complimentary coffee or tea, bedding was not properly washed, no heater or spare blankets, house is quite dull.

Good place to spend an evening with friends playing bowling, having supper or just relaxing in the bar area by the fire.

We stayed in a rondavel in this resort during December 2018 - what a ripoff!! R930 per night for 3 people, not worth the dilapidated state it is in at all! Old and suspicious bedding. No recommendation from me.

The camp sites are way too small and cramped. They have no rules for visitors making noise late at night. They have one ablution facility for the entire camp, with only 2 showers and 2 baths so had to wait long to use the facility. Can really upgrade the braai facilities, only one central braai facility which is not enough for the entire camp. There is no maintenance done at all. The basins where you are supposed to wash your dishes sits on a very uncomfortable level, hurting your back. Couldn’t even use the so called laundry room. Then the rondavels need some serious maintenance. The entire rondavel smells like mould. The floor was full of dirt when we arrived. The entire “resort” needs a massive makeover.

We play tepin bowling there every Thursday morning with friends and enjoy the fun. We are all over 70 and think it is great. Have thought of something, should you not advertise a pensioners tariff on Thursday mornings with tee/coffee or scone for x amount. The crowd from R&R are growing week by week. We are bowlers and could also market it more. You also need hands on manager or young person, friendly attitude with eldery. I am sure you could even advertise smaller pitzas for a lunch. We bring our children during the year when they visit and have had giid service the restuarant fir beer and pitzas. Keep up the good work but please have someone available all the time. Worst pizza i have ever actually paid for. Dont waste your money here.

Falling apart. The rondawels are in a really bad state. No microwaves in one of them. Some dont have tvs in. Some dont have remotes. Really really bad. Paint is falling of the walls. Doors are falling apart. Braais is falling apart. Showers are dirty and smelly. Bedding is not clean. Cleaners came into our rondawel in the morning without even knocking. They simply opened the door and walked in and told us to get out because they are in a hurry to clean up. If you visit someone thats staying there you have to pay to go and see them. Even for only five minutes you must pay. Ive been living in George for about 22 years. I have stayed in a lot of different places in George and the surrounding areas. The previous owners maintained the rondawels and the chalets. The place was looked after and every thing was well maintained. All rondawels were fully equipped and it was a pleasure staying there. Since the new current owners took over they build the tenpin bowling, restaurant and the bar. They also build a few new chalets. However there only focus is on the entertainment. They do absolutely nothing about the state of the rondawels. At the moment they are building a new section to the current entertainment building. Wondering how much that costs them. Meanwhile there is a rondawel which had a tree fall onto its roof. That rondawel has been standing there with the broken roof for months now. They simply took everything out and left it like that. I surely wouldnt recommend this place to anyone. They should be ashamed about the state of those rondawels.
