What a grate place to stop and have a bite. It is a real stunning place. A must to go there and investigate your self
We stopped over at Ou Meul for a quick snack after a meeting. I can attest to the brilliance that is - Ou Meul Simondium. We enjoyed 2 toasted sandwiches, both served open. A sandwhich can often be viewed as something so simple, and easy to make. But, let that not draw your attention away from what can be achieved - something Ou Meul has mastered. From the locally baked bread, to the combination of flavours, to the attentive service. Well done Ou Meul. Absolutely delicious.
It has been, and continues to be, our responsibility to fill the earth with the light and warmth of hospitality.” Conrad HiltonWarm and friendly staff. Great meals and biscuits. My son was really impressed. He said Best pastry pie ever. Can we visit again please.Thank you so much
If you want a quick - pick me up- then make your stop at the Ou Meul in Simondium. Add a scrumptious pie to the coffee and some friendly service. Take a stroll in the olive grove and you certainly will be revived when leaving the place.
Good good and even better coffee!!
Lovely little place with a range of deli products and sweet baked goods. Enjoyed a milktart and salted caramel tart with a nice cappuccino!! Products are a bit pricey, but they are specialty goods.
Friendly waitress, good food and nice garden setting to relax in.
Bootlegger coffee. Salted caramel tartlets and mini cheesecakes...amazing.
Very nice setting, great breakfast...
Delicious cakes and bread. Friendly service.Good coffee
I love this place. Great coffee. Great food. Great friendly service. Our go to place for the start of a breakfast run on the bikes, and we even stop again on the return home.
Delicious breakfast enjoyed here.
Fantastic scenery, coffee and food.Always a pleasure visiting.Highly recommended
Ou Meul offers a wide variety of yummy homemade treats, meals, beverages and theres also a beautiful array of boutique unique crafts and goodies. The garden sitting area is spacious and esthetically pleasing. The atmosphere at Ou Meul is both tranquil and serene. Lovely for a day out for for a single person, group of friends or family. My all time favorite is their chicken pie. Its the best Ive ever had. My nephews absolutely enjoy playing in the gardens and love Ou Meuls choc-chip cookies. I would highly and confidently recommend.
Such a gem! Found this by chance when looking for a breakfast spot. This placed had previously been a neglected building that has now been completely transformed into a quaint farm house type restaurant. The seating area outside under the trees is fantastic. It overlooks the newly renovated building and an olive tree grove. Inside there are a few tables and counters as well. Great food - as one would expect from an Ou Meul Bakery. Worth the drive! There is an interior design / decor shop and little garden shop too. Was such a nice outing.
Beautiful Sunday morning farm vibe, great food.
Best pains aux chocolat in the Cape, lovely sourdough bread and coffee.
Friendly staff. Good food. Loved the.croissants
The most friendly staff and best egg and bacon breakfast bun in the history of man kind. Thank you!
I stopped for a quick purchase of pies for my cricketing playing sons. love the setup and the cappuccino
Service was not great at all. Drove far for something sweet but there was a limited range of items in stock. Not worth the drive to be subjected to service with an arrogance.
Wide variety of baked goods. Breakfast menu also excellent. Nice seating under trees to enjoy your breakfast.
Its strongest feature is the location - the bakery and restaurant is situated in the old handelshuis with a gorgeous view of the Cape Fold Mountains. It is on the road which passes some of the most revered wine estates in the country and dont forget Simondiums beautiful church. The menu is quite standard for the franchise although when we arrived on a Sunday morning around 08:00 am they did not have any croissants ready. When we came back at 10:00 am they did have croissants but it was so full that we could not find a place to sit. Nevertheless, it is perfect for a coffee break when cycling in the area and it is definitely more accessible than the wine estates in the sense that it is right next to the road. I did not appreciate the unisex toilets. In all a pleasant experience with some room for improvement.
Great food and Coffee, as well as artisan items.
Too many flies. From a health standpoint I feel management needs to get a handle on that. I will never go back there. The flies are constant. I understand there are nearby farms but then do more than just have fly traps. Its disgusting having swarms of flies around you while eating. I dont even want to know what the kitchen looks like. It is unhygienic and you cant enjoy your food.
Had the scones with coffee......divine home baking...
Friendly Staff and Excellent Service !!
Lovely sitting in the garden and having delicious milk shake
Service was not good as we waited for 10 minutes before being acknowledged and given a menu. Food was good but not to Ou Meuls standard
Chickpea and Lentil pie. - and all the other pies .YUM
Nice quiet atmosphere outside under big old trees. Sipping on coffee, tee or something cold while eating a piece of cake or a pastry makes this even more memorable...
Consistently great service and delicious food. My favorite stop!!!
Very new ve burger,, and outdoors
Lovely coffee and the best pies.
Pies are over priced vs houwhoek, but nice setting for lunch or breakfast.
Its a great little bakery,,,way back it was a post office,,dont recall what it was before,,,,fresh baked pies, bread and pastries,,coffees great,,havent been down that way for a long time,, I ended up having coffee, meat pie and a homemade bread,,,But you got to be quick for the homemade breads and pastries because the locals know about this little gem, Its situated on the southeastern outskirts of Paarl,,,,Well worth a visit,,,definitely go that direction more often
They are busy with renovations in their defense. Not pleasant experience
Lovely little gem... Not to be missed.... Love the old world charm....
Best bebotie pies
Fast friendly service- great coffee and food.
Lekker big fat fish cakes - amazing!
Best Home made Meat Pies
Friendly staff and management. Helped us solve our car problems. Had a very tasty lunch under the tree shade.
Always nice.
Nice little roadside breakfast spot. If the weather is good, grab a table outside and enjoy the view.
Great little shop with nice breakfast and lunch menu. Perfect for a quick pie and a bootlegger cappuccino on your way to Franschhoek
The smell of the coffee is awesome. Pies are big fresh and delicious 😋
Are you looking for quality pies? Ou meul is the best place to go to. And while you are there, you will find great coffee and sweet stuff. Sit outside for fresh platteland air and peace. Last time I was there (which was today) I managed to find some ripe figs on the fig trees close to Die Gieter. Die Gieter will have the plants for inside and outside of your house. Just an overall amazing experience. Great to take your children to. Last but not least: they have the GREATEST PIES.
Bacon🥓 n mushrooms abit too crispy otherwise their coffee n cappuchino☕ very delicious🎉
Best Cappuccino, best pies. Lovely sourdough sandwiches! But, I miss the Prego burger which were removed from the menu! 😢
Wow such great pies and coffees in a super convenient spot for stopping by
Nice Pies
Such a pleasure walking into an organized and friendly atmosphere. Coffee and food are excellent and scrumptious.
A beautiful place to have a breakfast but the menu is expensive when you start adding all the extra charges for sausage, pork bangers etc
A big disappointment, nothing like the Oumeul we are used to in Melkbos. The place is dirty, cupboards broken, this place could be so much more, the chips tasted of fish so the oil definitely not changed in a long time. Will not come back here.
Salted caramel cups were delicious as well as the chicken burger I had for lunch. As well as good service from the guy there, very friendly!
Never disappoints, always enjoy their pies, and the coffee is tops.
Very friendly stuff and the food was excellent
Delicious pies and pastries. Worth the visit
Food good, service very slow, toilets disgusting
Great spot
Best pies, best croissants, best coffee!! Beautiful garden setting.
Great idea of a farm stall. If only the service was better or friendlier. Can recommend this place for a quick coffee or take-away baked treat.
Great food
Lovely place for a quick bite while on your journey.
It was wonderful, we had a great time and had super duper coffie.
Excellent service, excellento staff and MANAGEMENT! Thanks guys!!!!
Quaint little place for a quick coffee and snack.
Always friendly staff. Great pies and coffee is delicious.
Bought very good baked bread sandwiches and coffee for take away but waited long in a q
Awesome Spot
Love there pies and friendly staff!
Very small inside, lots of bake things to buy, rusks , cake, bread. Very good coffee. Ou Meul Farmstall is in a farming area, far enough from city, peaceful and an excellent choice for morning or afternoon coffee. Their chicken pie is delicious! You can also buy big chicken, bobotie and some other pies to bake at home as a meal.
Pleasant experience
Great pies, great coffee and a beautiful mountain view!
Coffee was great(as usual) but the fresh bobotie pie was to die for!!! Yum yum!.
Very nice place. Good service. Only down for me was that there was not much for our son to do, luckely we always try and travel with his toys, so he enjoyed it.
What a beautiful setting for an excellent coffee. Worthwhile stop for a snack on the way into Franschhoek. Lovely old trees in a garden setting. Food was great. Reasonable pricing.
Nice outside and good quality coffee and pies
Enjoyed this quaint store that is in an old building. Great service and staff.
Lovely place that is easy to miss when driving by. Bakery with aromatic fresh bread and pastries. They make great coffee from Cape Town roasters Bootlegger Coffee. Location is an old store/post office, so the building is beautiful.
