Im a South Africa male. Who entered this establishment to enquire about the MTN store within its premises. Only to be stop by security informing me that Im NOT Allowed in the centre wearing a hoodie. The security staff was rude n the approach was less desirable. I know its mandatory for mask but when I was approached the security told me I must remove my hoodie I asked him why would I do that he then told me if I dont want to then I must leave the centre... I was like Hell NO. He continued to tell me that here are signs that centre management had placed at each and every point of the centre (which there wasnt any) I instructed him to follow me to the centre management offices. I spoke to a young African employee who hear my complaint the solution was that Im to either removed my hoodie or leave when I declined he then ask if I be willing to take off my mask n hoodie and face a security camera in order to be identify. He went on to saying that the reason behide it was that the centre had been robbed so hence it a security risk. Ohk then I did understand but my point is simple centre management couldnt afford to replace the signs that was last seen there after the looting. Come now where the PR.... customers shouldnt be made to feel humiliation to such an extreme. Bad PR centre management n the security company should apologise. But no they didnt and after get a third of what I was intending on doing was cut short as every corner u took a security instructed me to remove my hoodie... I refuse n ask him to show me a signs which were none of existing bad

Its been a while since Ive done my shopping here but it hasnt changed a bit. One good thing about the place is, it is very easy to navigate the, stores with resealable prices, a safe and sufficient parking how ever I find it very small as it can get over crowded on lunch times

I went to Checkers here and by the money market station where I needed my bus ticket we were met with complete rudeness. The cashiers kept conversing with each other on what seemed to be local gossip, payed no mind. Also I dont speak Isizulu I was raised in a completely different place so I struggled to understand them and they wouldnt speak English and I ended up with the wrong ticket cos I gave up.. So I just traveled on that date to avoid going back there.. It was a terrible experience for my first time here. The stubbornness is out of this world. Im okay with people being proud of their culture but to impose it on me with so much rudeness 👀. That was unprofessional but apparently its a norm that is celebrated by management a cross Durban so I suppose I was too sensitive because I was expecting to be assisted correctly as a customer just like other Checkers shops nationwide.

The Centre is not fully operational after the unrest. It is very sad to see our shopping centers in the state they are in. My time here was a little emotional. Shoprite is fully operational with enough stock, thank you to Shoprite Management for getting back into swing. Mr Price is also open but stock is limited. PEP was closed. I pray we get to some sort of normal soon.

This shopping center was revamped in around 2010, and was refreshed to a degree. As it stands now (2021) its a functional center, but without any major drawcard. The GAME store which originally made this centre famous back in the 80s and 90s is no longer in operation, and the center feels a little run down at present.

Used to be a great shopping centre with array of good quality stores especially for those.of us who grew up in the city as it had everything under one roof. NOT ANYMORE though.Outside was untidy and I had visited after a good few years .Security needs to be jacked up definitely and the selection of stores is now much more limited.TO THINK THIS WAS A CENTRE WHICH HOSTED THE AIRWOLF HELICOPTER decades ago when I was a kid. The proximity of this mall is wonderful, and the variety of stores is surprisingly vast. The size of this place is a bit of a downside and I wish it had a bit more to it honestly speaking, it really could do with a bit more branded clothing stores. Nevertheless, its a convenient place to take a stroll at anytime to grab something thats needed.

Because there was as usual no management on call today. Cell Care staff refused to wear mask and was speaking to customers without a mask. Capital also at fault. they have social distancing inside bank but say they cannot control the people outside. they will not adhere to social distancing. shop rite no social distancing kn queues. majority of shoppers are taking masks off in queues to use cell phones and also partially coveting mouth and leaving nose open. I asked a security guard to go to Cell Care but nothing happened. please people. this is honestly one if the dirtiest centres in Durban. The fact that there is no management to take calls over weekend says it all. Windermere Centre has the best Manager in all of Durban. Constantly on the go to keep shops /staff and consumers as safe as possible. I will not be going back the City View for any reason. I have been the management offices three times to complain about lack of masks and they will not take it seriously.
