Called the crowbar now: Winner of the worst restaurant of the year award (in my books)Manager: non existant, never heard or saw of a manager, incompetent.Staff: terrible, untrained, over worked and lost.Restaurant: disgusting, cant wash hands in bathroom, urine all over the floor, seats broken, tables not serviced (cleaned).Food: my partners food arrived first, staff then burnt my order and I received mine 15 minutes later. Pasta and burgers horrible, pizza decent.Bar: I had one beer in the 3 hours that I was there. Stood at the bar infront of the manager for a good few minutes only to not be served and eventually told were closed.I miss a functional restaurant close to home, I miss the real hops. Crow bar is a waste of space and the owners should be ashamed of their business.Take a drive to mulligans in Mackeurtan and actually enjoy yourself.

Brilliant day drinking venue. Amazing setting and reasonable pricing. Variety on the menu. I highly recommend the deep fried calamari starter and the pie and chips main. Awesome pub grub +++servings are huge!!!

Well run, family friendly pub quiz on a Wednesday night. Food is tasty and reasonably priced. The manager and quiz master are welcoming and friendly and the table service good. The tables are well spaced for social distancing and the venue is open on the river front side.

It was our very first time visit to this restaurant. The service was brilliant, the music was great and the food was excellent. The menu has a wide variety of meals that in our view warrant a return to try many other dishes. Prices are also very reasonable.Suggestion: please dont see this as a negative comment, because its not. Although their are some dishes/meals on the menu to satisfy vegan customers, may it be suggested that a few more dishes be added to give vegans a greater variety to choose from.Looking forward to our next visit.

Nice setup; good pizza menu. Vibe is varied and not always a chilled one. Some folks get a little rowdy on rugby days so check the sports schedule if you want something more relaxing. The view is pretty and staff is fine.

Update:19/10/20Today I ordered a bunny on ubereats and received curry and rice. I called Hops and told them, the manager corrected the order and had it delivered to my house at no extra fee. Thank you for amazing customer service❤️ Delicious food.Food, Drinks, ServiceThe food is great, had a steak salad, ample steak and the dressings were also rather tasty. Portion size was large enough for me to take the rest home. They also have a lovely variety of shooters, the cherry bomb was particularly delicious. Wines are fairly priced per bottle. The service was also really good, my wine glass was never empty and our orders were taken in a timely fashion. The atmosphere was nice as we sat outside in the warm sun on the benches.

I loved this place but the food was cold

Never kick a dog whiles its down, especially during hard trying times. So try it out and make up your own mind. Great venue with so much potential but not my cuppa tea.

Amazing food and large drinks selection at very afforable prices. The waiter was friendly and attentive and the place has a lekker vibe. Cant wait to visit again.

We were at Crowbar family restaurant and pub for dessert and a beer only. Never had a bad meal there and always well looked after. Our go-to place for an uncomplicated, tasty lunch on a Sunday.

Hops or rather the Crowbar. Has a very nice neat setup. The veg pizza was great and loaded with mozzarella and so were the nachos.There was a slight hiccup with the order for the veg basket. We had bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers. Fortunately the manager happily swopped it out for a fresh one for us.

Lekker spot for an evening out just to relax

I came in the other day with a friend of mine for a quick beer. We came in on a Wednesday during working hours so it wasnt so busy but I ended up talking with the manager about all the work he has and is still doing for the place and honestly.... I was blown away, the place is looking insane and it doesnt seem to be slowing down.Definitely a great vibe and a new weekend spot to meet up with the boys!

Loved the overall atmosphere of the place. Karaoke nights on Sundays are really fun with friends. The steak there is really to die for (ate most of it before i remembered to take a pic). The staff are also really friendly and accommodating.

I had the great experience in food in this place. I love my steak medium not more or less and they did justice to my food, I was happy. The staff is so relaxed they give you space to enjoy your meal not ask you now and then if you are okay. Such a chilled place.

Waited over an hour for breakfast orders. Waiter said that it was a burger patty that took long as it needed 15min - still doesnt justify waiting over an hour for food when there is only one other couple in the restaurant.

Once again not disappointed with Hops. This is a real value for money establishment. The play area is going to make it a real family friendly place.

Hops Riverside must have fallen on hard times, portions are poor but that is probably a known fact judging by the few people there on a half price night. Limited menu too, and what is left to choose on half price is also half portions. Cant enjoy fish and chips with 10 chips on the plate.

Always have a such a jol here. But the wait at the bar is always ridiculous and there never seem to be enough bar tenders available so be prepared to wait a minimum of 20 minutes to get a drink. Otherwise its a good place and its fun.
