Probably the best authentic Indian cuisine in Durban. I really enjoyed a properly textured and well spiced lamb curry. Prices are affordably aimed at the man in the street.

Munched down a good old Cornish Chicken Bunny Chow with a smile constantly licking my fingers. Old establishment well kept and maintained. Attentive staff serving great quality tasty food. What more can one ask for... Well done guys

Amazing food, just that you have to wait too long for your food, when you ask what’s the hold up they say it’s freshly made and you ask them is the chef still cooking the rice and the meat? and they don’t answerI run a restaurant myself and I know that it’s way too long to make a customer wait for 35-40 minutes for their foodSo 1 star for them

When you get served an average (still good) bunny chow, at R 140.00 for a 1/4, its time to rethink the rating. Service was slow and nonchalant. At that price for a mutton curry in a bread, you would expect more. Not going back in a hurry.

Britannia are now trading on their name only.Food was good altho it lacked salt. However there were no condiments on any table and the service was shocking.Which wasnt the biggest disappointment of the night, the price was. Its extremely expensive for food that isnt great.My opinion go somewhere else where the food will be just as good but cheaper.

The front desk on entry isnt manned, with no sign to walk further into the restaurant. The person frantically taking orders is extremely busy and going between this point and a till thats about 10M away inside the restaurant, whilst also taking calls from inside the hotel.Layout is good, however depending on the dish, you may wait quite a bit.

Love their food... especially their mutton bunnies. Service and sit-in ambiance has slacked somewhat recently, therefore not a 5 star review.

Just drove from Newcastle for the long weekend upon arrival i had been craving their bunny chow since I moved out of Duban last year this time. Anyway I must they have drop the quality of the food and increased the prices wont be making a turn there again

The curry was really good. Table was dirty and had to wait for it to be cleaned. Had to wait long to be informed that the first two orders of red wine was not available. Looks like some people like the place, I will not go there again.

Nothing exciting at all about this place. The wait for the food is way too long. No ventilation. No social distancing. its HOT inside there and they dont feel the need to switch on the aircon. The communications skills of the waiter/s are very poor. We asked why is this curry served in a side plate and she said as long as you eat it lol.....really!!!! and NOBODY knows what the wifi password is. Why are you hiding the wifi password. Not going back there anytime soon.

Beautiful set up and meals are excellent.Your staff need some training with guest communication. No smiles place my food on the seat next to me no apologies or saying enjoy your meals no come back to check if we were ok.I also know they were under lots off pressure. But attitude is important. Ex waiter at a 5 star hotel. (Pensioner)

After having heard a very positive review about Britannias PRAWN BUNNY, I decided to give it a much anticipated try. I have to admit that the 45 minute waiting period would have been acceptable and worth every second if only Britannia had delivered on their taste. I am highly disappointed with the lack of flavour, even the prawn alone was lacking in taste. This was not a cheap bunny by far, a total waste of money. I will definetely not be ordering this meal from their menu ever again!!! BIG LET DOWN.We drove quite a distance today to support Britannia and their business , but my take on their service and their food has changed. A very disappointed client!!!

The food is brilliantly good. I had the Boneless Mutton Bunny and it was not too spicy, great taste. The service was a little slow. We observed a family leave because the tables were not cleared out promptly. Id definitely go back and try again and hopefully the service will be better.

I came here to order a milkshake and bunny, the food was delicious but, the milkshake and the service(not the staff, the time it took) was absolutely disgusting. The restaurant was not even full, there were 10 people at this time. It took them 15 minutes to make a milkshake 😐. As for how long they took with my food, I ordered my bunny at 14:06 and it only arrived at 15:10 so you tell me if this is good service. And this was not the first time. this has happened.

A hidden gem. My younger brother took us to the Britannia Hotel specifically for the Mutton bunny chow. Omigosh. Delicious. I will be going back to try the other items on their menu. It all looks very good. Staff are friendly. Immaculately kept. I am really impressed. We sat in the little courtyard but did walk through. Old world charm. Loved it.

Great food, not so great service

Was not attended to by a waiter, had to call the reception from my cellphone for one. Waited 15 minutes to place the order and half an hour later no food arrived. Kids and family was disappointed so we walked out and paid for drinks only. Wasted almost an hour...further to this there was also workers delivering alcohol and walking around with their masks down...they even did not bother to put it on properly after they came to our table to talk to us without their masks on. Would not recommend Bitania anymore...service is extremely poor and not worth the risk

The restaurant is totally unorganised, had to wait almost 30 min for a bunny chow. Had to ask repeatedly for the bill, the food was good, garnish was mediocre. They were totally unprepared for the volume of guests in the restaurant, most of the patrons were loosing their patience. I wont go through the drama of eating there again.

I would never recommend the hotel to anyone the service is poor I was even ran out of a pure simple tissue paper I ordered breakfast and had to wait an hour for it then tea same storie they do things so wrong and you will never even hear we apologize my stay was 4nights but within day 2 I jst wanted to pack my staff and live ...horrible experience indeed

The food was amazing however I am very disappointed that my family and I had to wait 1hour for our meals and when the receptionist came to apologize to us she offered us drinks saying she will get us a round of drinks she came across as though they were gonna be complimentary when I went to ask her about it when I received my bill she was rude and uninterested in what I had to say. This is upsetting as the service we had received was very poor
