Extremely disappointing. Carpets are filthy. Room is below the current ⭐️ rating. Had dinner at the Sugar Club restaurant. Was informed we had to dress in formal attire to gain entry, no slops & shorts so my husband had to dress up. Not long after a guest arrived wearing shorts & talkies & was allowed into the restaurant.The Waiter did not explain that we could order other meals outside of the “so-called fine dining” menu until we asked.Finally, the cherry on the top - We were informed that we could charge our dinner to the room to settle on checking out. We were mortified when the waiter arrived a few minutes later at our room to say we had to pay upfront as no prior arrangements were made. Extremely embarrassing for a measly amount. Clearly guests are of no importance.Will definitely not recommend the Beverley Hills.

Incredibly well located hotel. Old 80s charm with magnificent views friendly staff. Direct access to the Umhlamga promenade with a beautiful pool and loungers positioned just above it.Regrettably not enough attention to detail one would exterior of a 5 star hotel.WiFi was frustrating. Had to reconnect/ restart devices multiple times during my stay to stay connect - often too slow.Plugs in room not close to bed to comfortably charge phones etc over night. TV stations limited and not tuned in properly.Breakfast a little strained, not particularly generous - possibly COVID reasoning - with allot of plates wrapped wrapped in plastic - so much plastic - I know there are other ways as seen at other hotels.Might be back, but mainly for the view and location.

The service was slowly but after we complained they redeemed themselves. Their food was alright, though we complained about one of the dishes served, no apology and acknowledgement of this concern, disappointing. But the ambiance was great. They must work on their service!

Very disappointing on our arrival as we were told the booking was cancelled online but it was active on our side,The manager made it clear that they dont have any accommodation for us and theres nothing she can do....My husband insisted that she must read the response which we received online and after reading it she told us to wait theyll prepare a room for us....So if the hotel was fully booked ,how did she managed to arrange a room for us?why she couldnt consider that from the beginning??? If it wasnt for my husband forcing her to read the response from the online booking we would have been turned away.....

Definitely not a fine dining restaurant, no attention from the waiters, food not up to standard, curries served were not good, standard is low. Exploiting people with the prices and the toilets were in poor condition

Overall a disappointment. We called reception several times for a leaky AC and to vacuum the floors & clean the bathroom when we checked as it was dirty. Once they repaired the AC - they used our bathroom towels to dry the floor and left it there dirty. Breakfast was atleast. Service at the pool area was very poor unfortunately. And pool chairs / towels were all dirty. There were a lot of complaints from other guests at reception too and unfortunately management didn’t seem to care. This was once a 5 star hotel - unfortunately its seems to have dropped to a hotel on par to 2 or 3 star hotel.

Simply in a class of its own ..Every thing from the excellent menu to the personal service ..Fine dining at its best

I had the most amazing service and food!Our host Standerton was brilliant, he is a whole mood and a vibe.We had the breakfast, it was worth every penn. The ocean view is amazing at the hotel, it is literally by the sea shore. The pool, I am yet to see a pool cleaner like the Beverly Hills Hotel pool.

When reading this review, please - if you wish - read some.of my others too. I would like.for you to see that my comments are as objective as possible.I have stayed in many hotels worldwide and this is THE hotel right at the top of my list that I would NEVER return to.For what one pays and the fact that it is 5 star hotel, one would not be misplaced I believe to expect treatment of a nature superior to that of what would be deemed standard.I stand totally corrected, but for hotel guests to have to book for dinner is not something I have encountered before but it seems the establishment is more wanting to please group bookings at their restaurants. We thus on night 1 walked to another restaurant and we were not sorry.Night 2 we ate at the hotel (took a chance and was given the last table available). However, service was focused on 2 group tables and I was left having to be happy with just 1 beer.Breakfast requires quite a wait, as they cannot accommodate enough guests at a time.Room aircon (in a very humid climate) is not at all adequate!In 5 star establishments it is the attention to detail that sets it apart from lesser stars.... then how come.the light in the room does not work?Staff, it must be noted, is.the one thing where this hotel can stand proud.Thanks for having us BH but be assured we will NEVER be back.

My family and I had a lovely two nights at the Tsogo sun Beverly Hills Umhlanga Hotel, the ocean view from our rooms was spectacular, and the rooms were quite modern and comfortable. Hotel service from staff was excellent. We enjoyed the breakfast setup and were very impressed with the covid protocols set out for this.Only suggestion I have is to include a sanitiser within the elevator.

Hotel is beautiful but the food at Sugar club food is absolutely terrible ..not worth the moneyIts was my birthday and my hubby taken me for supper at Sugar club restaurant ...its a real disappointment on how much you pay and what you get to eat..really didnt expect this..i would never eat here again
