On only ever has to visit a place like this out of necessity, unless youre a planner, architect or something of the sort. I went to get copies of my plans. Knowing most government services I was expecting the worst and was really pleasantly surprised. The guys there were super helpful and friendly and most surprisingly super efficient. Was in and out in under half an hour with copies of my house plans.

Have to say I was so impressed. Always hear stories about how useless government departments are, but from the time I got there, security and employees were courteous, helpful and friendly. I enjoyed the experience and even more for the fact that I have never been there before and was hell of a confused. Left with my plans and helpful suggestions from the employees and other customers in the queue.

They DAA and LUM sit with our plans for several months, they dont respond within the prescribed 30 days. Its sad because poor people end up not building because of municipalitys failure to approve plans on time.

Bad service whether telephonic or over the counter

Typical Metro...This is the plans retrieval dept ..once youve got thru the attitude and the guy who keeps referring to you as My Man paid your fee for the plans you need printed ...Its a looong walk to get the plans...There is a pic posted of what is required for plans....make sure you have it all or else...no plansMake sure you feed the parking meter for at least 1hour or the plans are going to cost you a lot more....

Best municipality in South Africa

Parking not sufficient between 8:00 - 12:00. The Car Guard usually always there will intimidate you & becomes aggressive if you dont tip him or tip too little for using free public parking.
