I have always enjoyed the Durban Yacht Mole since childhood. I now take my dear granddaughter there atleast every two weeks to view the boats and feed fish. An absolute thrill for her. For me its a bit of a disappointment. Theres just too much of garbage in the water. We watched a mullet die in a discarded plastic bag in the water. Sad, but more sad for my grandchild. All in all a walk around our beautiful city is always enjoyable.
Lovely view! FANTASTIC FOOD and many beautiful souls both members and non-members, extremely welcoming and hospitable in every form and manner. Thank you to RNYC for an amazing experience today ☮❤💪👌🙌🙏✅✅✅✅✅
Great day out except for Lamb curry which was very fatty and full of sinew. It was, however, exchanged for a very good Prawn special.
Good food, fast friendly service at great prices. Lovely outlook.
As a non member of the club I found it to be a great venue with an amazing view of the Harbour to spend a lazy afternoon listening to great live music and throw down a couple of cold ones. The quality of their food leaves a lot to be desired for and wouldnt say it was value for money... But if one excepts that this is an establishment that mainly caters for the regular sea fearing pirate and as they say... When in Rome... Not a memorable culinary experience but was an enjoyable couple of laid back chilled out hours in the sun. Worth a trip there even if only to enjoy a cold wet one whilst enjoying your scenic Harbour filled views.
Just such a sunny tranquil spot with a great vibe. Pity the quality the food has gone down but its a nice spot for a drink in the sun.
The main restaurant was closed but the Roast downstairs was excellent for the price of R85.00. Sitting outside on a perfect day made the venue change all the more worthwhile. Definitely worth supporting.
My favorite place in Durban..So chilled and great food
Great for a lunch after a day on the water! Beer is cold and the music is usually great! Members get discount. The chicken basket has always been a favorite l!
Its really scenery being there.. its a really great place to unwind and forget about your problems
Attended a fundraising event tonight at the Royal Natal Yacht club.It is a nice welcoming venue with superb views of the harbour. Lots of pictures and memrabilia around ,honouring its heritage -sailing and yachting. I love the combination of wood and brass all around -a reminder of seafaring vessels. The food served was delicious-curry and rice.Definitely recommend this venue.
Well received by staff. Venue great for our dog unit braai even though not a member. Loverly view of Harbour.
Such a chilled atmosphere. Nice daily specials on the menu. Staff are helpful and friendly. Prices are reasonable.
Lovely venue great toasted sandwiches and chips. Staff friendly and attentive
The place is neat and tidy and the food excellent
A place to go in summer as the outside area is very nice. The sunday lunch was ok for the price. The restaurant staff seemed to be unmanaged and therefore unhelpful.
Thinks its one of the oldest buildings down at point.. such an awesome little spot and nice splash pool for the kids to ha e a dip
A place one should go to more often. Lovely setting and good value for money.
Lovely outdoor location good food excellent service hamburger s small and expensive
Nice spot, clean
Lovely relaxed atmosphere great prices good food very clean facilities
Great place good food
The power of dreams 😂
Lovely atmosphere. A place to enjoy..
This stripped back, easy going cafe & bar serves up classic breakfasts and lunches. A recent lunch special was a perfectly cooked fillet of beer battered fish & chips. Sitting on the picnic benches scattered across lawn, watching seaside/harbour activities - no better way to spend a Saturday in the sunlight.
Great spot to have a play and a meal. Bit pricey for non members
Lovely ambiance, great affordable meals.
Lovely place fresh air and ocean what more could u ask for
Nice and authentic
Amazing food thats value for money with a beautiful view of the entire harbour and has a friendly atmosphere if u looking for somewhere for a date or to take the family royal natal yacht club is the place
We attended a memorial service today @ The Royal Yacht ClubLovely ambience and good service😍👍
A beautiful venue to have a function as well for all in the sailing fraternity
Very nice setting. The place is clean and staff are friendly. Would recommend a visit.
Nice place to relax
Awesome scenes all around, a great place to go have breakfast at whilst watching the birds and the boats pass by.
Good food. Great location.
Good food and good time
We joined friends for the Easter egg hunt, was great fun and the kids loved it, Just a shame that the harbor area is so dirty and smell it does affect the ambiance of the place. But that is not on them they are just affected by it. It is nice sitting there watching the boats go by, relaxing. there food is of good quality and the prices are not bad at all. Even better if you are a member.
Attending a beach cleanup at the harbor, it had lots of plastic, condoms and various other dirt on the rocks
Relaxed atmosphere. Great to unwind and enjoy a sundowner.
Good stall cheap fresh meals
Great food and a great view. I grew up at this yacht club and the people and the staff are amazing. There is always something going on like live music, karaoke and events for Easter and Christmas. Best childhood I could have ever imagined at this place!
Neat n clean love it
I enjoy the beauty of the Club and surrounding area. My lunch was superb. I am evolved with Durban High School (HISTORIAN) and ex staff member. I was evolved in talks about boys joining the yachting section a few years ago.The ambiance and tone of the Club is very dignified. I guess it could be a little more spirited in the bar area in the evenings.Thank you for hospitality towards me a non member. A great experience. Cheers Jeremy Oddy.
Yatch club provides awesome spot for fishing and relaxing with safe parking .Good fishing of the rocks in the harbor lots of small fish. Best to fish when tides changing, some big grunted too!
Service extremely slow, breakfast was not great, chips served after breakfast was finished.
Nice views . Food very good
Good food great setting reasonable prices
Lovely breakfast. Good service. Couldnt ask for better. A big thank you
Gorgeous old yacht club of Durban. Lovely setting over the harbour. Friendly staff, good food and relaxing atmosphere. Great place!
Great view of the harbour. The menu is extensive, from seafood to steaks and curries. The burger was home-made and delicious. Very good service!
Used to be a favourite haunt but has taken a tumble recently regarding the food, especially the Sunday carvery. Menu from downstairs in the garden seems to be the way to go. Outside along the water front could do with a serious cleanup.
Very pleasant and lovely sitting outside with Ros Moffatt my friend. Toasted sandwiches were excellent.
Beautiful place
What a trip down memory lane! Went to a work function there...lovely atmosphere. .the photos and model ships were stunning ..much history in the building
Service is good. Various menus for function rooms. Beware paid parking
A haven from the hub-bub of the city. Beautiful setting facing the harbour. Friendly service, meals are good value and substantial portions. Curry & Rice and Chicken Schnitzel always a favourite.
A fabulous sundowner evening. Delicious snacks. Excellent service and stunning views. I will definitely be back. Thank you for wonderful hospitality.
Spent the Sunday afternoon eating some wonderful food from the vast array of dishes in the buffet. Got a table on the balcony outside and enjoyed the live music from the grass sitting area below. The pool isnt heated but the kids enjoyed it all the same in the mild autumn afternoon sun.
We had a buffet lunch. The mussel soup was exceptionally delicious. ..then very good roast beef with Yorkshire puffing..roast pork ...chicken and vegetables. Malva pudding was disappointing. The service was excellent. It was all a very good experience. Thank you and well done.
Great place for a meal and some drinks on the lawn. The pool and live music creates a relaxing, holiday-like atmosphere. The Sunday buffet is also excellent in variety and quality.
Most hidden gem in KZN
Sunday lunch time is great. Live music. Lovely setting.
Was great visiting - not having been to the club since I had the privilege of serving as Rear Commodore back in the 80s. Certainly a lot different from those days, but thoroughly enjoyed the short visit.
A private function in the Trafalgar room was well catered and the serving staff were quiet and efficient. A beautiful setting with all the yachts from around the world.
Need and tidy family feeling and friendly, you feel welcome swimming for children and mom to tan or swim nice food and history from the years of fishermen
Always awesome. Great staff and value for money.
We had a church fundraiser there, we were very happy with their food, service and premises..
A must if you wanna learn more about the shipping industry of Durban harbour, with some good Seafood and Indian cuisine. Celebrating in 2018 its 160year existence.
Excellent
Safe club. Nice terrace. Beautiful view.
The best pickled fish I ever had.
Pity you cant eat from the menu on a sunday..not everyone enjoys buffet
Best sunset in Durban next to the waters, friendly staff and servicePool with outdoor meals available
