We dont know anything, were just a distribution centre I came from out of town wanting to buy a gift but I dont know anything about 3d printing so I needed to ask a few questions first. They flatly refused to even listen to my question. Companies should never ever let their systems get in the way of personal service. Lucky for me there are OTHER companies in DBN North that do offer personal service, so I gave my money to them in stead.

Ive been using DIYElectronics for all my oddball electronic needs for about 2 years now, 3d printer parts, arduinos, raspberry pis, variety of sensors, probes and other geeky stuff and every order went flawlessly, my experience with you guys have been great.PS, I didnt get a sticker with my last order lol!

Absolutely the worst customer service ever. Drive to them to collect 2 relays. New sign on the door says no more walk ins, order online and then you can collect. Collection says it’s the quickest and easiest way. Place and order, they don’t want to open the door. Says it will take an hour to pick the stock…”this is our process”(2 relays😂) then when I ask for a refund they say send a mail. “This is our process” . They couldn’t care less about customer service and gets arrogant instead of trying to make a plan to assist with something that should take seconds. Pathetic.

Very nice email support is very quick. The only thing you have to make your purchase online with their store. Which I think is fantastic. Before collecting you will be notified via email that the order is ready for collection. So do not go beforehand to collect.

The speed at which they process your order is insane! Atleast 5 min after I had made payment my order was shipped another 10 min later it was in transit! Never came across such a quick process! And on top of that I needed to change my cell number so sent a message to them and within not even 5 minutes they had a mended it, I will never stop shopping at DIYElectronics!

Good store, good prices and wide range of items.Only star lost was due to the staff member standing at the door smoking and did not move to allow me fresh air while pressing the buzzer for assistance. Definitely unprofessional, complete disregard to my presence, and basically illegal to be smoking so close to a public entrance. Quick delivery, but my experience with several orders has shown that they often supply hardware that is defective and refuse returns or just delay until its no longer worth the customers time.Most recently, the 3d printer I ordered was delivered broken and missing a part. After weeks of waiting and following up for a solution from DIY Electronics they eventually informed me they will send a replacement part so I can repair the broken machine they sold me. Buyer beware!

Not great, Ive tried calling for 4 days and no answer. Arrive to try and get a component and they wont let me in, but do allow in store pickup.Had to stand outside and order online to collect from inside. If only they answered the phone to tell me this instead of through a locked gate.

DIY Electronics is one of the cheapest companies, however their current procedure of buying and collecting order(door to door) the way they delay its not satisfactory: I was at their place and had to make purchase online which was fine but also had to wait for 2hours to get my order, not a pleasant experience as this was the first time they did this.

Store front closed due to Covid but Im glad I was able to find it.

You have to order online. Allow time to process order before collection. Lots of items out of stock. Parking is limited. Package is sanitised.

Just called the guys im new to this stuff and just wanted to found out if a printer can print abs or not before i buy there is no one that can help me. They just tell me to email support i just wanted to talk to someone , so i guess i will buy from another store

They shipped a SD card with a raspberry pi kit that didnt work, and its taken four days and a phone call to them to get a response which was a short email (that basically asked if I was sure there is something wrong)How do you take over 24 hours to get back to a customer?Incredibly disappointed at the joke that you call customer service.I should have just paid the like R50 more and brought from elsewhere

I do love DIY Electronics and ive been buying from them for around 6 years or so. I obtained a large order for 200 stepper motors so I gave them a call to find out stock, availability, lead times, discounts etc and was simply told Sorry youll have to check our website. Even after telling the lady over the phone that the order is confirmed for 200 units, her response was still to order it from the online store, no negotiation or help was offered whatsoever. As the name implies, the company seems to only be focused on the DIY community and couldnt be bothered with larger bulk orders. Placed an order from another electronic store for the motors which were R170k. Wouldve been easy money in their pocket if they could train their sales team to assist customers properly.EDIT: Theyve turned to an online only store since Covid but refuse to answer their phones for any product assistance. Bought a number of protocol converters which came with Chinese power adapters, tried to get assistance on replacing them for use with SA plugs, however, its impossible to get hold of them. Spent the money on a product which comes incomplete and had to purchase another set of adapters from Communica for R1150 for an order of R4750 from DIY. Send out emails about 7 months ago and never got technical assistance. I had to email the manufacturers support team in China to get help. Ive supported these guys since 2014/2015. I think this is the last time I order from them, i rather pay extra and/or wait longer for my product from another store which cares about their customers. They only care for customers who require 3D printers, they should probably look at changing their business name as they no longer cater for the DIY electronics market.

Unfortunately they are very slow to respond to and sort out problems. I have sent email, phones and was told my ticket would be escalated but still no reply. I am sitting with a brand new 3d printer that was supposed to be a birthday present for my son that does not work.

The items I ordered arrived timeously and the team at DIY were very helpful when I had technical issues. Booking in my components for repair was pretty painless and the technical department managed to solve the problem I was having. I can definitely recommend DIY!

So I called this place to ask about advice on getting started with a 3D printer. I’ve never owned one but I am keen to get one. I needed to speak to someone as I have a lot of questions to see which model is ideal to address my needs.Instead the lady that picked up said I must send an email. She could not put me through to speak to a sales person nor could she take my number to get someone to call me back.It’s like she was not interested in me wanting to purchase from them.Now if this is the attitude on pre-sale imagine the after sales support will be even worse.Maybe the owner is not aware of what his staff is up to.

Horrifying support. Dont know if its just coronavirus layoffs since I had heard they were good from someone else.Sent an email asking for specific parts and to place an order.No response after almost a week.Phoned in, asking politely if I could place an order for the parts.Indian woman answered, rudely told me to send an email and immediately hung up.Seriously dont know what on earth is going through their minds if they think they can keep customers with this kind of garbage, rude and unhelpful customer service. Bought a DIYELECTRONICS PRUSA I3 Premium KIT a week or so ago, got the package with no visible damage and happy with the courier delivering it quite fast and correctly. That is where the good experience stops.As it is a DIY kit I start to assemble it piece by piece according to the manual to find the first head ace, the LM8UU bearings. First off they look second hand and the bearings have deep marks and rust marks on the bearings as if they where ripped from an old machine. Some even having grinder marks on them as if they where grinded to fit a different unit. Let me not even mention how pathetically they did the job of sliding on the linear rods.Take it as is as people do make mistakes and bearings not costing so much I knew I could source some new ones and continued with the build just to get to the second head ache.No M8 hobbed bolt in the extrude package included in the kit. One of the most important parts and hard to source items (not even listed on there own websites). Send an email to there support email explaining the situation and how this can be resolved. This was on the 15/09/2020 where by Lee Govender apologized and said they will look into the matter.And so we continue with the build just to get to the next head ache, take the screen out of its packaging to find a nice big dent in the screen, wire the screen up to see if it still works and nothing displays.Yet again I reach out to the team on the already open support ticket just to get no reply.After following up daily the only reply I get is that Lee Govender is looking into the issue.So after spending R8000 on the printer, another R200 on new bearings I still do not have a 3d printer that is working. So much for supporting local companies when they treat there customers like this.

Prices are good but after sale help/service leaves much to be desired. Expect days wait between email correspondence and, even then, they provide absolutely basic help into solving your issues without clear direction of what might be the issue and sometimes even providing solutions that do not even apply to your machine.If you are new to 3D printing they are not recommended, I was often advised by them that this is a learning experience i.e. you are on your own, good luck!

If i could choose half a star or no star wouldve been better.... i bought a endsr 5 pro printer from DIYElectronics and after 3 days I am having issues with the extruder thats not taking up filament. DIYElectronics dont even have a phone number to contact the support team. No back up whats so ever. I mailed the support team and they told me to check without any filament if its working which it is but with the filament it doesnt. Support says its not a warranty claim as its works without filament. Doesnt even make sense. Just here to take peoples money.... stay away
