Been trying to get an agent to fix my refrigerator since Friday, the 27th of November and up until today, which is the 1st of December, I have had no response and no technician show up to fix the problem.My freezer is currently not working and whatever products I had are starting to defrost, to me this is an urgent issue and for a company such as Defy to show such bad customer service is disappointing. Honestly thought buying this brand would be good (the fridge is only 8 months old) but clearly I have thought wrong. Will not be buying their brands again due to faulty products and bad service.

Wonderful experience at the Defy Service Centre. Manager, Ismail Khaki, was extremely helpful in sourcing the spares that I required. I thought that I would have to go from pillar to post but the service was quick and efficient.

Take forever to get back with just the quote for repairs. Mine took a week and I had to go there and get the quote. My friends quote over 2 weeks only phoned him because I asked the service staff what had happened to his quote

My Defy stove was been problematic. When I called for assistance I was put on hold endlessly and transferred numerous times. I was eventually transferred to Preggie who was extremely helpful. With my limited knowledge of stoves I was able to explain the problem to him and due to his outstanding service a technician arrived the following day and repaired the stove. Thanks to Preggie for been so accommodating and helpful!

Leaves a lot to be desired. The customer service system should be streamlined so that it does not take over an hour to purchase a replacement part for an appliance. The computer and staff are extremely slow. Management must be very poor too!

Well this was the worst service I have had in a long time. Try phoning in for a price of an element........got transfered from one extenstion to the next. Holding for over half an hour, phoned in a second time......explained to the receptionist what happened, she said she cant help it and puts me through to the same ringing number again. Will definatly influence my decision on buying my next stove or oven. Shocking service to say the least !!!!!

You cant rely on Defy!I contacted the Defy Team on the 14th of February about the absolute frustration I have been experiencing with one of their machines for the past year and a half. A machine I purchased less than 2 years ago (so yes, from day one I had problems with it).To add to that frustration the retailer that sold me the machine gave me the run around with regards to submitting yet another service call to have the machine fixed under warranty.Defy responded to my message with: Were terribly sorry for your bad experience and ask that you accept our humblest apologies.We would like to escalate your feedback to the manager in your area who will contact you soon.I accepted this with the reasonable expectation that the manager will be in contact within a couple of days (that is after all what soon implies). A week later, and nothing no call from any Defy representative and after countless frustrating phone calls to the retailer I finally got feedback that a Defy technician can only come out within the next 3 days.After contacting Defy via Facebook messenger I received the following response: Hi Liz, we completely understand your frustration (I dont think they do). For that, please accept our sincere apologies. Weve escalated your query to our team as a matter of urgency.The next day a manager phoned me to arrange for a senior Defy technician to come out. I asked that the appointment be late afternoon as I work full day and cannot simply leave the office whenever. He indicated that 4:30pm is too late and we then arranged for 2pm on the 21st of February.I took leave to be home at 2pm and the technician only arrived at my house at 4:30pm!He investigated the machine, found a whole in a pipe (that he could not repair) and that the temperature readings on the machine are faulty. He said that he will have to come back as he needs to replace a sensor and and pc board and I cannot use the machine until this has been fixed.Apparently the sensor and the PC board was the problem right from the start and the previous technician that replaced the trip-switch and the water pump did that for nothing.Today is the 28th of February and when I phone the Defy support line to find out what the progress is all I get is they dont know, they are waiting for feedback.I am am absolutely disgusted with Defy!

Handed in a stove with a broken jet, after 3 days they hadnt looked at it, told us no more parts for the stove, not one phone call, incompetent technicians, had to drive there twice. Took it somewhere else who gladly fixed it for next to nothing, on the spot. Horrible waste of time and energy

Ultra Bad After Sales ServiceI bought a Defy Refrigerator/Freezer from House and Home at Arbor Crossing, Amanzimtoti, 4 years ago. The unit now after 4 years is rusting on the inside of the unit pointing towards an inferior product or flaw in the quality of the unit. I phoned Defy Appliances in Jacobs Durban on 21 November 2017 and spoke to Ismael, a representative from the Defy to lodge a complaint regarding the poor quality of the freezer unit. The next day, on 22 November 2017, a representative from Defy who introduced himself as Charles, contacted me and made an appointment with me to inspect the unit. To date however I have seen no sign of him. A copy of the recorded call is available for proof. On 28 November, we followed up on the missed appointment of Mr Charles and spoke to a person who introduced himself as Rodger and he assured us that Charles was attending a course and would be contacting me on 29 November 2017. Again, I have not heard from neither Rodger nor Charles. This call was also recorded and the recording is available as proof of the conversation. The bottom line is that South African manufacturers are calling on consumers to buy South African products and then they sell us inferior products without any after sales service.

DEFY is the worst brand you can purchase. It has the worst after Sales service ever. We bought a Defy fridge on the 08/10/2016. On Delivery the units door didnt want to close they replaced it with new unit. New unit didnt last 3 months then this and that broke we called Defy few times every time they repair something and the fridge work for a month or two then it is broken again. They replaced it again in 2017 new one broke in December we called them on the 19th of December 2018 and only on the 09 of January 2019 a technician came to just see that we are not lying the thing is broken. Service Manager Lucas phoned and said he is not happy with the report he wants to send out a other tecnician and the Tecnician would come today the 15th of January 2019. I tried to phone them few times today they just dont answer or they put you through to someone and then just simply hung up. DEFYs Slogan you can Rely on Defy. And that is a lie.

Terrible service I bought a Defy DTL149 13KG METALIC TOPLOADER it worked once and after that only puts in about 5kls water and you have to fill it up with buckets to get to the correct lvel for it to work while I have been waiting 3 weeks now for spares to arive to fix it. I need a new machine..

Worst service ever received from a retailer and distributer. The queue would never be long but its a 30min wait for every customer due to the poor attitude and lack of knowledge from staff. Phone lines are hardly answered so rather pay more and deal with Hirsch after sales.

I bought a Defy fridge and it started giving problems after 6 months. The fringe is still under warranty and after contacting defy about the problem it has been 2 months with no help from Defy. They said the will come have a look at it. After manipulate phone calls and emails defy still has not come to collect the fridge. Very poor communication and service from defy.

I like defy appliances but I tell all my customers not to buy there appliances, rather buy lg or Samsung. if you need spares rather go to hirsch they do appliance spares.
