I have called Isipingo, Amanzimtoti, Durban HQ, KwaMashu, Umhlanga, none of my calls are being answered, other calls just cut off while I am still waiting. Theres obviously something seriously wrong with the way they handle their calls. This is not how a community is supposed to be treated by the municipal officials.

Im not even gona rate for what nothing gets done its a waste of time bonella in durban get power outages every second day and they keep saying cabel faults how many times can a person repair the same cable over and over dont they think the fibre guys damaged so many times on the same line should it not be replaced instead of joining the cables everywhere and charge it to the fibre contractors its very frustrating as most people are working from home how do they want us to live with they incompetence

The place is a disaster and the employees are arrogant. Municipal employees as supposed to be public servants and are paid by the taxpayer but they treat customers like they are doing the public a favor. The delivery of service is deplorable and there are load shedding constantly. This disrupts business and productivity and the management is pillaging the coffers for their own personal gain, but the rest of the government are the same. Even though I grew up during the apartheid years I am ashamed of this government because the delivery of certain services were reliable and the maintenance and upkeep of the country was the envying of others in the world.

These ducks always send my metro bill months after the due date, and i end up paying penalties and interest on it because of their slowness and incompetence. Cheeky sausages. I honestly dont know who to take this up with. Sick of paying extra because some moose isnt doing their job. Any ideas on how to deal with this?

Disgusting service. Electricity Bills are skewed and when you call the electricity section they tell.you they cant assist.Something very wrong as my bill escalated and them when I moved out the apartment I was renting it still generates a bill.The meter readers seem to unqualified and READ INCORRECT AMOUNTS. NO ACCOUNTABILITY....very bad service and when.queries are opened you wait forever for an answer.

It is people like you who are turning this city into a true 3rd World country. This rating means nothing to the electricity management team, otherwise you would not be having so many people giving you a negative reviews and nothing changes.

Absolutely useless customer service. Calls are not answered. No other options but to wait until someone decides to pick up the phone. No other possibilities of contacting them. Spending hours on the phone getting sick and tired of the same music!

36 hours no electricity ( 31st & 01 New Years) Pathetic service, staff should rather take a pay cut. This could be used to subsidized the citys debt. Called so many times and when I do get through to a agent, ask him a question, didn’t even want to listen just transferred me, as per attached picture, out of all the phone calls I have been holding for this long and still holding. No customer service nor enough product knowledge at all. Prepaid electricity needs voucher to refill but not allowing us to purchase, ask if it was offline but it wasn’t according to the shops or online services. If I cannot go through to a call center agent, who else can help? Every other unit has electricity in my complex except mine! Terrible terrible terrible! They think we have the time in the world to wait on the phone for them and when a agent comes on they won’t even listen to you when you ask and just transfer your call and make you hold 3+ hours and still holding!

So utterly disgusted by the service of electricity department and especially the call centre! The calls are never answered. I called about 7 times in 3 hours with calls going unanswered. Eventually I had to wait for 17 minutes for the call to be answered. When I visited the Customer Service Centre, I was told the technicians start to work at about 2pm which meant a total of 48 hours and more without electricity. Something really needs to be done with this department because they are really failing at service delivery.

So impressed! We called on the electricity department at 7pm and come 7:20pm we had a technician on the scene.. and by 7:42pm the problem was sorted 👌🏻 Thank you for the incredible service!

You can never getany form of asistance here at all, telephonically or in person, i have been trying to log a call for 4 days at my residence for a fault where there has been no electricity and no one has bothered to assist through all avenues of customer care.

Very customer unfriendly, this electricity provider will gladly cut your electricity supply even when you are home without any prior notice of the disconnection. After hours on the phone to them, even after they admit the disconnection was an error on their part, they will happily make you wait 2-3 business days before switching your electricity supply back on. Amazing that a utility provider can behave so poorly.

I feel embarrassed to even give a star. Minus 10* from me. I have been trying to get hold of the Ethekwini Municipality offices for 4 days now. All I want to do is transfer a Municipal account form one owner to another. Needless to say I am so annoyed and frustrated because NO ONE can assist me with an email address for me to process this matter. IM AM NOT HAPPY. If someone does see the comment and have the same experience, just share this.

Totally useless. I have been struggling to get someone to contact me with regard to my meter readings for over 6 months now. They insist on their money but actually they are stealing from the public. We have to pay estimated bills every month and if we dont we get switched off. It is totally incompetent.

Havent received a bill in 3 months. No answer after 5 hours of holding on their customer care line. Sat in queue for 3 hours, to be told I might be reconnected in 48hours after being offline for 4 days already. Still nothing 24 hours later. The official wouldnt give me a service number so there is no way I can track the people supposed to reconnect me. Complete disaster.

Useless as ever, I submit my reading via SMS every month and I get a response to say its captured. When I recieve my bill I am still being billed for an estimated consumption. Dont know why I bothered to try phoning. When you do eventually get through you are transferred to another department that that doesnt answer

Absolutely despicable service. I called 3 separate occasions due to there being no electricity on my road between 17:30 - 01:00 EVERY day for the past FIVE days.The supervisor acknowledged that this was due to cable theft but then asks me what must I do? Put a security at every pole?She then tells me three contradictory statements just to try and get me off the phone. When I asked her if she could make her mind up about what shes saying, she puts me on hold, comes back on the phone and tells me a fourth statement that she cant help and I have to call cable theft department during office hours tomorrow.I dont think she even understands the job description of her department yet alone my dilemma. As a scholar of Public Governance Im appalled at where this woman got her degree!!
