This is one of Durbans longstanding favourite Chinese restaurants. It caters for both in-house dining and takeaways with a variety of excellent yummy and inexpensive meal options. Ease of access and parking available on site. A must visit

Im a new customer. Found Maan Hing accidentally after I placed a Mr. D order with another Chinese Restaurant and they didnt pick up my order and Im so glad I did. Absolutely love your food. Its delicious, affordable and I love the huge portions. Compliments to all the chefs! Thank you very much!

Absolutely LOVE Maan Hing. Prices are affordable and portions are huge. We always get the chicken cashew nut dish as there are always actually cashew nuts in it (unlike some other restaurants!). Miss sitting down at the restaurant, but its understandable given the time we are living in. Also enjoy ordering their chicken chow mein and sweet and sour chicken.

Sadly, this USED to be one of the better Chinese restaurants in Durban, but our last take-out was quite poor. There was a shockingly small amount of beef slithers in the chop suey (and Im not exaggerating here), the rice wasnt well prepared, the sweet & sour pork had five pieces only and the prawns were very soggy - it was terrible. I hope it was just a bad day they had (their food was really quite good usually), but Id rather not chance it until I know for sure that its better.

I only had takeout. Very friendly lady operating the takeout counter. My order was given to me very quickly. The food was really delicious!

I have been going to Maan Hing for 20yrs or so. The restaurant in all that time has never served me a bad meal. The takeaways are as good.Staff are friendly and the prices are still reasonable.The set menus are very good value.No hesitation in recommending this place

Quite frankly the worst and most disgusting food I have ever eaten. Ordered chicken chow mein, pork chow mein and a pork spring roll. We recieved a spring roll that had some sort of undefineable red meat in it (presumably beef), a deep fried pork with dry rice and then chicken chow mein that had bits of pork on it.Vomit stuff. Avoid

I always come here for some good comfort food. Old school atmosphere and Chinese paper lanterns make for a chilled out eating experience. The lunch and dinner set menus are so reasonably priced for the variety of courses.

Great value for authentic chinese food. Try the dinner B -you certainly wont be hungry. In fact we often get a takeaway to share (2 people) a dinner B and a packet of prawn crackers

The best cashew chicken is made here. Always a good choice for us. We call ahead and collect, this makes for a good time to be had by all. No time stress or pressure - if you do have to queue (as occasionally happens) it is well worth it.

Loved their chicken soup. Set menus well with it. Tip: crumble the bowtie into the vanella ice-cream. They open for lunch from 11am till 2pm and then close the restaurant, and reopen for supper. Take aways are allowed when then close.

Its a little hidden gem. The take away has always given generous portion sizes for a decent price. I decided to try a sit down meal the other day. Its great if you are looking for a quiet atmosphere.

Not many places in Durban that offer as much value for money. A 5 course meal for under R100. Decor might be a bit dated, and service a bit slow but the price and very tasty food makes up for that.

Service was poor with only one waitress especially on a saturday night. .Food was no better as sweet and sour pork was ultra tough with sinew and mainly fat. No managerial supervision.

The food is just great . Its never too full and the staff is very friendly. Easy menu if you r new at the place. Parking space can be a problem

Worst Chinese restaurant ever. Worst decision ever. Terrible service, we waited 10min for the menu, and about 5 more for our drinks order to be taken.The food was horrible, zero flavour, mine even smelled burnt.We had chicken and corn soup as a starter, I think morning mielie porridge is a 10/10 compared to it, I swear. Even the chopped up spring onion was tasteless. I dont understand, never again.
