Why is this place not world famous?? This is one of the best food experiences I have had in Durban. Its very gimmicky and experimental and that is what I LOVE about it! The food is cooked in exciting ways with weird pairings. The venison and steak use chocolate sauces with the white chocolate sauce being exceptional. The wontons and spring rolls are also phenomenal and they do duck well. I dont like duck. I loved this duck. Try the duck here. Please? The whiskey selection is also probably the best in Durban. Please go check this place out!

We went for the Gout de France event. Delicious food, great service, and at an incredible price. 1/3 the cost of anything similar in Joburg.

Very Nice Meal. Inexpensive (for my Canadian comparison). The starters were nice, we didnt try the colour changing soup and unfortunately dont eat beef to try the Dishwater beef dish.We had the chicken schnitzel, which wasnt so much like a schnitzel but nice tender pieces of breaded chicken. We had some tapas which were yummy, and the server was friendly. We corked our own nice wine for a few dollars, and sat on the patio (not much of a view but nice fresh air).A good experience, I would recommend it.

Absolutely AWFUL! We went on a Friday night and 70% of the already small menu was unavailable. Our table of 7 were the only people there . A couple of us settled on the fish but were told that only 2 portions were available. On top of that there seemed to be only 1 person in the kitchen doing the cooking , our early meal which we ordered at 7:20pm only came to us close to 9pm.Why is this place open if theyre clearly not prepared to receive customers? I dont know what happened to this restaurant because a few years ago it was great. An extremely disappointing evening all round

Tapas evenings are terrible. Spag bol and butternut soup are not tapas. Were rushed out in less than an hour. Really poor food and service.

Definately a different slant on tapas. Well worth the effort. A multitude of servings and all just screamed fresh and tasty in your face. Snappy service and Chef Shaun Smith was ever present which just makes the customer experience that much more valuable

Chef Shaun and his team always produce sensational dishes, and the service under the watchful eye of Sizwe is always superb. An excellent dining experience and great value.

Sadly the worst meal Ive ever had. It was a thai curry thing with a tiny amount of chicken and vegetables which hadnt been peeled. I paid for extra chicken so I dread to think what the normal portion includes. Maybe Im just not sophisticated enough. The liquid nitrogen ice cream was good fun though so not a total waste of an evening. Also the head chef arrived late and drunk, then drove home early and drunk.

My review is based on eating the amuse bouche only. We arrived as a group and all looked at the menu and decided nothing sounded appetising. The service was odd and then when they offered us a free tasting platter to start (cant complain about the price) it tasted really odd. So mind made up we moved on... That said, perhaps the main meals are delicious...

It was alright. I had the paella type dish. Id say this place is more about the gimmicks than the taste, but that does make it unique. The caustic soda pretzel was dreadful -cool idea, terrible in practice.

I was a bit underwhelmed really. The restaurant seemed to sacrifice taste in favour of gimmicks. Head chef turned up late, and drunk. He then left early and even more drunk.
