The food is also made with carefully sourced, delicious artisanal ingredients - Love the Avo & bacon on rye. Craig, the owner, has won numerous awards for Lineage and its outstanding coffee. Its my second office and second home - once you get to know the baristas & other loyal customers youll be part of the Lineage family. Its a great place to work (unlike other coffee shops, Lineage is happy to let you work there for hours) and youll be in the central meeting point for Hillcrest - the number of important meetings that go down there...! Lineage is an authentic, loved, local gem, I couldnt imagine Durban without it and will always support the amazing coffee & community culture theyre cultivating.

I found a hidden gem today when in the area. As I walked in I was greeted with a warm smell of freshly roasted coffee, and even warmer smiles on the staff.The coffee is masterfully brewed by the barrister and rates in my top 5.The light snack menu is a decadant and truly worth every cent.I was able to enjoy their FREE wifi and get some work done before heading back to Ballito.Well done Lineage for this truly warming experience

We were in KZN for the Easter weekend and I was excited to make a pilgrimage to Lineage.We were not disappointed.The space is awesome, its a gear-heads dream... Plenty of fantastic gear to salivate over and dream of owning one day (that single group Strada 😍)The chocolate cake is some of the best Ive ever had and I couldnt recommend it more.I wouldve loved to see 2 (or more coffees) available in store, but the blend on offer was tasty (I still maintain 1 of those beans is a natural 😋) and the milk treatment on my flat white was spot on.Picked up some beans from the store and really enjoyed the experience.An awesome spot and a MUST VISIT for any coffee lover visiting KZN!

Excellent coffee and reasonably priced café food made from excellent healthy ingredients sourced from top suppliers. Lineage has a delightful buzz with the roastery in the back and animated discussion about the various coffees they sell.

Lineage serves some really good coffee. They change the roast on a regular basis also so its always different. For those with a sweet tooth be sure to try out the Chocolate Croissants! You may need to get in earlier to have one as they can be a little limited.

LOVE their Lattes. It is the only place where I drink lattes without sugar because its so good on its own. The staff are super friendly and hard working. And the vibe within the shop is country meets chic.I do think that the front door needs to be made more obvious as the front door. Its confusing for a new customer as to where to go in. 😊

I love Lineage Coffee and the brand they sell, sad that they left Warercrest Mall. I would rate higher but, my wife and I stopped for a coffee on a Monday afternoon while a photo shoot was going. We felt like we were taking up their space and felt unwanted, we quickly drank our cappuccinos and left. Not a cool experience as we really wanted to hang around and relax.

Coffee was a bit acidic for me but thats the style of this place and many people love it.

I thought there were lots of coffee shops in Hillcrest but today discovered there is only one - Lineage - and a whole lot of wannabes. A smiley, warm welcome from staff obviously passionate about their work, in an unpretentious venue serving the greatest coffees I have tasted in a long long time. The atmosphere is pervaded by the rich aroma of roasting coffee and my double espresso was served with a glass of cold water on the side - so civilised.

An excellent cappuccino made by friendly, brilliant baristas is enough reason to visit. The bacon and avo on rye with softly boiled eggs is another. Add to that a cool vibe and some smooth jazz playing in the background, and you have no excuse not to pop into Lineage.
