Having one of the gourmet burgers from what one would deem never possible just blew my mind away. The jalapeno burger was simply delicious... one that Id travel far to have again.Served with an equally decent cappuccino is all one needs to put a smile on your face.

I purchased meat last week on the 1 October and most of the shelf fridge items was spoilt the chicken had such a bad Odour when it was melted and the steak with marinate was actually sour when cooked Im really disappointed

This is my one stop shop – butcher, baker, deli, coffee shop, quick bite, burgerlicious stop, wood fire pizzas and the list goes on. I have to stop at this place every time I’m in Durbs. Even if I’m visiting the city for the day I’ll do a well wrapped takeway. Their burgers are the best – the patty is made in house, so be sure to get the best quality meat and unique taste. What attracts me to the deli is its modern and elegant layout – chandeliers, industrial racks and concrete pillars. It has a very welcoming atmosphere and the service is really good. They also offer a lovely weekend buffet breakfast. Trust me, you will be walking out with something extra for later.

We decided to have lunch at Continental on a Sunday. Was a bit quite so it was peaceful and relaxing. Food was top notch and I loved the gourmet drinks that they offer. Service was excellent.

Amazing selection of baked goods,their freshly baked breads and buns are really amazing.On the butchery side their mince is good other items are not so grand and over priced.Staff are friendly with good attitude....... Cashier is a little too friendly though.

Always buy meat and baked goods here. Bought sausages this week and when prepared we got a slight smell. Upon testing it it was sour and gone off.I called the Deli and was informed that their freezers were not working and the meat had gone offI ALREADY ATE THIS AND COULD GET SICK FROM IT ,,HOW COULD YOU GUYS LEAVE THE MEAT IN THERE THEN? DISGUSTING TRULY ,,HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED AND HOPE I DONT FALL ILL. DONT CARE FOR A REFUND BUT DO CARE ABOUT MY HEALTH.

Bread rolls were dry and crumbly like they were going stale. Same with the almond loaf cake which was dry and just crumbled when cut. Marinated braai chops were very mediocre....almost tasteless. The dhaniya sausages were dry and not juicy inside. Very disappointed with continental this time. They usually have good quality... not sure what happened.

This review is for the umhlanga gateway branch. Got in the store at 17:35, 25mins before closing time, and was told that they cannot prepare(braai) my meat for me. I wasnt even asked how much I am buying or how they can assist. It was going to be just 2 pieces of meat. This is just lazy staff bringing down the name of a good place.

The food here is excellent. Taste wise there arent many places in Durban which can compare. The prices are reasonable as well for similar dining experiences. The presentation of the food is good with an eclectic style in the dining ware. That being said the service is slow and the staff could be more friendly and prompt when serving patrons. All in all I would recommend this place as the food is good.

The variety and the quality of the food is great. They have a restaurant, butchery, bakery and frozen foods. They also have a vertical garden the length of the the wall at the entrance. The owner of the shop did not have a mask on when he was walking around the shop chatting to customers. Covid protocol is slack.

Been buying sausages and lamb chops over last few years.Bought sausages and premarianted lamb chops yesterday.. .it was terrible.While being as well as after being grilled..it smelt terrible.The sausages had a taste that was totally off.Clearly meat that was gone off was used in the sausage filling..The marinated chops as well was off.Very disappointed as I used to buy from them previously and never had a problem.Will not go back...disgusting.

I stopped at the Continental for lunch. Its such a fantastic concept having a butchery, bakery and deli all in one. The place has such a lovely atmosphere, the service was excellent and the meal was very well-presented and so fresh and tasty. I would highly recommend it and would definitely like to go there again!

My colleagues and I literally work within 500 meters of this place.We ordered 3 tikka chickens and chips. The taste was incredible, however, half way through, two of us (one of which was me) noticed that the chicken looked a little pink and to my dismay it was RAW (may as well have asked to be murdered - because I’m not sure if you are aware that salmonella can kill people!!!)So I gave them call and was told to bring it back and I could get a refund on the goods purchased (especially when it’s close to a good R70 for a quarter chicken and chips),to which I packed both up in the same containers they came in and walked on to lovely old Continental where I was greeted by a lovely young black lady who works in the restaurant and she very gladly helped me find the man I had spoken to. The guy I spoke to was busy in the butchery so I was handed over to another man, where he took my parcels and proceeded to the kitchen/pizza oven area, where he put more sauce on it straight from the container (as mentioned above, we had already eaten some) & recooked it. I was given my half eaten meals and a few extra chips and walked on back to my office, only to find that our chicken was still RAW!!!!!!Oh yes, further to the above their excuse for a raw chicken was that 3 staff members didn’t show up for work - PS: not my problem...I was absolutely flabbergasted that they would recook a half eaten meal and not refund my monies - after all I could have died from SALMONELLA!!!WILL NOT BE GOING BACK - EVER!!! Nor will I recommend it to a blind man!Never mind the fact that this store is so expensive, they don’t even allow their staff to walk through the front door because only the bosses or managers are allowed to - just FYI, you’re all equals without that title!I received the response that I should contact them, however, they had their time to shine & unfortunately this light has gone out...

This was my first time visiting the new store and I thoroughly enjoyed myself! The setup looks really good and inviting, I didnt get a chance to eat at the deli, however I had a chance to eat food heated in the pizza oven which was delicious. Was a bit disappointed though with the ice cream. Expected it to be much tastier... All in all, a good experience!

Veloshni Govender @ I totally agree with you they chops , ribs and red meat Items are terrible and they price is absolute ridiculous for something that still has that animal smell they are the so quite compare to Star Deli and Desai, they presentation is very good that I will give them that but most of there Items do not tast what they look like. I think they rent is added to the products and the products are not the same level as Desai and Star meat deli. Sad they use to be great when they were at Ridge road just dont know what went wrong.

If youre looking for something different to get for the kitchen or cooking, this is a good place to visit. Clean butchery with quality meat. Interesting selection on menu and they serve a proper tasting cappuccino. Go see if you like it.

Expected more variety on the Buffet breakfast. Waiters far too slack with the drinks. No juices available. Too much uncertainty with regards to foods that are not part of the buffet.But the food that was available was quite good.

Tried the fried chicken and the classic Burgers, very tasty and Very filling. But very disappointed with the chips. They are the worst I have tasted. Unless you have a thing for burnt soggy fried chips, then this would be the place to go! CHIP IS ABSOLUTELY YUCKY!!! Suggestion: Rather serve without chips .... Will get you a four star hands down.

Bought 3 Madeira cakes to take along to people I was visiting while I was in Durban. They were not baked properly. Very disappointing.

It was Fathers Day, only space for breakfast buffet, so we had to go elsewhere even though 2 tables were empty, went to Al Kebabish, much better lunch there

This small cafe, bakery, market and butcher was a great find. They had a wide variety of goods available at really affordable prices. The only downside, the service from the bakery wasnt good. Overall, I highly recommend it.

Had the Rocco Filler Burger (or something).. the mutton patty was under-cooked and the smell in the restaurant was terrible, almost as if the place has not had a proper clean up in months (or years).. Regret eating there. Definitely wont eat there again..

Amazing products and best service

4 different waiters served us.We ordered with one who went off shift. Second one came from the bakery and we had to repeat the order, which when served was wrong. She did not want to serve our water glasses. That is with the third waiter. Last we ordered two coffees waited 12 minutes and had to cancel. By that time we had finished our desert anyway.
