Good afternoon Samantha, ty so much for everything. I would like to tell you at Bamboo Sushi lounge that you are rated the best! Have been to so many sushi paces, but yours exceeded by far as the best!! Will rate you 10 if I could, but you definitely get a 5 on Google. Your food and service was next level! See you again soon. An assuming storefront off the road led us into a charming little restaurant. While the service was friendly and efficient, the food was a mixed bag.. we had the calamari to start and while it was delicious and crispy, the portion felt just a shy too small for the price. For the main course, I had the chilli bean chicken while my friend tried their sweet and sour prawn stir fry.. his prawns were cooked perfectly with a great sauce, but my chicken was a little overdone... the sauce was pleasant, but nothing exciting.Dessert was disappointing, as the deep fried ice cream lacked the crispy texture one would expect from a deep fry. It was a sad way to end a meal.I have no doubt their sushi is great as the conveyor we sat next too looked amazing... but as for the food we tried, the best way to sum it up would he satisfactory.Hopefully the sushi will be a better experience.
Love the food. Excellent service and very consistent.
Loved the prawn Californian rolls and the steamed dumplings that i ate previously. Its great value for money. And service is prompt and efficient.I know where to satisfy my sushi cravings.
Just had sushi from there again, and was very fresh and the best sushi by far compared to any other sushi place
Service was decent and professional.I have shellfish allergies which I communicated upfront and proceeded to order a variety of salmon sushi..unfortunately I reacted to the sushi after enjoying it at first, I believe there was some cross contamination when it was being prepared - if you have severe shellfish allergies rather avoid it because its not worth it. Ive ordered from other sushi places before and they paid special attention and care to preparing my non-shellfish order separately.
Wow....was very lovely....half price sushi, the portions was good and very delicious ππππ..will definitely be back for more. The waiter was very friendly and extremely helpful πΊπΊπΊ
I am very surprised by bamboo sushi lounge. It does not look like much from the outside but inside you will find a delicious sushi restaurant. My friends and I had their all you can eat buffet which was great. We ate ourselves sick full of sushi. We also got spring rolls, tempura crab stick and dessert, all included in the buffet. This is by no means a cheap excursion as the buffet is expensive at R250 per person however it was really great. They have a fantastic selection of freshly made sushi on the menu and on the conveyer belt. They also have a selection of wok dishes which I personally did not have so I cannot say much about. I did however see other patrons order these items and they looked wonderful. All in all we had a fantastic time and thoroughly enjoyed everything we ate. The service was great too! It was expensive though and so I cannot give 5 stars as I have had sushi buffets at lower prices.
Really loved the food the Japanese theme was lovely especially if u are a weeb, Really loved it β€ recommendedπ
Great taste and always fast
Good food but with regards to the service received from the delivery service you guys use its absolutely ridiculous, I ordered food at 18:19pm via the app and its now over 2 hours later and i have not received my food this is beyond ridiculous i have complained to the owner about the service before and still nothing was done its sad how customer feedback isnt taken seriously with this business.
Simple ordering process and really great, fresh sushi. Portions are great too
Lovely, clean and good quality ingredients make this an ideal restaurant to get your sushi fix on. Half price sushi most days and R250 gets you all you can eat from the roundabout. The staff are friendly and the sushi is perfectly acceptable. I have had better but for the price point it dosnt disappoint. Would like to see low sodium soy sauce on the tables though and not only the usual high sodium. Expect to pay around +-R150pp for a good amount of susi (after the 50% off regular price) excluding drinks. In my opinion its best to opt out of the all you can eat option and just select from the menu. I can eat alot of sushi in a sitting and the sushi i selected from the menu was more than enough and still came to a good R100 less than the buffet option. All and all it was a lovely experience and i will be coming back. Well done to the staff for making our evening enjoyable.
Always spot on with their sushi. A suggestion to get onto Mr D π.
The sushi was everything, the brΓ»lΓ©e sushi is the best. And I had prawn noodles, with ample prawns. The service could be improved, as I went twice and there was confusion as to who was taking my order resulting in me having to order twice and wait longer for my food. The parking is near impossible to find, and if you do find a spot, itβs worth it. I would steer clear of the sweetened prawn roll, there are huge dollops of sweet mayo on the roll, very unappetizing. However, still good sushi. The cucumber salad that comes with the noodles was really good.
Ordered take away. We enjoyed the sushi
Food was great but the service needs attention.
Food was good. I didnt like the fact that we couldnt dine in.
The food is outstanding, consistently good and the meal is always ready within the time frame given.
The sushi is good... However when it mentions it is half price all day everyday... It means the portions are half as well... Lets say salmon roses comes in 4 pieces at another restaurant for lets say 40 bucks, bamboo sushi lounge will give 2 you for 25 bucks... Not unreasonable... But not the best Ive had..
I love their sushi deal available daily but their wines and other items on the menu are highly priced so at the end of the day it looks like the highly priced items more than make up for the discount on the sushi plus on the belt you mostly get the two highest priced plates running and for the entire time we sat there there was only one of the lowest priced plate π........ just things we noticed. But overall I enjoyed the sushi and will def go back again. The ginger is not shaved pieces instead chopped, chunky pieces that looked old and when we enquired we were told , thats just how we do it. ππππ Gotta love Durban
This is a good sushi place, however there are better places to eat. Poor parking and small seating area. The variety of sushi is acceptable. Miss the Durban north venue as this was much better and more consistent. They should make changes while its still possible to not lose more customers
The sushi here is excellent. Some of the best I have tasted in Durban. The atmosphere was good with the latest dance music being played. The service was excellent and the half price sushi special everyday is definitely a drawcard. Sushi bar and tables provide ample seating space for the size of the store. Oh and did I mention? The sushi was amazing
The sushi and Bamboo Sushi Lounge is absolutely delicious. It is one of the best sushi places that I have been to.
Love this place! Their sushi is the most affordable! Half price everyday and is very delicious! From fried to noodles.. totally worth it! I wish they put the buffet again on Saturday not only on Sunday but anyway I will recommend this place to everyone!!
Loved it! Great sushi and a nice atmosphere! π Even a friend enjoyed some of their sushi and he doesnt like fishy things. Definitely going back(again)
The sushi is always fresh and satisfying when you have that sushi craving, prices are reasonable and staff are friendly and helpful. They stir fry dishes are also amazing and are huge portions for a very reasonable price. This is definitely one of my top 5 sushi places...If you have been to Tommys at kloof and like that sushi but want a place you can actually sit in with friends or family then bamboo is a place to check out.
Half price sushi marketing gimmick. Average food and poor service. They forgot a part of our order and when we left after waiting 20 minutes they asked if we wanted to have our missing sushi as a take away. Clear scheme to get customers to eat off of the conveyer belt. Would not recommend at all!
Was here on a quiet nite. Looks like nice place. Have to admit the music was not my style. Think it would work better in crouded place. Waitress is very nice. Sushi had sweet source all over everything.
I love sushi... And they did it for me ππ£
Was in and out in 30 minutes. Quickest lunch Ive had. Service delivery was great! Sushi tasted good
Best sushi, prices and service in durban!
So there are a number of Sushi bars around Umhlanga and theyre all pretty good. But if you want exceptional, great value, fresh sushi in a cool setting with a great vibe, the Bamboo Sushi Lounge is for you. Dont take my word for it. Check it out yourself.
Great sushi bar with the traditional conveyor belt to select from. Well priced for all you can eat sushi. The only reason I dont give five stars is because I dont agree with enforced tipping rules on the bill. Im going to tip anyway because I always have a good time - you dont have to force me.
Friendly, very helpful staff, went in for a takeaway, lovely sushi and noodles. Food was ready in a flash and the waiter was kind enough to bring it to the car. Thank you!
Great deals! Sushi is fresh and not badly priced either
Fresh sushi. Tidy and clean surfaces. Staff are pleasant and quick with service. Prices are affordable. Good atmosphere for a dinner date with some friends.
Overall it was a pleasant experience. We enjoyed most of the sushi on our Albert Platter and the Tempura Prawns was tasty. Not incredible food, but quite nice
If the price were just a little more reachable, Id eat here at least once a week. Best sushi available.
Great sushi at an all you can eat restaurant! Price is good, especially if you go on an empty stomach. The waiter Kamil is especially helpful. Ive been several times and only issue I had was one piece if sushi was off which I promptly spat out. Not bad given the 100s of pieces of sushi I must have consumed here.
R250 per person for a Sushi Buffet including Starters and Dessert. Xcellent choices and large variety. I think u must give this one a try. will be back soon
Fantastic sushi and service. Probably the best value for money in Durban with their 50% off deals.
Rice not sticky enough and so everyone fell apart.Size of each roll too big you can hardly put in the mouth in one go.Not sure how anyone can deem this place one of the top in Umhlanga, they obviously donβt know good sushi.
Lovely. Nice small spot for a Sushi bar experience or just order from menu. Sushi is very good, not overcrowded and offers half price sushi all day, every day! Try the chefs specials.
Really not bad for Chinese food. Im not a fan of sushi but the noodle and rice meals they have available are proper Chinese portions. Try the prawn dishes, theyre lovely.
Great service! Great sushi! Value for money and the buffet was absolutely worth it!
Fresh sushi and fresh Wasabi.Small, but very good atmosphere. Fried rice is amazing! Be sure to add some chillli. Will definitely make this place a regular spot.
Excellent sushi! Brilliant service! Fast and took great care in making us feel special.
Food and management are great. Quick service.
This is my favorite sushi restaurant. I make a special trip from Durban to come here. Friendly, helpful staff and amazing food. Great value for money.
Had an entirely delicious meal. Sushi - amazing. Tofu dishes - amazing. Noodles - amazing. Spicy, hot, fresh. Good service.
Service on point! The food exceeded all my expectations. We sat in silence as we ate. Delicious!
I always love this place. Delicious sushi at a good price.
Excellent sushi and friendly staff, highly recommend
Have to say, I usually love the sushi from here. While it did taste great as always, this experience was not good. All my sushi just disintegrated as I picked it up with chopsticks. Nothing was compacted properly. Everything fell apart. So disappointing
Relaxed atmosphere with great originality in their variety
Average restaurant but not a big variety of sushi. It do however cater for vegetarians. Be on the lookout for some nice specials
The tasiest and freshest Sushi in Durban! A favourite is the Sweet Prawn. Yum!
Friendly staff and amazing sushi at the coolest specials. The Chefs creations are delicious and a definite must try!
Always excellent food quality and service.
Very good sushi and great service.
Great for a quick sushi stop... although the sushi on the belt needs to have more variety to choose from
Worth every cent, better prices than John Dorys and the atmosphere is light with a polite and respectful staff.
Friendly and accommodating, sushi not bad
Love this place. Great sushi.
Good quality sushi at a reasonable price.
Excellent sushi menu...my luck half price Wednesdayβs. Wide variety of sushi on the menu a must of you looking for good sushi in Umhlanga
This place made me a sushi lover. The buffet has to be my favourite buffet in Durban! Nice touches like free wifi and friendly staff make this a place youll be happy to come back to
Nice Oriental restaurant good service and great will made food. Highly recommend it as a nice cozy place.
Always a winner, nice owner run restaurant friendly starf always fresh, nice tasty sushi
We had really lovely half-price sushi today. Very helpful & polite waitress.
Really good sushi at great prices. We have always had friendly and efficient service.
Friendly service with a clean and fresh atmosphere. The food was tasty and the portions are generous.
They make excellent sushi. The staff are very friendly and treat us like family. We use to be regular customers but circumstances and the massive accident I was in stopped us from going since I now am not working anymore.
Sushi so fresh and service was outstanding!
