If you have a motor plan, you can claim for almost anything and it will be covered. If you dont have one, be prepared to pay big bucks. And some dealerships have the habit of changing stuff just cos you have a Motor plan.

Good selection of pre owned vehicles.

They do not respond to queries. One can only get hold of service manager per email. They were not interested in repairing my car after they phoned me to buy a new car whilst my car was in for repairs and I refused. I found it very unprofessional . Will definitely not use their services again unless a necessity.

This will be my second post regarding my experience with SMG BMW Durban. Again I have to give top marks to the team at SMG. I had the unpleasant experience of having the roof lining catch in the roof mechanism of the 2 series convertible which I found out was a common fault and even a recall of all 2 series convertibles manufactured between 2016 and 2018 (pre facelift) I called and made a booking for them to have a look and give me an idea to the extent the damage and how much the repair would cost but as the car is still under warranty and the fault was of no consequence of my own actions it was covered by my maintenance plan and warranty. It took a while for the parts to arrive from Germany and when it arrived I was given a call to bring the car in so I did. About 4 or 5 days later I was called to pick up the car as it had been fixed but as I was looking the repair over I noticed that the roofs rubber lining wasnt lining up well and there was a piece of cable that was not fastened correctly (BMW sends convertibles out to an approved auto trimmer to do the repair work) so I brought this to the attention of the service manager who said he would get back to me and arrange for it to be sent back and fixed properly but this time I would be given a loan car in the meantime so that I could still do everything I needed to do while this was being rectified. I dropped off the car and was given a near new 2020 3 series to drive till mine was fixed properly and the following day my car was ready for me to pick up. Truthfully I wouldnt mind driving the new 3 series for a few more days as it is one seriously nice car to drive. Iv always said its smart to give a loan car thats new and a model up from your own because it makes you consider upgrading. It might not have a convertible roof but there is little else that the 2020 BMW 3 series does not have. It was a pleasure dealing with SMG Durban and they once again surpassed my expectations. Of all my reviews of car dealerships SMG has never failed to make me feel like im important to them and they truly want to be the best representatives of their brand as possible. They advertise cars and when you try to buy they raise the price under the excuse that bmw Sa wants more money for it because there is a finance on the car. Boyd and dealer principal Trevor Meyer promised to do their best and although apologized.... Never came with a response nor a solution... Absolutely useless. A big scandal of a bmw dealership. Shame on you guys.

When I collected my vehicle, the battery had been run flat, grease marks were left on the upholstery, gear housing was lying open and my engine covers had not been placed back on the engine. At the very least my car should have been given back to me in the state that it was handed to SMG. SMG Durban, youve left this customer with a very bitter taste in my mouth.

When a 320d ranges from 650k to 900k.Thats when you know its time to leave the building.Having done this a dozen times before I know that the exact same car will be worthless in 2 years.Oddly nobody else seems to perceive how utterly wrong this is.

Great service , very accommodating . Even when 3rd party people offer bad service(glass-fitters) the members of the business are attentive to their customers and this flows down through the business. Ensuring your problems are resolved. Hence why they are often at capacity .

Driving along the N3 today 26 November 2018 at 3.10 pm just past the spaghetti junction -white panel van registered SMG 64 came driving right up behind me doing approximately 160km per hour. I moved out the way and they shot past. Not good advertising for SMG if their drivers cannot obey the law.

I bought a car at SMG, firstly the car was over priced by almost over 70k thank Good the bank refused to pay and then they called be to fetch the car but the car was not serviced and the shocks were not changed. how can a car be handed over to a customer without being checked properly. extremely disappointed

Drive side windows controller shorted due to an excess amount of leather care used by the people in Alberton that detailed my car. While the dealership didnt have the part readily available, it is the best reception I have ever had at a BMW dealership, and one of the gents at the dealership referred me to someone that had the part locally available, and even made the call to confirm on my behalf. A far cry from the normal BMW dealer modus operandi
