We enjoyed a lovely weekend of peace and rest in a relaxing bushfeld setting. I can highly recommend this lodge to anyone who wants to get out of the big city. Just a ston throw away from Pretoria in the tranquil Dinokeng. There are a lot of thing to see and do in the area.

Staff and owners were very helpful and lovely people. We booked the flycatcher room which was next door to a filthy, dark toilet.Activities that are on the website dont exist there instead theres an old scrap car under the tree, careful what is said on the web.I wont go back EVER!

With Joelle Audrey - I am from France, I had a wonderful time in KwaThabisile Game Lodge and I dream to go back to this relaxing and beautiful place with nice hosting people.Alexandra is welcoming us in her beautiful lodge where all appartments have a special atmosphere, different from the others. Everybody feels at home. The garden where the Jacarandas were blooming, is wonderful, full of flowers and exotic plants, birds and small wild animals as well as Springbocks and zebras crossing or drinking in the swimming-pool in the morning.Sunsets are stunning. Helped with Rachel, Doubt and some other nice people, Alexandra was also providing a fantastic South-African food for the 3 meals, as well as good S-A wine, that we enjoyed around the fire Under the stars. KwaThabisile Game Lodge is a unique experience that I highly recommend.

From the main city centres, a short trip along the main road and down a dirt road brings you to Kwathabisile, nestled amongst big shady trees and the low rolling hills of Dinokeng. Upon arrival, you are directed to your accommodation unit and eager hands are there to assist with unloading your vehicle. The seven accommodation units are arranged in a semi-circle and interlinked with walkways that criss-cross underneath one of the huge trees. A sparkling pool with relaxing furniture is located close-by. The surrounding gardens are well kept and maintained. The unit we occupied was comfortably furnished with a sufficiently stocked kitchenette, catering for your basic needs. Although the units are located in close proximity to each other, they still provide enough privacy. An ample supply of firewood is supplied at a small charge.Alex and Kai, the hosts, are friendly and engaging and keen to assist with any requests that might arise. Their friendly dogs often come to visit and make sure that everything is still in order!Kwathabisile provides the ideal venue to unwind and de-stress. In addition to this, it also caters for family get-togethers, team-building exercises and small conferences.A visit is recommended!

A bit over-priced for what you get. Rooms are clean and staff is friendly. In the room we stayed in, there was no bath in the bathroom, there was also no oven, which was a bit strange for a self-catering place. The water-pressure in the showers were almost non-existing and the water didnt even spray. There were also some dogs on the premises (I think these were the owners dogs). The dogs were very friendly, but they were a nuisance: over the weekend we stayed there, there were many occasions that the dogs pushed the garbage bins over to get to left-over food and leaving a mess in the kitchen. I wont recommend the place.

“We had an excellent time on the lodge. We spent a whole week there with our little twins. We stayed in the Chameleon Chalet, instead of the booked Duiker. It has two bedrooms and was more convenient to us. The chalets have nice interieur and are equipped with all you need. All of them have nice verandas with a barbecue or fire place. The property is weel kept, relaxing, quiet with great views and a refreshing pool. You can see zebras, warthogs, impalas ... Prince, the manager, and his team are lovely and make sure you have all you need and that you feel comfortable. Dinokeng Game Reserve is worth a visit, also the big 5 seems to hide very much ;-) If we would live in Gauteng, it would definetly our weekend gateaway, which we would visit very often.”
