It is simply the worst Wimpy ever! The tables are left with dirty surfaces and dishes that is clearly not according the covid-19 regulations. The waiters does not pay attention to their duties such as cleaning tables, accommodating clients or serve food in time. I personally would not recommend this Wimpy.

I cannot agree with poor service reviews at this Wimpy. Efelyn, the lady that served us at our table, was friendly and helpful. She first sanitized the table before allowing us to take our seats. We ordered at the table of the menu. We always stop here on our way to and from Cape Town and thats been part of our road trips now for 24 years. Thank you for your friendly service.

The place is dirty!! The tables and chairs are not arranged properly. The food took long and I had to fetch the milk for my tea from the counter. Its clearly a lack of management. Such a pity, cause it is such a landmark with so much potential if ran properly!

Staff more interested in standing around than offering assistance, and when they do its simply to tell you that first need to order before you can sit down. Food, that was available, took very long to arrive, considering small number of patrons.In short, in future will plan our trip to avoid eating here. Rest of facilities deserve better!

We waited more than an hour for breakfast. We woke up at 3am to complete our 13 hour drive, and had to waste more than an hour at Wimpy. The food was oily. The tables were dirty. We had to order at the take away since there were no waiters when we entered. Please contact Harrismith’s Wimpy and ask them how to render proper service. Of they can do breakfast in 10minutes then so can you.

Useless staff...Useless management...Never experienced such level of idiotic in my life..Order an ice cream and syrup.. waited 35min for the waiter to tell me there is no syrup and the ice cream machine is NOT WORKING...stay away of this place...

The worst wimpy Ive been. We actually just left.Arrived very confused - because you need to order to sit down? Secondly, the person taking orders doesnt at all seem friendly or concerned to assist you. And Finally, they had a problem with FNB on the go vouchers - and while I understand there is little the person can do - they showed absolutely no worry or care to help.Never ever stopping at this Engen/Wimpy again.

Obviously predominantly travellers use this facility. Therefore time is somewhat important and the service really slow. Coffee only (after I insisted) at 20 minutes. Food at 35 minutes. Too much time wasted here. Dont stop here

Light and spacious restaurant. Good food. Seemed to be bigger portions than other Wimpys.Efficient, friendly service. Was quite hot and had some persistent flies around us.

When we came into the Wimpy there was a crowd of people who were waiting to be seated. The waiters looked at the group of people and provided no assistance. After placing our order we waited about 40 minutes to receive our food (without the drinks that we ordered). We had to remind the waiter of our drinks that we then received midway through our meal. It also felt that the Wimpy was short-staffed.

Good day,We stopped for breakfast on Monday 05/04 and ordered W-B/fast B/SB x2; PB-Cappuccino Mega x2 and a W-K Frank at 09:43 - we received just the W-B/fasts 30 min later which was not even hot, and I had to go back TWICE to ask where the rest of my order was. We had already finished our breakfast when I received my grandsons food and our coffees. While we were waiting we read through all the COMPLAINTS on this site going back 11 months including most resent, where all customers are complaining about the service, the lack of friendliness and the cold food and all the responses are the same - we do apologise - we will look into it yet it is still the same. Why change from a sit-down and being served - which worked, to a take-away sit-in scenario WHICH CLEARLY DOES NOT WORK??!! - Monday was the last time we stopped there - next time we will find another place to stop and enjoy our breakfast/lunch.I tried posting this and did not allow me unless I selected a STAR above - well you are not worthy of even the ONE star I gave you!!! but had no choice cause I needed to post this.

Absolute chaos. Nine people who ordered after us were served first. Our order never got prepared. Then we were handed the wrong order which means we overpayed. Will never ever go to this Wimpy ever again. Really let the brand down. Do yourself a favour and stop at the Shell Ultra City 4km away.

Pathetic. Me and the two people in front of me waited almost an hour for our food. My burgers was cold, I saw how they put it in the bag 15 minutes after I placed my order, after about 40 minutes my chips wasnt done. Sies, I requested a refund, went to the Steers, excellent service, they were extremely busy, 15 minutes later we ate the best burgers in town!!! And cheaper. If you are in a hurry stay away from Wimpy Colesburg.

A modern well equipped fast food centre. The staff and management are professional and capable of working under extreme high demand conditions. They almost speak all the language of the RSA. Food is always fresh and of high quality.

I was disappointed after waiting 15 minutes for a milkshake only to find that it had been made long before I got it (I eventually asked where it was) and it was melted and not very cold. I understand they were busy but would have appreciated an apology at least.

Has great entertainment for the kids. Waited long for our order due to the amount of people choosing wimpy as a breakfast restaurant on route to their various holiday destinations. Waited 45 min for breakfast for four people.

Although the waitress was super friendly the food and drink service was appalling. We waited for ages before we got service. We waited a further 25 min for drinks to arrive. When my partner went to the counter to ask where our food and drinks were no apology was given nor any attempt to find out what was happening with our food. In the time we were sitting hardly any food was reaching the tables and takeaway seemed to be the piority.

Please clean the play area stream, its slippery and dangerous. Matter of time till a child slips and knocks his head on a rock.

29 December 2019. Wimpy extremely dirty. Ice cream and coffee machines filthy. Supplies all over the place on the floor behind the chaotic counter. The Staff members (way too many) handle food with bare hands, fingers in cups, wipe surfaces with dirty cloths. It was so disgusting to watch that we canceled our order. It is just unacceptable to see standards drop this way. Nó awareness of hygiene. I’m saddened by this. I honestly wish there was one positive thing I could mention.

Its a lovely place. Great place. Play area with water feature for kids to play in. Highly recommend anyone stop there for a meal and to stretch your legs.

Worst restaurant experience Ive ever had. Waited 40min and a waiter never came to take our order. We were rudely told to keep waiting when we asked if someone could come to the table. This was all while sitting in the blistering heat. We ended up leaving since nobody even so much as looked at us. The owners and managers should be ashamed. Disgusting.

Normally I have great service here. Today we waited very long for the food and our order was wrong, causing us to be late for an appointment. It was not even busy, so pretty disappointing to receive this service.

Shocking takeaway service. After waiting for half an hour at an empty store, the till lady realised that only half the order had been fulfilled. After a short investigation it was understood that the front and back kitchen (what?!) Didnt communicate and the message was not received by the back kitchen to make the second half of the order which was well below decent standard. Now, not only was it npt explained to me without me asking a series of questions, but the manager didnt even come out speak to me until I asked to speak to them. I find this kind of service to be utterly disappointing and I regret using them as my stop. Its very safe to say that I will never go back there, and I will encourage friends and family who regularly do the trip to rather use another garage.

We were there the morning and went back an hour later and the table that we sat at the morning was still just as we left it. Shocking service. Ordered drinks with 4 different people and then got told 20 mins later there is no coke. Nobody served us for 15 mins after we arrived. This is meant to be a place where you can have a quock stop re-route to your destination. Instead we spent an hour of our travel time here just trying to get food for our kids. Cant believe how badly this place is run!

Earlier this afternoon (5th Jan 2020) a group of friends and I visited the engen 1 stop wimpy @colesburg.We visit this stop every quarter, even though it isnt on our route. We have shared many wonderful memories at this stop.Although today was different, We were not seated and not greeted. We were given menus by a very unfriendly young lady... Whom didnt care to introduce herself or return to take an order... After the better part of an hour we decided to place an order at the counter, which we could not since the counter only serves take aways.Service was non-existant we left the stop without any refreshments nor any good memories.

One of the best Wimpys I have visited. Great service - modern and very clean restrooms. Parking under grapevines. My visit was a pleasant experience.

Utterly shocking and disgusting experience on 06/01/20.Staff incompetent and neverminded towards clients. Left without being helped after being seated for 30 minutes. The manageress equally unhelpfull and incompetent!!!

Newly renovated, with Wimpy you know what you get. General toilet right at the back and it feels if everyone now passes through the Wimpy while you eat. Not a good design.

The food was okay except for the fries..they were oily and had a bad taste. The service was friendly and fast but they were not that busy on the Tuesday. The indoor playground is very small.

Waited very long for our toasted cheese sandwiches. Had to ask for the fries we ordered with our our sandwiches. No salt for the fries. The toasted cheese sandwiches were tasteless.Not a good experience.

If I could give negative stars I would. This Wimpy is an absolute and utter trainwreck of a customer service experience. On a roadtrip from Cape Town to Durban, stopping here has added 3hrs(no exaggeration) to our trip and has been THE single worst experience I have had in any restaurant. Visit at your own peril.

Waited 20min for milk that had an idea of being coffee, a salted Carmel milkshake that tasted like a watered down Sterri Stumpi and an hour for food that never arrived and two tables next to us had the same service so we all left without food because we still had a long drive ahead.

Space for kids to play inside and outside. Extemely busy this time of the year, but we received what we ordered and did not wait too long. Food was good.

Slowest wimpy I have ever been to. Took 30 minutes and the intervention of the manager to get drinks and another 45 to get food. Not recommended. Try KFC next door rather.

Friendly service but we waited some time for our food.

Good friendly service. Clean shop. Food come out fast and overall good experience. Will suggests it for travellers. Enough parking and a nice safe playground for kids. Feel secure although there were one or two beggers. Only drawback is it is a spider web of roads leading to wimpy /garage, so one needs to focus.

Great food and facilities . Service was good and efficient . To those negative reviews, yes the place is on a busy route and don’t expect speedy service like Jozi in the slow and relaxed Karoo during peak season .
