The food is great, and prices are reasonable, the service could be better. I would recommend this place if you are craving sushi!

If your looking for a healthier option to eat out. First trip to Yamakado and it was OK but the sushi is a rip off as they cut the fish so thin so that youre really only eating rice, guess its cause it attracts the eat as much as you like crowds. Service was prompt and seems to have a vibe going on. A clean and fresh look to the decor. This little restaurant seems to be owner managed and they are on top of things but once again I think they are over priced and out to max thier profits. I can recommend the vibe but not the value . 💯😎✌️#lifeflow247

Sushi Buffet is great! Really worth the while visiting them!

This specific branch deeply disappointed us. We were excited to give it a go as we have experienced such great food as well as service at The Grove branch.The service was really poor and the sushi buffet was below avarage. The food was very different to that of the other branches. It seems as if the ingredients were really old and re-used. No value for money.We understand that we are in the middle of a pandemic and everyone is struggling however that doesnt justify this kind of service.Goodluck and I hope you guys pull through.

Sushi is alright and affordable when doing the buffet. Other dishes arent so great. Got undercooked/slimy calamari one time which was absolutely disgusting and on another occasion had stringy/tough salmon. Weve also found the soy sauce to be a bit too sweet compared to other restaurants. Staff are pretty good though and friendly. Would still recommend for budget sushi.

The unlimited sushi buffet is outstanding - really delicious options, just simple perfect sushi done really well. It’s nice to sit outside, there’s a sunset view around the terrace corner. Service can be slow when busy

Paid for the sushi buffet but it was not a good experience compared to other sushi buffets I had. There was to little salmon and avokado and too much rice and cucumber. I would rather go to the one in Brooklyn which is better value for money.

All you can eat buffet for R158 is worth it when your feeling hungry. Their sushi is amazing and they have a few twists and unique dishes they offer. Service was great and food was amazing.. a must go!

By far the best and only sushi bar I have been to! Lots of variety just passing your face the whole time. And it is the best tasting sushi in the whole Gauteng.

Ordered takeaway..the sushi was great(and normally always is), unfortunately the chow mein was soaked in oil and noodles overcooked. Im all for an unhealthy takeaway but that was borderline cardiac arrest. This isnt a rant review as I have had good experiences, but rather venting disappointment with an otherwise decent restaurant.

Good sushi and not too pricey

Always have the friendliest reception and the sushi is fantastic. I build my own special treat every time I go by ordering Rice and mayo tofu pouches and chicken yakitori (skewers) and combining them in to a delicious treat. (try it!)One day as I walked in the owner placed an order with the chefs to start getting this special treat prepared for me which is proof that they value their customers.Great service, great sushi, highly recommended.

Food always fresh and service great

The food is good and I think the buffet special worth it. Though for takeaway you do have to check for all the extras, wasabi and ginger. An accident Im sure but we only realised we didnt have either when we arrived home.

Ok for sushi. But the chicken dishes are made with second hand chicken. I call it second hand because the chicken tastes as it has been cooked 2 or 3 days before. Horrible. It looks nice in the pictures though. The waitresses however, totally untrained.

I have visited here a couple of times and their Sushi is really great. I had a long wait time yesterday on a order (busy valentines day) which the manager sorted out, other than that it is always a pleasant experience. From the souces to the rice texture their attention to the details of preperation adds up to great food.

Terrible food. Sweet and sour sauce is watery and full of pepper. Pork was rubbery and tasted like it was 3 years in the freezer. These okes are clearly taking shortcuts to save money rather than prep quality food. Wont be seeing us again.

Your sushi is dry and the fish is old, and the prices keep going up. I remember when they were serving chinese food (crispy chicken) for R48 about a year ago. Now its R68 for even smaller portions. You want to tell me some rice and chicken costs R68?You have just lost a customer.If you want Chinese food, Xin Long is just down the road, with way better prices and even better food.

Price was almost the same as the sushi outlet near Lyttleton yet the portions I got at this outlet were TINY and seemed almost stale. I eat sushi whenever I can and will rather now drive further to get better quality sushi. Sorry but its a no no to me now.

Great atmosphere the service is excellent and the sushi is out of this world! We have been there lots of times and have never had anything to complain about!

All you can eat Sushi is quite alluring, but ultimately it is not very good. It is more rice than anything else.

I went there a few weeks ago. I had the sushi buffet and the rice was hard like it was old and the portions were tiny. They didnt have much stock so pretty much everything we asked for they didnt have like dumplings and golden wrappers.... Our waitress was useless as she always got our order wrong or forgets what we ordered even though I think she wrote it down.

The food is excellent and the buffet option has a wonderful selection. Service is however rather shocking.
