Wow...Im not sure Ill eat at this News Cafe again. Or let me rather say...Ill stay away from the food specials.I ordered one of the specials that they have advertised; Pasta la Vista - Boerie Pasta.The portion was way below what I expected; very small to say the least. But then again, maybe the portion was related to the price. I could literally see the bottom of my dish.It was very dry, the penne was so hard, some parts were even crispy & a bit charred.I ended up requesting a side cheese sauce, which I added to the pasta dish and the additional Tabasco sauce was meals lifesaver.

Very proper and good place to be... but improve the area of toilet, that couch next to entrance of toilet must be removed cos is not enjoyable to have ur food in peace n refreshing air in that space once people exiting the toilet passing by the couch!!!! 2. Dont sell us beer during 30minutes towards bar closing time ,wher should we drink our left over cos we drive at night to our places... let us finish our drinks n 30 before closing dont sell us anything!!! 3. Sound system volume must be normal, down bit during the week please cos we not all came for buzz drink n get drunk, we do our meetings there,work,business, e.t.c

Its a beautiful setup, with amazing drinks and food. The music usually keeps me seated for long. They have great djs on the decks like Mguccifabthedj and Obakeng. But over and above the waiters are really nice. Welcoming.

I was very disappointed at the service I received at News cafe mall at 55 monavoni branch.Arrived there and had to wait at the door for quiet some time before anyone attended to us, we ordered our food and waited over 30 minutes! And only after 30 minutes of waiting the waiter tells us that they don’t have chips, which came as a real shock because it took him an entire 30 minutes to realize that there were no chips!I didn’t ask for a salad as a substitute for the chips, but they gave me breakfast with a salad (under the basis of an assumption that I was going to have the meal with salad!) I was very disappointed about this and to top it off they didn’t have mushrooms which are supposed to come with the meal, but I was not informed about this yet again while placing the orders, yet we still paid the full price for our meals even though the items in the meal were missing.My tea was also delivered with no milk, which led to me having to go stand at the counter to request milk cause my waiter didn’t even ask if I wanted it.That was not good value for money.I had to go to the closest Wimpy to get proper breakfast.This news cafe branch honestly ruined my day!

I was very pleased that the restaurant was open so early, which made it possible for me to have breakfast before my meetings. The breakfast is one of the tastiest that I have had in a while- definitely something I would order again. The only disappointing point was that the menu specifically mentions Toni Glass tea, but when my tea arrived it was a different brand. Other than that a great experience.

I have been there a few times, and had a satisfying experience all-round. Active staff, good management, wide variety of drinks to choose from, and great food. It is located within the Mall@55, which is conveniently placed along the R55 for easy access.
