This checkers offers a very wide variety of grocery items. The fresh produce and food they prepare is very of very high quality. Entering the store can be a hassle, as security tend to want to search through bags from other stores, and other patrons entering can block up access. The queues do tend to get quite long during busier periods, but the queues usually move very quickly.

I was horribly treated by a Cashier named Lesedi at the cigarette counter on 15/10/2021 between 16:00 - 17:00, while her Supervisor stood there and did nothing.I arrived there and there was a lady before me who appeared to be waiting for help. There seemed to be some system glitch...I greeted (was ignored), and waited my turn. Lesedi screamed at me and asked what I wanted. Scared and shook, I asked for a 10 pack of Camel switch. I also asked why she was so upset and screaming at me.She walked me to one other till point. She threw my cigarettes there and shouted youll pay here!! and walked away while her colleagues watched in shock. I told the till packer lady that I was going to complain to Tiaan (one of the manager who is nice to me). I did not as he was busy but chose this platform to state my grievance.

1. I dont know why you allow cash withdrawal from the tellers as you have many patrons waiting in line, surely my shopping is more worth than the commission earned.2. Brilliant 60 minutes initiative, however teach your employees manners, stampeding around the alleys with no consideration of fellow shoppers.

The new look after the renovations finished is excellent. Layout is much better, more modern look. Less warehouse more engaging.Different departments clearly defined and offering a much better shopping experience. More prepared food options available for on the go needs. Fresh sushi for the hungry, or grab some other seafood option.

Checkers in Centurion mall has gone sassy and its awesome! A revamp thats about 10 years overdue but its a treat. Clean & fresh. Produce & product variety is great. In-house coffee shop. Prepare yourself to want everything they have. Well done guys, well done. 👌

Youre lucky i cant give zero stars. This checkers is the worse. I looked at the time on the internet it says 18:30 and that it was updated 7 days ago. When we were in the shop with alot of other people the security called us out because they are closing at 6, with the badest attitude like we are bothering them now. There is no sign of this anywhere. Can this management take 2 min and update the times on the internet. Im sick of shops just doing as they please and not realising without customers you are all out of jobs, and dont get me started on the staff i think the rudest staff members where selected to work at this checkers. Worst checkers ever.

They could try to maintain better stock levels, as the shelves are always empty between 25 and 31st of the month. Why not stock up for those days and not disappoint your loyal customers.

The people in charge here should have seriously considered closing for the period of the construction that is presently going on.The shop looks trashy. Dust covers everything. The pharmacy has been radically shrunk and rendered extremely unsafe. Only half the lights are on.The cheese department has been downsized to one fridge display, with other dairy products moved half the shop away, as if randomly.A huge gap now exists where the cheese department used to be. Light to medium construction occurs in that area. This is dangerous to all concerned - clients and employees get in the way of the workers, and vice versa.Wine is now extremely cheap, almost like a consolation prize offered to the public.There are more employees running around than I knew were in service here.I include pictures of the present look, and a video on which the general pandemonium is both visible and audible. I usually do my grocery shopping at the Centurion store which carries a large range of stock from hardware and toys to fresh produce and everything in between.The Centurion Lake Mall has ample parking, and the open parking is free for the first hour, which is something I take advantage off.The three star rating is because once again, I was not able to find the 1.25L or 500ml Eastern Highlands coconut water, which I purchase in large quantities when available. This, AFTER I had written to Checkers on Facebook and was told that the store had stock. As you can see from the picture posted, there isnt any, so this was a waste of the 15km drive in each direction today.

Their butchery is a nightmare, to make it worse the rude lady at Info give me attitude when I return their foul smelling meat 😡

On 11 January (proof of purchase below), I bought my monthly groceries from Checkers Hyper in Centurion Mall. We are a two person household, so I usually bought my groceries from Woolworths to ensure that it lasts. But, as we all know, times are tough - so I decided to rather go to Checkers twice a month a buy smaller batches.Biggest mistake of my life.The first issue came when I opened the R52 ham on 12 January. It was sticky and sour. I threw it away.The second issue happened when I opened the cauliflower rice on 13 January (which is actually the sell by date on the pack). It was brown and smelled SO BAD - I had to deal with flies and an odor hanging in my house.And then - I cute the watermelon on 13 January as well - worms came out of the watermelon as the flies landed on the stinking piece of pink flesh.I thought this was it - everything that could be off.But no. Last night (18 Jan) I defrost a packet of extra lean mince which I also bought on 11 Jan and froze on 11 Jan.... I mixed it into my 2 x fried onions, 3 x fried tomatoes and 1 x yellow pepper (all wasted ingredients now) - the smell that rose from my mixture was horrendous. I had to take the full pan of food and throw it away.So - trying to save money by shopping at Checkers cost me more than Woolworths. Now I have to drive up and down to get refunds. I have to find the time to do so. I have to buy new products. I have to expose myself to Covid unwillingly.Consumers are struggling and retailers need to step up and provide the quality for what we are supposed to get. This is not okay.

When I go shopping for few items I hold them in my hands,so yesterday I lost my phone by leaving it by the till,30 mins later I came back and I told the security ,they looked and looked but couldnt find it I left the store with disappointment,I called my phone once more today and the lady in the security team answered. In a nutshell they went out of their way to find my phone and I am greatful. Their honesty and dedication restores humanity.

Just love the new layout, you can practically find anything here. Wish every checkers can be this well stocked

1 star is already too muchWanted to get cut meat, stood there for a few minutes, 5 employees saw me (4 were at the fruit section and 1 at the wine section), no one helped. Went to get something at the dessert section, 3 people stood there busy labelling other stuff but no one helped or called someone to help me.Today was the 3rd time that someone bothers me to buy food for them. They follow me through the store and once I go to pay they corner me. I always only have enough to buy the bread and cold cut that I am buying. I also dont have money. It makes one feel unsafe when being followed through a store.Doubt that I will ever go there again.

Checkers Hyper at Centurion Mall. Average Checkers with everything that you have come to expect from a Checkers Hyper. It was built some time back, so Im too keen on the store layout. A lot of newer Checkers has a more spacious layout and is a bit more modern and airy.

Everything you need under one roof from car accessories to garden tools

The look of the revamped store is great, and the overall experience is pleasant, despite occasional issues with stock. The customer service is decent and the customer care is really good. The attached coffee shop is very nice with friendly staff. The wine section could expand a bit, especially given its a Hyper store, but overall its pleasant.

This newly renovated Checkers store, look and feel great! The coffee shop have great tasting coffee, eats and the people serving you are so friendly. With everything in the store in newly renovated fridges, freezers and aisles make you want to buy everything although its the same products. Its a great new feel to supermarket one buy from for years. Well done Checkers Centurion.

The look and feel is similar to a food lovers market. Food is exceptionally well priced.Will definitely recommend trying them, best value for money.

Great Checkers, but do not go there after work on month end. Tills should be changed to one q so that you dont have to look for a shorter q. Stock is always an issue with this Checkers. Been there for few days in a row where stock is not available.

I have always enjoyed visiting this checkers, good prices and a large variety of products. Ever since the renovations the place has become amazing, very clean and tidy with a large selection of prepared foods and salads. Thank you keep it up

I purchased 2x 2 litre bottles Douglasdale Fresh Milk at Checkers Hyper in Centurion yesterday. Upon opening they were already off even though they were not past their best before date. I know that they are busy with extensive renovations and should maybe make more careful arrangements with their fresh products?

The express line was the most terrible experience! Its really confined. I dont see how a plus size person would fit in there. Theres no way of even exiting the line. With selves on both sides, people in front and behind you your stuck there until youve reached the till. If there would ever be an emergency there is no easy way out for the people queueing in this line. People would be trampled on!

One of the cleanest shops iv been at!!

Racist security personnel at the shops entrance, they wanted me to open my bag to check if there was an item that was shoplifted when I headed out.. I have visited this store over 15 times because I used to work near the mall and in all that time I have never seen a white person treated the way I was treated as a black man. The renovated shop looks great with even better offerings but my experience with them as a shopper was ruined by this incident.

Shelves are always fully replenished

Amazing transformation but unfortunately the lay-out is terrible and confusing. Pity they kept the same old rude staff, especially at the hot foods section. The service is slow and if you want to speak to a manager about it you wait forever.

Very large, newly revamped Checkers. However their prices are not competitive. They are more expensive on a variety of items compared to other Checkers in the area. Secondly, their bakery is sub-standard and has a very poor selection of freshly baked goods - and staff with a dont really care attitude. Lastly, their security guards at the door are overly aggressive with the customers. On more than one occasion Ive witnessed customers being unjustifiably harassed by their security. Im unlikely to shop there again.

Wow. This place has just recently go through a revamp. The place looks modern and feels actually good to go shop here now. They have limited there pace a little it feels like but I might be wrong do to the new layout. Produce looks amazing and staff does have a moral boost. Awsome

This Checkers is massive. Sadly the focus on fresh produce is lacking. Most of the loose vegetables are rotten, even the packets of carrots and celery sticks in the refrigerated section were off (brown, soggy and oozing). yuk.

Very good store.It has a wide selection of foods and veg.It is clean and the employees are helpful and the tillers are fast.They sell airtime and apple and play store vouchers.the price pf the food is good for the quality of it and the bread is fresh.the meat they sell is good quality and Ive never seen flys on the meat

I am so disappointed in your security Bull Risk Strategy at Centurion mall, because one of your security is harassing women and one of them is my woman. When he want to sleep with them and they turn him down, he abuse them emotionally but talking bad and spreading roumous about them. I didnt wanna take this , this far but because she didnt want to say anything about as she didnt want to loose her job. Not sure whos bright idea it was to do renovations during one of the busiest shopping periods of the year. The place is a mess. Rather go shop somewhere else until theyve completed the renovation.

Poor service and need a whole day to wait in the queue at the till. When will they ever learn that a single till can not serve a thousand customers. Customers support them in order to employee enough staff for better service. Why even have 30 till points if you can only affort to have 1 staff? Does not make sense huh?

Great good quality and variety of products at a good price. Lower and higher end options. Located in a centre with everything you could need.

It’s 17:55. Tellers are closing and packing up cash and are only supposed to be closing at 19:00. I’m an FNB customer who wanted to withdraw money. Nobody is willing to help me. Even the managers were shaking their heads to suggest nobody should do anything to help me out. Checkers can do as many makeovers as they want, but their customer service will still remain poor. Last time I come to Checkers Hyper in Centurion mall.

Growing up with Checkers and seeing this checkers It is like two unrelated places. Walking in this newly renovated store feels at a higher level than woolies. It is such a surprise to see how well the store is designed, How inviting the food to go section feels. I would shop here any day. If you have not experienced the newly facelifted Checkers Hyper. You will be surprised im sure.

The staff are so incompetent that they cannot use their own tills. They are not aware of mobile payments. And dont want to help. Absolutely pathetic service and unfriendly staff.

Was there to withdraw a small amount, tills were not full, so I wasnt inconveniencing other shoppers. The cashier did not respond to a greeting, she kept counting coins and speaking to the packer, when she was done, she said what do you want?, not how may I help. Scowl on her face and all. Wow. Disappointed.

Love the renovation!

The new coffee shop what a super bad place, this morning we toke friends from the Norhern Cape for a cup of coffee, firstly the cashier did not know how to work the till she had our order totally wrong after 4 tries and the assistance of a supervisor we were able to pay for 4 drinks. We waited for 15 mins for our order to be delivered to the table and it was wrong. I went to call the duty manager for assistance and after another 15 mins we received our order. The cashier claimed there was a queue of people waiting, not true there was a guy who collected his drink and nobody else. Me and my friends will not support Checkers Hyper again I will go to any other place but Checkers. This was a very bad experience. PPS Checkers.

Image over substance, generally poor quality, poor service and theblast straw was that there are obvious pieces of lung and offal in your lean mince, for the price we pay it should at the very least not be visible.

The best place to do groceries shopping. Shelves are always full and they offer the biggest choice and range available

The store is in a state of disarray due to a revamp that is underway. Difficult to navigate and also find products. Bit of an issue having two of the flagship stores both undergoing upgrades. A lot of the items on special were stocked out and also poorly labelled, the signs were not easy to understand. Pity because I chose to drive there as an alternative to Fourways. On the photo is a shelf with tuna, instant pudding, coffee, mayonnaise, chocolate and other random items randomly just lumped together.

The guy at the fruit and vegetables stand was very friendly and helpful.

Its much bigger and better, pity that some of the work is not done yet.

Although very busy the cashier was friendly and queues went fast.

A rather dreary atmosphere. The lights are as low as sale prices. It gives an impression of being semi-clean, as if the premises are cleaned under duress.Staff is non-chalant and sometimes downright hostile and dismissive.On the positive side, it has a broad variety of products.

Dreadful service, rather walk a few meters further and go to Pic n Pay or Woolworths. A simple example of what happened. We wanted to buy hot-dog rolls, but there was no one at the bread counter and it was open so my fiance assumed that its self-service. After she was busy packing the rolls into a plastic bag, the one who was suppose to work there came and made a big scene, screaming, clicking her tongue and saying things to us in Sesotho. Not even saying sorry or anything. She then refused to help us. Truly unprofessional and utterly unacceptable.

FML, what a screw-up in the new store layout... First off, be aware of the following: I dont go near stores in peak times because I hate trudging through an overloaded store of people, so my experience expressed here occurred in quiet periods. Those new tiny aisles make it near impossible to shop! To add insult to injury there are those specials baskets scattered all over the place making it impossible for two trolleys to pass each other. Ive tried your new downsized shop for three months and can tell you for sure that Checkers Centurion Mall will not see me again! Here is some advice... Rather close down House & Home completely to retain a proper hypermarket store size. People buy food and supplies EVERY month but they only buy furniture and appliances every couple of years. Whoever made the decision to downsize and create those tiny aisles obviously havent shopped in that store themselves...

The stuff at checkers who work at the bakery department are so horrible they have no respect for customers they were bullying me today and i am so hurt and disappointed

Went in to purchase a slice of pizza only to find the most rudest customer service from Zanele. Very disappointed and upset, people like her give Checkers a bad name.

Ample parking available. The revamped mall is quite nice.

The management of this place has a bad attitude. If you complain about things, they just shrug their shoulders. Today their whole frozen food section had food in that was not frozen. Their fridges are not working, but they dont remove the goods. They leave it their and expect you to still buy it and shut up about it.

It is fresh and new. Much more stock.

I phoned them to check stock on a item. I was transferred to customer service where nobody answered. I gave up and phoned Checkers Forest Hill where the person who answered could check the stock and even transferred to manager on floor to confirm stock.

Its a very nice place,cool and the the always fresh.

Total amount of tellers available ratio to trolleys going out needs to be addressed. When specials at your branch are +- 8 to 10 rand more expensive than some of the other leading stores ask your suppliers why.
