Awesome place on the beach with great food. Everything was fresh and the owners are a friendly bunch of people that are passionate about food and quality of food. A must stop on my next visit to Cape Town. We returned to the restaurant 3 times since we have been in Cape Town for the holidays. Best fish and chips ever. Fresh, large hake and the burgers are great as well. Highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for good quality food at fair prices.

Found the Old Cape Café on GoogleMaps and the number of vehicles parked outside confirmed its likely to be the spot to go.We received a very warm welcome from a gentleman, dressed in a tie nogal !, It was one of those wet and breezy Cape mornings, not the kind of weather we ‘binnelaanders’ are used to so the fire inside was very welcome. Some visitors seem to be born in a barn, so we were grateful for the waitress who did the necessary closing of doors. A good menu with our choice being a Banting type good breakfast to get us going for the day. Can’t drink wine on an empty stomach. Our eyes Were directed to the Banting Croque Monsieur, but wanted an egg added. Unfortunately these came hard, despite an order for soft, so back it went. By the time the right eggs arrived the meal was nearly finished. Always the delay frustration sending something back. Other than that the food, service and atmosphere were good and a good choice which we would not hesitate to order again.My wife did comment that the bathroom does not have a place to put down a ladies bag.

On my travels around our beautiful country I found this Cafe.....and have visited several times since! The food is deeeelicious!!! The service is impeccable!!! The view through CLEAN windows outside is to die for and the ambience of people relaxing and chatting just draws you back everytime! Dont miss out when youre in Gordonsbay!

First time being in Gordons Bay for about 20 years. Jaco, our waitor, made our visit so pleasant that we felt right at home. He was very friendly and his service was excellent. They have a change of ownership very accommodating, but still needs to sort out the new menu. The venue is good with great views of beach and environment mountains. Parking is available in front of the restaurant.

Such a great place. The service was excellent and fast. We ordered the prawns and chips and both were delicious. The cafe is dog friendly and atmosphere is relaxed.

Very nice neat resuarant. Well trained staff and very nicely prepared food. Service was a bit slow but the restaurant was extremely busy. Managent was very visible and involved in managing the situation. Well be back.

The Waitress was so friendly, food and coffee was great. They do need more waiters though as my coffee was cold by the time it got to me and its not the 2 waiters fault that have to waiter 50 tables.

What a dissapoiment. I used to love going there 2 to 3 times a week. Over the past year I am shocked at the very very poor service, staff laugh when you complain . Food is of very very poor quality, place used to buzz with locals. Now it has become a grave yard. Owners just ignore complains,while staff just hang around doing nothing. You lost us a patrons for good!!!!

Has almost no options for vegetarians on the menu. Fish and calamari were done well, but getting the home made chilli sauce bottle and opening it, it was caked with old sauce which is quite gross.Our waitresss boyfriend arrived and when we wanted to request the bill, had to wait for them to return from wherever they snuck off to so we can pay...

Very good food at decent price. Only bad point is they say they close at 10pm but we were told the kitchen shut at 9pm and kicked out at about 9:30pm.

Nice feel inside but dead average food. Been there three times and disappointed every time. Avoid the flavourless chicken strips and watered down sauces served with the nachos. (and they serve yogurt instead of sour cream and instant gravy instead of salsa.)

REVOLTING. Went for dinner with my family and we all had various seafood, none of which was fresh. I had the mussel pot which gave me stomach ache. The mussels smelt and were rubbery and the sauce which they claimed was lemon and herb was so full of vinegar with no trace of lemon. When I spoke to the manager, she was unapologetic and said the mussels are their bestseller. Perhaps this is the case if your customers have no tastebuds because it was so terrible. She also didnt try to compensate in any way. R120 is not cheap and the standard of this place is so low. Do not waste your timeor money here.

Best restaurant in Gordons Bay. It has great craft beer on tap, a good sushi chef, friendly service and great coffee. Its the only place to offer a café feeling with lovely deck outside.
