Deus is my favorite spot in the whole of Cape Town. Its just cool. Everything about it is great, the food, experience, bakery, store and people. Will always recommend this place to anyone and will always be a regular here. Make an effort to stop by - you wont regret it!

A home away from home. Where everyone is part of the community (the excellent staff, neighbors and valued guests), come hell or high water! Deus Ex Machina will always be there to serve that perfect morning Cup o Jo, fill out bellys with the most delicious meals & treats and dont forget the best part... Quenching our ever thirsty throats with what is referred to as Holy Water Haha, OH YEAH just cannot help, but come back for more every single day!!! 😍

As a long time Deus fan, Ive been waiting to visit The Temple of Perpetuity for two years. Perfectly combining the Deus aesthetic with the essence of Cape Town, my experience here met all my great expectations!

Great spot to meet up. Delicious baked goods and coffee in a fantastic setting. Waiting staff are very helpful and friendly. The decor was cohesive and I catching. The parking was easy to find. The outdoor areas are lush and peaceful and well shaded.

Great service and even better coffee.It looks small from the outside but in actuality it is a large restaurant with 120 max seating. Its decor is a mix of vintage and modern mechanical vibe.I loved it, will definitely visit again when im in the area.

Food good and staff friendly. Nice that my very well behaved dog was welcome inside. Only negative was that the mashed peas were forgotten. But good all over.

The vibe is always good but we’ve eaten their twice now and the experience has been poor. I do not think the fish was fresh and the beef pita was not great. I enjoyed the cocktails margarita and espresso

Went here to work, have coffee and some lunch. Nice space to work and there some quieter rooms to choose from. Coffee top notch, food good as well.

Good ambiance and interior decoration, along with classic motorcycle theme. Let down by poor service unfortunately. Once seated, it takes long to take your order, then to bring it, then to get the bill etc. Not likely to visit again unfortunately.

Great spot in Hout Bay! Always just driving past it, we finally decided to stop and go in.No regrets! Decor is cool, fireplace inside keeping some sections warm. Nice vibe and great menu selection. Food and coffee was delicious.Will be back!

I love this Cafe down the road from me, lovely coffee and treats and the staff are lovely. The restaurant, bar and curio shop have amazing interiors and you can see they took effort into the look, food mirrors the effort put into the interior, very tasty. Likee what you guys have done to a historicbuilding. keep it up.

Popped in to have a look. I quite liked the variety of different rooms. Cosy couches armchairs and fireplace. We opted for outdoor seating - plenty tables nicely spaced to choose from. My grilled chicken burger with oh so fresh green side salad was delish.Very good service from Kip - our waiter - most helpful and well informed. We will definitely pop in again. Thank you.

Service was slow. We had 3 different waiters. The menus given to us had very few options for lunch. We ended up having mushrooms on toast which I felt was over priced. Nice restaurant. Has alof of potential. Perhaps we were there on a bad day, Im not sure but I didnt feel like anyone really cared about us.

Beautiful place with different dining areas and a play area for kids. Everything room is designed differently to add to the magic. We just bought some sweet treats.

Deus Cafe formerly known as Kitimas, has warm feel with good food and drinks, especially the breakfast which is served all day. The bakery had freshly baked goods and is great for a quick stop.

Out driving last week, this gem happened to catch my eye. A seemingly unnasuming place, I was startled by the vibrant atmosphere once inside. I was immediately greeted by a very attentive, friendly server who took our orders. About 15 minutes later our food arrived, and again I was astonished by the high quality and intense flavour. I will be visiting again. Highly recommended place!

Fantastic vibe, our waitor was very friendly and helpful. Good food, healthy options available and a good selection of vegan and vegetarian meals. There are sections where alcohol is served, but the area overlooking the childrens play area (which is gorgeous and beach themed) does not serve alcoholic beverages. On the more expensive side but definitely worth a visit.

The venue to be in Cape Town.There are numerous events throughout the week like, Sunday Brunch, Thursday Blues, Saturday Smokehouse and more...The restaurant servers great food with generous portions and the bar serves cold beer. Get fresh breads at the bakery. Get kitted out at the retail store. A great place to spend a day shopping and having something to eat all under one roof.There is a kids play are for the little ones while you enjoy lunch in the garden.

Nice place, non existent service and customer skills.We went on a Saturday at about 12 in the morning. The place was very busy. We stood around waiting for a waiter to ask if we wanted a table. Nothing. We spent about 5 minutes walking up and down the restaurant looking for a table (there are a few rooms and outdoor seating spaces on different levels) and still no-one offered assistance despite waiters brushing past us. Eventually I flagged one down and asked for a table. By now it had started drizzling. He asked if we looked around. I said yes and then he just said, well you can see its full inside and there nowhere to sit outside sooo. I left very dissappointed.

Deus makes a great burger and if you swing by on a Friday night they do a movies night fr.the kids while you enjoy your meal. Awesome indoor and outdoor seating areas available for a bit to eat at any time of the day.

Sat for 20min and eventually convinced a waiter (who was the manager!) to serve us coffee. Menus arrived with coffee (we are now sitting for 30min) and that was the last we saw of a waiter. Cant comment on food as we got up and left after 45 min. On our way out the manager kindly offered us the coffee and hot chocolates (which where served in Espresso cups) on the house. Yey

Much more fun and alternative than the past Kroonedal Restaurant. My Buddah Bowl was delicious, flavorsome and generous, and lots of outdoor seating. Definitely want to come back and spend more time here, and taste the menu and feel the evening vibe.

I love this place most vibrant...will suggest it to the whole family there is something for everyone young and old to enjoy. From a delightful cuizine...cakes and desserts and a huge open bar spacious and home furniture with a twist of rustic.

Very cool place, beautifully decorated with interesting little rooms & a lovely outside area. Service was great but the food is way overpriced & the pizza wasn’t great- meat lovers pizza was very oily.

Decent restaurant with good food and nice cocktails, but a bit expensive and trying painfully hard to be hipster. The grilled fish on the menu is most definitely not grilled (see photo), although it is tasty. Pizza is mediocre. Will we seek this restaurant out to eat here again? No. Will we pop in if were in the area and really hungry? Yes.

Staff are beyond accommodating. Shout out to Nino and Yvette!!! They made my birthday one of the best and one I won’t forget. The place is beautiful, the food is amazing, the gift shop is epic... but nothing even comes close to the warmth and enthusiasm of the staff. It didn’t feel like they worked there, it felt like they were friends of mine who were helping out. Can not say enough about how great this place is. 10 stars

Only giving 3 stars on first visit as for a place that embraces motorcycles as part of their culture I was told I couldnt park in car bay and there were no bike bays...instead told by the guard to wedge between the cars and entrance where it was clearly in the way.Only stopped for a quick coffee and a takeaway. The coffee was great and the food (later at home, was fantastic).I hope they can sort out the parking for bikes as it really is a crucial part of their image.But its really nicely layed out. I visited the cafe recently, and was pleasantly taken aback at the outstanding quality of food, the lively atmosphere, the friendly and efficient service and the unique decor. I cannot recommend this place enough. Absolutely incredible spot!

As a motorcyclist and a big fan of the Dues brand I was as excited as a kid before Christmas to visit the Cafe, but I left with very mixed feelings on my experience. It was a beautiful day so we sat outside, sadly we had to move because the smoking was so bad it was literally suffocating. Then we ordered the Rosé MCC, no stock. Then we ordered Halloumi, again no stock and then calamari, no stock. We settled on the Cubana Sandwiches, and guess what… no pork. The waitress was so embarrassed she got someone from the kitchen to come to tell us the fourth time. When we eventually found something you did have in stock, it was actually pretty good.

Love the energy of this place - for a working spot in the morning, a playdate with kids, or a fun evening. It somehow seems to work for all of them. Also great food options (try the bowl for a great healthy option) whatever your mood.

Such lovely breakfast and coffee at Deus! I had a delicious avocado on toast and my partner had French toast with bacon and banana! The breakfast was delicious as well as being so affordable. So refreshing to pay a normal price for breakfast! Such a great place and has a lovely vibe on weekends. Also has fantastic decor and a nice shop with male clothing in it.

Great place but a) you really need to sort out your menu situation. Old menus were in rotation. That looks like it is taken care of, but now you have old menus all over the internet. Also, you should really teach your waiters to upsell.

The hidden gem of Hout Bay, hiding in plain sight.Just keep an ear out for the grumbling of motorbike engines pulling in for a cappuccino.Deus Cafe is an exceptional coffee spot surrounded by small botique businesses that add to your to do list. Get a hair cut while I work? Why not!The space is huge! And it offers numerous tables booths and hidden nooks to work from - inside and out.The ice coffee was a welcomed relief to a hot day.My friend and I worked there for a full 5 hours utilising the insanely fast internet speed (90 mb up and 80 MB down).The food we ordered was delicious too. Served by staff respectful of giving you space and time.The only reason why we left is because it closed! I enjoyed my afternoon thoroughly and got a lot of work done - it may have been the music?!Id highly recommend Deus Cafe to anyone living or visiting the Cape Town area. It was a great escape and I will be back.

I don’t like to complain. Here is some free constructive criticism on my terrible experience.After waiting 5 min by the door waiting to be screened and seated. I walked in and sat down with a work friend.After 30 min a waiter (DM if you want more details on waiter) an apologetic waiter addressed us. We ordered an Americano and sparkling water.15 min later the water arrived.A further 10 min a coffee arrived. No creme, burnt, no sugar or anything with it.(DM if you need help training I know about 10 companies that can do this, heck I’ll do it for freaking free)20 min I asked for the bill.3 min got the bill. R54.00I paid R70 cashWaited 20 min I honestly thought I would have gotten the change as I did not in anyway shape or form say thank you, you can keep the change.Luckily our focus was on our meeting, so I kept time stamps on all the events.But guys tell me why should I return?11 March.10h00 - 11h20

This is a tucked away gem. I saw it out of the corner of my eye and man, was I pleasantly surprised. Great Bakery, Bar and Restaurant. Delicious value for money food and awesome friendly waitpersons. A must try. I will definitely be back for more.

Had THE most amazing time there. We organised a birthday for my brother and JP and team were so accommodating and went above and beyond the call of duty. Even going so far as to offer to bake an in-house pumpkin pie for the party! My brother is also into ghost hunting and they allowed us to roam around the restaurant to meet their resident ghost, Elsa, during a historical tour with the owner’s wife, Terry. The food was amazing and Yvette, our server, and Nino were the best. Really, I haven’t enjoyed myself this much at a restaurant before. 10/10, would eat there again!

Was very excited to visit the restaurant / bar in Hout bay to see if the South African managed Dues X Machina lived up to the reputation for quality that it has created for itself globally. Unfortunately the food was for the most part a complete disappointment . For a place that has only recently opened one would think they would have taken more pride and care ....My budda bowl had a rotten veggie taste ! A young PR girl rushed to the table just after I had taken a spoon of chow to ask us what we thought of the food but wasnt patient enough to wait for me to reply ( since my mouth was full ) before rushing off..........Nice decor , lovely bar ....i would stick with their fried food and drinks / alcohol , the rest was unfortunately lousy chow! enjoy the vibe and decor but dont expect much from the chow which is overpriced for what it offers....

Sunday cruise with a new coffee stop on route!

We had excellent service here today, thank you Pikkie for great food. He is the new Head Chef there and was lovely to experience their hospitality. Waiters were also excellent and we will definitely be visiting again.

Terrible service, no one willing to help, several employees not wearing masks and no one could tell us what was in the travel cake. Would not recommend.

Best burger and sweet potato chips ever.

Stopped by real quick to get breakfast back in February. The smoothie on their instagram profile seemed very well served with lots of granola, chia seeds and some fruits so I decided to order one. They had the audacity to serve it with ONE single piece of mango and three blueberries, ridiculous.

I like this place. The food and cocktails are great and the prices are normal. The vinyl room is absolutely gorgeous, with the sexiest stereo equipment known to humans.Transport yourself to a previous era as you play your own choice of LPs and chill out in retro comfort after a meal. Really cool and brave of the management to trust patrons to operate such state of the art stereo components.Oh! The staff are fantastic!Wishing Deus a long life.
