Sunset Pharmacy is one of the few pharmacies where, when you walk in you get greeted not only by the staff but even by the security. Customers to this pharmacy get a very individualized experience and attention. It doesn’t matter who you are, nor what your needs are, Sunset Pharmacy and its team (nursing staff and security included) will treat you well. There is something about the greeting I get from every single person there, receptionist included, that makes me feel a little better about my day, every time I visit.The Sunset pharmacy team go out of their way to deliver great customer service; And my most memorable moment there was sitting in the queue to see the nurse, and a pensioner sitting next to me had asked the pharmacist (named Robin) walking past us if he could just help her get something from a shelf, and rather than just pointing the way to the item she needed, he said “no problem! please sit” and proceeded to go get the item for her. It was not the pharmacist’s job to necessarily do that for her as there was a team on the floor who handle these tasks, but he still graciously helped her get what she needed without her having to leave the queue. The level of service that that small customer service experience showed me, solidified Sunset pharmacy as a place to highly recommend for their service delivery, and ensured that I would definitely return.

The best pharmacy in Africa. They stock everything. Friendly and extremely helpful staff and pharmacists. Never again will I use the big chain impersonal pharmacies. Cannot rate highly enough. Worth a few minutes extra drive if not local to you as their service already makes you feel better. Extended opening hours also convenient for late night shopping/emergencies. Excellent.

I am just appalled by the way I have been treated in this Pharmacy this morning, 01/07/21 between 9:15 and 9:30 am. Being unwell, I called to inquire what kind of tests are proposed in the pharmacy - I had heard that some pharmacies do COVID tests. The woman on the phone told me that they dont do COVID tests but only an antibody test. I kindly asked what is an antibody test, I said that I had heard that it is a test to establish if you have already had COVID and I asked her to confirm. My question was met with confusion. After a moment of silence, the woman asked : So you are sick and you want to know if you can have a COVID test - this you cant, we dont do it. I kindly responded that I understood that they dont do COVID tests and that I just wanted to confirm if an antibody test is what I thought it was. At this point she just gave the phone to someone else - no transition, not a word of kindness or basic courtesy. Yes! was the welcoming introduction of the second woman. I explained to her that I had understood that they dont do COVID tests but that I simply wanted to know what the antibody test is about. Confusion again. The woman asked the same question as her colleague but this time with a very aggressive tone: Maaam, you want to know if you have COVID or not, is that it? Again I explained kindly that I understood that they dont test for COVID, I just want to know what the antibody test is about, I had heard that its about establishing if you already had COVID but I was unsure and needed a confirmation. Silence - no excuse me, can you please wait for a second..., I just hear the phone being posed on something, I hear the two women in the background pulling boxes Its there, look there... To my understanding, they are looking at what antibody test is, probably on the package of the test ... Dont get me wrong, I actually dont mind this at all... The same second woman, the one with the attitude, comes back to me: So, Maam, I still dont understand what you want? I am a monument of patience, so I politely repeat once again that I was asking for a confirmation on what an antibody test is about and that if she doesnt know its perfectly fine with me, I am more than happy to wait on the phone when a pharmacist is available to respond... Here the woman cuts me abruptly by raising her voice: Maaaaaam!!! The antibody test is to establish if you have had COVID already or not. Thats what it is. I thank her and tell her that this is exactly the info I needed. To this she continues aggressively arguing But I told you so already... I am shocked, I am questioning reality but I have shortness of breath and absolutely no strength or the interest to argue... Excuse me, is this the tone to have with a person who is sick, feeling vulnerable and simply asking for information? I asked to the woman before switching off the phone. I now ask the same question to the management of Sunset Pharmacy... I am actually shocked of the kind of staff you have recruited, we have been your clients for years, we have never seen anything like this. As much as I am fine with ignorance (although in the medical sector this could present a couple of dangers) and I understand that the women picking up the phone in your pharmacy do not need to have the knowledge of a pharmacist, I think that if they are incapable to show kindness, at least they should be trained on what basic courtesy is about... Its the least you can provide to the type of clients you are dealing with - people struggling with sickness and feeling vulnerable... Its very sad, the Sunset Pharmacy was an institution in Sea Point... apparently not anymore...

The female pharmacists assistant is an absolute pig, she doesnt have a clue when it comes to manners, etiquette, or how to assist someone. This old dilapidated pharmacy should just throw in the towel and close down. This place was once an institution.

This is a winning business. REAL pharmacists who know their stuff. Extremely customer focused. We can all learn from this business. They are doing so much right.Even though I live 10KM away I drive to Sea Point. They are that worth it.Will never go back to chain-store brand pharmacy again.

Singularly impressed with Adele+Angelo at Sunset Pharmacy.Ive had two occasions to use this space in two weeks, both for sudden, scary and debilitating health issues (salmonella poisoning+influenza), and I am very grateful for the care+professionalism displayed.Both Adele+Angelo took time by phone to advise then console me, and what was prescribed worked perfectly...and immediately, I might add.I also am quite amazed at how reasonable the pricing is, plus theyre open until 9pm DAILY!They are now my go-to health fundis...thanks, guys!@jamescapetown14h39 Wed 25 Sept 2019

Good overstocked pharmacy with a easy to access clinic. But please confirm prices for services at the clinic as prices verbally quoted are at odds with that at checkout.

Sunset Pharmacy over on Kloof road, Sea Point Cape Town is a good, local establishment for many years, I found the staff to be caring, and very helpful indeed !

Passionate and energetic pharmacists with a genuine interest in the community. Always feel welcomed, never rushed, and despite their large customer base, the staff seem to remember every customer.A shining example of what a pharmacy should be in a community.

Sunset pharmacy is a household name for people living and visiting the Atlantic seaboard..... open until 9pm you can always find a friendly, helpful face here whether its a sweet treat you need or a script filled this is the place.They have a whole section of glassware, Havianna flipflops, a range of imported food and a whole lot of nicknaks you may just need.

By far the best, most proffessional pharmacy in Cape Town. Friendly staff and fantastic operating hours.
