We took our dog there for the first time and omgosh I am so happy! She looks so good and cute,will definitely be taking her there often. I wish I could give negative stars. Honestly I have never before been so disrespected in my entire life. I took my dog to The Laughing Dog for the first time, since our other parlour increased their prices, today. Everything was okay, as I enquired about the prices the day before and the lady quoted me between R120 and R140, because this is cheaper than my other parlour I happily made an appointment for Fern, my five year old pug. I dropped him off after 12:30 and they were very accommodating, saying that hell be done in 45 minutes to an hour. I told Lyn that I am going to drop off something and then I will return. Upon returning, at around 2, she wasnt there, and she left my receipt with the gentleman working for her, on my recent she had written R170, I was told that I could wait for her to return to the parlour and discuss this price or pay it. I decided to wait because I wanted to speak to her and have a conversation about it. After 15 minutes of waiting she called the shop and asked to speak to me, I asked Lyn about the price and she said that she didnt quote me R120 to R140 for Fern (am I a liar?) and that its good for me to pay the extra R30 because my dog is f*cking overweight and that she had to wait for me and hes definitely not cheaper than R170. Lyn then also told me that it was my responsibility that she had today the gentleman extra for the hours he had to wait for me (is this professional behaviour?). I did not receive any phone calls from her saying that Fern was done, I was so calm and kind over the phone and Lyn said I was arguing with her. I will never bring Fern back to this place run by an ill-tempered, rude, woman. Customers deserve to be treated with kindness and respect, humans need to be treated with kindness and respect. I have never felt so hurt in my life, I left the parlour in tears because of the way she was speaking to me over the phone. Do not bring your pets to Lyn, she is a mean lady who doesnt deserve to be in business.

I call in to book a previously stray cat I took in. They ask if I washed the cat before and then tell me they will try as they prefer taking on cats from young?! Are you not trained professionals??? I fully understand cats clean themselves but seriously theres nothing wrong with wanting to have the cat cleaned and groomed after being on the streets for so long.

Loved this place. Brought my baby girl Gesy to have her nails trimmed. They were so helpful and gave some good advice on shampoo. Im definitely returning there for a follow up. And the prices are reasonable. They knew what shampoo belonged to which dog without looking for a name label. That was impressive. When I got there they were busy with an old dog, so cute, but the patience the groomer had with him was fantastic. You have my vote laughing dog....

The best doggy parlour in the South!

Owner is a lovely and friendly person who loves her animals. She takes great care in looking after her clients pets needs. Dogs come out well groomed and squeaky clean. Nail clipping also done. She tops it off with a lovely bow on the dogs. Excellent service.

Very professional and knowledgeable staff

What a fantastic service. They allowed me to bring my 2 large dogs 1.5 hours before closing time without an appointment since I was desperate. Both dogs were ready within an hour. I arrived early and overheard her playing with my dogs and feeding him treats. She also used a smaller, less noisy dryer on 1 my dog as she is skiddish for machines. And to top it off she washed my leashes and harnesses. Wow. What excellent service. Dogs look like champion breeds now. Thank you so much Lynn.

Always friendly, always accommodating... My dogs are always well groomed and some how they are always able to trim their nails which is normally impossible to do. Defs wud recommend!

Laughing Dog????? more like petrified Dog!!!Heaven knows what they would have done to my dog had i left him there....Highly unprofessional service.They let my dog escape out of the car, not van, transporting him to the groomers; return to tell me my dog is running loose on Plumstead main road; only to find him at the groomers, after driving up and down looking for him. worst of all is not even an apology or admitting to making a mistake.trying to blame the dog, then extort more money from us. please do not use this groomers

I took my dog there a few months ago.Hair was cut too short resulting in my poor dog getting a bad infection, had to take her to the Vet for treatment.
