Little is known of this somewhat historic landmark. But people who pay attention always know what you talk about when you mention it. A good piece of history nestled in the trees just off the M3 at Rosebank and it looks attractive in its own right.
An iconic landmark so many used to pass on the M3 Highway everyday, now destroyed by a mountain fire. Truly part of our Cape Town history and a striking feature to be remembered.
The food was delicious and the country setting was lovely. We will be back.
I love historic places and monuments and feel strongly that the secret to our success lies in not repeating the faws made in the past. As such its really nice to see the mill actually doing what it was made to do - grind wheat. Entrance today cost me R50 for myself and my wife. Thats per year. Individual entrance is currently R40. Check their facebook page and website for further details.
What a pity. It has burnt down
Mosterts Mill is a historic windmill in Mowbray, Cape Town, South Africa. It was built in 1796 and is the oldest surviving and only complete windmill in South Africa.

Still well kept working mill.
That is amazing 👌
Unfortuanlty closed to the public
What an incredible experience to see the Mill in action- so well restored and run by a great bunch of volunteers. I even bought some of the flour that was milled and the bread they had for a taster was amazing.
Historic cape town land mark! Really interesting history and engineering

Open every 28 days. Go check out the Facebook page of Friends of Mosterts Mill. A great bit of history that many a Cape Tonian drives past at least once a week. The guys running the open days are friendly, helpful and informative. Well worth the visit.
Beautiful place.... No access really to public from Rhodes drive... Section at the bowls part of UCT.... Nice for a walk thru
