This is a moving documentation of a difficult period in human history, especially the coloniization of Africa by Europeans. The striking elements are the attempts to put names to some of the victimes and trace their origins.

As a decedent of African slaves, I deplore the sins of slavery but I applaud the effort SA has made to point it out and attempt to make amends. In 25 years you all have made strides that its take us Americans,150 years! One question though - the second floor has no real relevance to slavery WHY????

The Western Cape became the slave capital of this country. A lot of that history can be found in this museum, be sure to tour the whole place and ask questions.

We do not think we have the privilege of being indifferent to the suffering of other people (who are not Jewish) and this museum reminds us that the roles can easily be replaced ... The sound, the wonder, the testimonies remind us of other days in the history of the Jewish people.
