Firstly, going to a consultation should never leave you feeling ostracised or patronised - unfortunately after a few questions about my symptoms I was asked to “move my seat back” even though I had my mask on - this was distressing. The doctor had suspected I may have covid and her response was to ostracise me. The doctor then continued to dismiss my opening statements where I told her that I suspected an allergic reaction to muscle relaxants. She then belittled her staff for allowing me into the practice as I might have COVID. After 3-4 minutes she concluded that i had, without a doubt, covid. Ordered me to get a covid test and asked me to leave. R500/R600 for the consult (if you could even call it that) + the costs of the covid test - I received a negative result. I would go on to receive another test to confirm this as my symptoms had not subsided and the second test was also negative for covid. I found the experience extremely off putting and would urge you to go to any other practice where the staff and doctors conduct themselves in a more professional manner.
To find the facility, go past Vida Cafe to security that will give you access to the second floor. Do not take the stairs/lifts that take you to Virgin Active gym. Once you leave the lift, walk down and turn right. Dr Lynne was wonderful, respectful and helpful. She was kind and knowledgeable and helped me with great efficiency. There are card facilities if you want to pay with card, and they request a fee upfront which you can later claim from medical aid. They are on the Discovery network. The offices are clean, open and welcoming. My experience here was just for a consultation and I was more than happy.
