Such a shame that there is no service anymore ... There are about 100 people standing in hour long queues here and its raining ... But the people who are sick and are coming to see a doctor are all sitting in the rain .. There is no backup plan .. The staff are all sitting under cover so they arent really worried. The chairs are all left outside to be ruined from the rain ... Wow south Africa at its best !

This day hospital offers a good service to public health, just a pity they dont answer their phone. Their WhatsApp number during this pandemic could also be better- feedback is poor to out-patients.

Its planning always change and you must wait long outside even if its bad weather their CDU department for chronic deseas always sends pasients to collect their folders at receiptions and it is there where the holdup start you must wait outside and wait when your name is called the couriër that handle theCDU patiënt med always have a flop my med was delivered several times after which they forgot to deliver i had to go back to remind them but it was a flop because they don,t do their job properley i wish the minister of health must pay a visit unexspected to see that what trouble patiënts got at that dayhospital even my Xray from Victoria hospital was lost when i went for the results and now i must go again because my hands is in critical state

Rude, lazy, incompetent. Prepare to spend the whole day here. Make sure you bring food, drinks and something to entertain you. I arrived before 8am and left at 4pm. The nurses never do what they are supposed to do. They dont hand in files. They send you to the wrong room or window. They dont write dates on the file etc. No one explains the procedure to you. The doctors seem fine but the nurses are terrible. Even the doorman / security is impolite. Ive visited other clinics in Cape Town and this is by far the worst. I cant comprehend how a healthcare facility does not have toilet paper, soap and towels or driers. I would give them a zero star rating but thats not an option.

Level of professionalism when calling to make a booking, they busy having their own conversation and then place you on hold for over 5min with no explanation. As this is the only way we can get appointments its disappointing to say the least

NOT THE FIRST TIME AND WONT BE THE LAST....Been calling Lady Michaelis since 8am this morning and each time Reception transfers, whomever picks up the phone at the pharmacy dept, drops the call.Tried chatting to the Facility Manager as well, but no answer there either.Ive sent an email to Ms Weaver, the Facility Manager, more than an hour ago and no response either.Reception can only do so much and took my husbands details down and even apologised for the bad service, IT IS THE DEPARTMENTS WHO DO NOT ANSWER OR WHO DROPS THE CALLS.....VERY VERY BAD UNPROFESSIONAL SERVICE FROM A HEALTH SERVICE PROVIDER.....Then they are the first to complain when the patients become aggressive with them, but how can you not be aggressive with this treatment????Especially when you were told to call to follow up on the delivery of Chronic Medication????EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED IN LADY MICHAELIS!!!!!

Arriving there at 9am , i was told that I needed to open a folder. The clerks were friendly and helpful although I waited from 9am till 12ish to get my folder. I was told to drop the folder in box 2 ( this is where the first mistake began. Since I was there to see a psychiatrist, I needed to go through a doctor first and room 2 was the nurses room. I didnt know this at the time, but they should have. Since the clerk told me to go to room 2 and it was my first time here, I followed orders. Waiting to be seen by the nurses took over 2 hours. After my name was called, I went in and they did some routine tests. I showed them a letter I received that advised me to be seen by a medical officer/psychiatrist.The nurse took me to the nurse on duty for psychiatry( Mrs Siaz) and she was very dismissive. Saying no, I dont have any bookings for the day. Who is this?? She spoke on the phone for a couple of minutes while I waited, talking loudlyand taking her own sweet time while I waited outside. When she saw me, she was not friendly at all and she read my letter and from who it was as if it held no value. Even though I was referred by the Councelling Hub who indeed felt strongly that I needed urgent help( excellent place, R50 therapy sessions) and they are not qualified psychologists, only student psychologists, she quickly dismissed it. She did get less unfriendly and began to explain to me that shes fully booked for April and I cant come directly to her. I dont blame her for the mix up, as it was the hospitals fault but really lady, you should be ashamed. I suffer from severe depression and you dismissed me like I am a nobody, you dont deserve to work with people!! It took 1 person to break me down on an already difficult day, and that person was you. You need to show atleast some compassion to people , especially in your line of work!!Distraught and depressed, I broke down in the back courtyard section of the day hospital. Its apalling how mental health is neglected in this country, especially at this hospital!! I was clearly not in the right state of mind and suicidal, and she just sent me back and blamed the managment. In a case of emergency, would you treat someone like that? I waited for 6 hours for something urgent ( not saying that the other patients arent important) but someone in psychiatry really needs to clue themself up on how to deal with someone who doesnt seem okay instead of acting like I need a special pass to even talk to you.I sat there for 20 minutes, crying and frantic as I had no other option and I needed medication immediately.I called a suicide helpline( provided by the Councelling Hub) and they told me to go to the doctor and demand to be seen immediately.I went to the doctor on duty in room 3( tall, white male ) at around 2:40 and asked to be seen. He flat out refused and didnt even bother to look at me and see the state I am in. Again, pathetic treatment from staff. Luckily, someone finally helped me ( I wont mention names to protect your identities). If it wasnt for you both, I would have been dead. Thank you so much :(

Over a hundred people waiting hours for their file (just the first step in a tediously slow process) and there is only one till open, then this guy, the ONLY one able to help a hundred people, gets up from his desk and leaves because and I quote directly the construction workers drilling is too noisy. Mofo im standing here coz theres no seating, listening to screaming babies, people coughing their lungs out, anshit. Its your job man be professional.

While the work staff are friendly and helpful, our experience of the medical professionals is that they have no interest in helping others other than the minimum that is required. I have no idea how they sleep at night, on the fine line on breaking the hippocratic oath. If any one of them ever read some of these reviews you can and almost certainly have indirectly killed someone through aggression and misdirection of people suffering with mental health problems.

Another dismal performance by apathetic staff who for the most part are clearly there to merely collect a pay cheque. Not deserving of even one star. A blemish on the social service programme. These employees need a wake up call.At my last visit I was told by an arrogant gentleman that he didnt mind doing the service he was offering me. You are being paid a salary to do so dear. A little humility in your chosen profession will take you much further than arrogant apathy.Today, another botched medication booking met with complete apathy.I will continue to rate each visit until the staff improve their level of service.
