We spent nearly 3 hours eating, enjoying our drinks, listening to live music and just chilling. The food was tasty, service good and the vibe very lively. We started with oysters and bubbly, followed by fish cakes and later some grilled calamari. We ended off with 1kg prawns. Nothing spectacular, but good hearty food.
It was very busy and very loud. They had a live band which made it impossible to have a conversation. Also, they didnt allow any dancing and their servers were quite aggressive in stopping people from dancing. In saying that, our server was wonderful and the restaurant does strictly follow all covid protocols especially enforcing mask wearing.
The platter has a nice variety of seafood and is a good option for people who would like to try a little of everything. The food was good but I felt the calamari could have been better. The smoothie was great, enjoyed it. It smooth and delicious. The Brûlée was great too, with a nice hint of Amarula. The musician on that day was really good.I would definitely recommend visiting this restaurant.
The quality of the fish and chips has dropped, how sad!!!This used to be one of the best places to get this meal, unfortunately it ranks poorly now.Where is that great beer batter and why has the portion size reduced so much???Come on Quay Four sort out your issues and give us what were used too!!!
Awesome vibe, wide variety on the menu. Beautiful view. And awesome live entertainment on certain days. ❤️
Poor service, had to look for a waiter to take our orders. Got our food after other patrons that arrived and order after us. Yet we ordered simple meals ( burgers ). Then we had to look for our waiter again in order to pay our bill. Not very pleased at all with the whole experience.
This is a lovely restaurant. Our waitress was very friendly and accommodating. The food is delicious and nicely priced. We unfortunately left before the live entertainment could start. We will definitely be back
Quay four is excellently situated on the wharf of the V&A Waterfront. With a lot of space available, its a great place for lunch or drinks.Prices are affordable considering the spot of the restaurant itself. Prices range between R99-R149 for a main meal. The food resembles normal pub food, that doesnt provide a special out-of-this world tasting experience. But fair enough considering it is a pub-like vibe.
Had a team lunch there, started off a call me a taxi cocktail it was amazing went down so well with the days sunny weather refreshing and had the kick it promised reading all the alcohol included from the menu. For lunch I had the Chateaubriand the steak was so soft, melted in my mouth, the chips were so crispy and soft inside, the veggie slaw that the steak rested on was amazing with a sweet sour taste to compliment the whole plate. This meal coupled with the view of the ocean was enjoyable.
An Absolutely Awesome Day Spent With Friends... That Has Become Family.. I Love It.. Thanks Too Usman nd Leslie Ann For An Amazing time ♥️♥️
If booking, they reserve upper deck. Nicer for conversation as music on lower deck can be difficult to chat through. Lovely view of charter boats. Different menu upper deck. Cajun calamari, sushi and steaks were all good. Chocolate fondant was pleasant. Ebony and ivory desert was disappointing, maybe because the waiter described it as mousse, which it definitely isnt. Presentation was very good though. Prices reasonable.
They are serving delicious food and i enjoyed my sea food. This place service is very good.
I loved the vibes!😎 The music was good🎶. The people was friendly and the service was excellent ❤
I had an excellent fried hake and chips there with even some salad on the side. Value for money. The second time when I came for the same dish suddenly the fish was dry and not well fried. After my complaint they immediately rectified and sent me a nice juice hake with crunchy skin.
Great atmosphere. Average food. Honestly Fishaways does better fish and chips.
Thank you for inviting my friend and I back! The friendly service, delicious cocktails and amazing food created a night to remember. We had the prime rib and a sushi platter! Such a lovely meal, definitely recommend it :D Finished off with a mouth watering dessert, we had the best evening. Thanks gain!
Waited 30 minutes for food other tables all served, asked the waiter what the delay was no clue just gave a dumb look
If I could give it no stars I would, cashier made a statement that tip wasnt included in the total amount after I said the amount as stated on the slip. Bear in mind this was for a TAKE AWAY item. The waitress we paid did not even take our order the bar man did. This was the first and hopefully last time experiencing something as shocking as this for me.
Visited them on 28 Sep 2021 at around 7pm. We were told that we could sit upstairs and order from the downstairs menu. We ordered the 1kg prawn special, the food arrived slightly cold with the prawns poorly seasoned and not all of them being deveined. When our waiter came by to check on us we mentioned this and he did not say anything. Instead he offered to heat up the entire pan. Additionally the ladies bathroom was dirty, the pepper grinder on our table was grimy and the table cloth was also dirty. We found the waiter to be okay but did not communicate well. This is our first time sitting upstairs, weve frequented the downstairs restaurant a few times and have always had a positive experience.
Great staff, nice views, even had birds visiting.
The various restaurants / decks are not well marked and we ended up in the wrong area for the menu we wanted to order from... Otherwise great waiters and as always good food and well priced
Always nice to eat there. Right next to the water
Good food, make sure you come early, it will be packed and you might stand in line to take a seat. Awesome variety.
Today was my 1st time I wanted to experience Quay four restaurant because everyone is talking so highly about this place, but to my experience I will never sit a foot at this place, you got a ramp but you dont have any tables for someone who is in a wheelchair chair, some people who are in wheelchairs cant sit on their own or eat on their own. DOES IT MEAN PEOPLE WHO ARE IN WHEELCHAIRS ARE NOT WELCOME AT YOUR PLACE, YOU GOT TABLES WITH CHAIRS UPSTAIRS BUT NOT DONT STAIRS. PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES ARE ALSO HUMAN DONT TREAT THEM DIFFERENT..... I NEVER SIT A FOOT AT THIS PLACE AGAIN
Visited this restaurant yesterday. We were disappointed in the quality of the food and the service. Our calamari was not cleaned properly prior to being poorly cooked, leaving sinue like skin on all calamari pieces. The salads appeared day old and reused. The restaurant was not busy as they are limited by the number patrons due to social distancing, so there really is no reason for slow service. This restaurant is so heavily reliant on its great location to the point where they seemingly dont have to put in effort to produce quality.
Terrible service, food is OK.... dirty tables, arrogant & incompetent manager, horrible restaurant. NEVER will I EVER go there again, rather have teeth pulled.
A Food Lovers little paradise. !! Think.. .Chocolate moment !!
Spectacular view of the harbour, food great and friendly staff
I love eating their fish and fried chicken wings
Incredible vegan burger a d chocolate smoothie.Wonderful serviceBeautiful view and ambience.Thank you
Great place. Great food and the atmosphere is awesome.
Lots of birds outside, otherwise a great spot.
A must visit restaurant that never dissapoint.
The nice place for good food and seafood and its a good place to be with family
Great choice of food, large portions, delicious meals presented beautifully, fairly priced. Amazing views from the terrace, great service and staff.
Best restaurant at the waterfront, hands down. Great food, great drinks, great view and atmosphere.
Terrible Terrible, we drove from Hermanus to come and eat for a birthday with our small puppy in a cage.We were told that we cannot come in with the dog. We were the only 4 people in the whole restaurant. There are rules, but for customer service there can be exceptions if you use common sense and want to give good service.Won’t recommend , they were rude as well.
Thee best Seafood In Waterfront! And the only restaurant that closes at 11 during festive season, rather than 9 / 9:30 like the other eating places in waterfront.Service and food is always 💯.It gets quite windy outside at night , so if youre a smoker, rather opt to sit inside and go outside to smoke.
Great pub food. Not much of a vibe during the week during Covid, but still great.
Im not sure whether the waitering staff werent picking up the food on time, or the chef doesnt realise that when serving a platter each item needs to be timed to ensure the entire dish arrives to the table hot.Cold seafood is tough and horrid tasting, and what a patron finds here. The issue with sending back is theyll put it in the microwave, for further rubber effects!I told the waitress, but doubt she told the kitchen.I see bad reviews elsewhere on other websites, the restaurant friends must be fake writing the ones below!!I wont be coming back.
The food and service were amazing.Their food is affordable and so delicious.
Had the seafood platter for two. Fish and prawns was good. Calamari and mussels were cold and rubbery.
Lovely dining experience with awesome live band. The food was amazing and the restaurant applies strict social distancing between tables - really liked that. The seafood is really fresh and I have no hesitation in recommending this place for a fine seafood dining experience. My only criticism is that their dessert isnt the best. In particular, the ice cream that comes with the cheesecake.Their staff is amazing though - especially Tamara who served us. She is lovely.
Good for sea food, stay away from the chicken.Too busy, dont go there if you are in hurry .You will see your waitress twice, when she brings the order and food.
Great restaurant, fun yummy cocktails!!Medium price range.Stunning view and amazing music downstairs.
Always such a nice vibe the view and the service is great
Ever since trying out Quay Four,my partner and myself is absolutely obsessed with this restaurant.Awesome service and even better food, especially the prawns. The atmosphere and live bands adds that special touch of class to make evey visit unforgettable.
As always, Quay never disappoints. We thought that we might be waiting long in line and took a chance. But honestly it was not even 15min worth of queue time before we were seated. We ordered some Steak and Ribs and it was an absolute pleasure. Definitely recommended for people who want some quality food. The food and drinks also came quickly, our waiter was on top of everything. An absolute pleasure to rate this place 5 stars.
Well priced, fresh seafood with a view of Table Mountain and the V&A harbour.
My first time to eat at Quay Four and their food is the worst in the waterfront. I didn’t even want to give any star rating. Firstly their service is very slow, the waiter took long to come and take our order, when the food arrived it was very cold and seemed pre- made and not freshly made. Their onion rings taste like flour mixed with aromat (no onion taste at all). I ordered a full peri-peri Mozambique chicken. The hot chillies were uncooked and just spread on top of the chicken, whilst the chicken itself tasted plain not properly marinated ( it’s like they marinate each chicken when they have only get an order and not over night marinating so the spices really blend into the chicken). My partner had a fish platter and nothing tasted fresh. Everything tested pre- made and bulk cooked with the worst off tasting yellow rice on the side. For a waterfront restaurant this is very disappointing. I will not be eating at Quay Four again. I mentioned my comments to the waiter and he just looked at us with no acknowledgement or apology. We still gave him a good tip because we believe these are hard times and waiters still need to make a living.Worst quality of food but big quantity. The money I spent here went down the drain to a total waste.I WON’T BE EATING AT QUAY FOUR AGAIN!!!!
Zero is Needed here!! The waiter Abandon us after we asked here to give us only 5mins to think about our options. We waited for about 30 mins... requested her again and told her we were ready to order bt She did not come. We were so disappointed.. coz it was my friends birthday too. Worse experience!!
Great food and great vibe. Definitely a must if youre on the V&A waterfront.
The view of the bay and great service is sets the mood. The quality of the food is outstanding and thankfully the menu prices are set for the local clientele. Well done Quay Four for a wonderful experience.
