Peaceful early Sunday morning swimming--not overly crowded so little ones can enjoy confidence while taking swimming lessons - water at a reasonable temperature & clean all over except for the ladies toilets not having a proper cleaning & stench definitely needs attention 🤢🤢🤢for the entry cost one would expect especially the toilets more hygienic & proper cleaning attention🤔🤔🤔

A nice place but needs a serious upgrade. Theres plants growing through the walls, also they allow people to swim in the underwear thats awful and not great. Also the lifeguards are always having conversations amongst each other and not looking after the kids. Must say it has serious potential to be unbelievably beautiful. The bathrooms are awful theyve been the same and need upgrading. Its worth going once and never again.

My kids loved it. They had fun and wouldnt leave the pool without a bribe. The fact that my 11 year old who is a confident swimmer could use the bigger pool and the 7 year old was as happy in the kiddies pool helped to keep us all happy and occupied. The toilets and showers are not very appealing however in the bigger scheme of things it was a minor issue for me.

Dirty place with bird poop all over the benches.Outdated online information and incapable of answering their phone. The baby pool is so deep a 4 year old is unable to stand in there without his/her head being completely submerged in water. The only plus is that its indoor which protects from sun burns, otherwise filthy.

Its a really nice place with a big spacious pool and friendly lifeguards. Theyre also open until late so thats a plus! The only things that could be an issue for some people is that there is quite a bit of chlorine in the water and that the entry fee is R30 per adult. However they are open throughout the year which means swimming in warm water in winter! Would definitely recommend for a family outing.

The only covered public swimming pool in the city bowl.It is affordable and friendly, but unfortunately it is tragically run down. :(Besides the fact that the the facilities could do with a make-over and some investment, it seems like none cares to even do the most basic maintenance work that would just require some good will and a bit of initiative, not money. The water this morning was so cloudy that one could not see the bottom. The showers have been turned off for months, since the peak of the water crisis in 2017, and they have never been turned back on.This means that, if you wanna go swim before work, you will stink of chlorine the whole day... :( And with the water so cloudy, I even wonder whether it is hygienic to swim in there and not being able to rinse off afterwards. It is very sad to see such a precious public resource going to waste. :(

I think this is a very nice place. Very big pool. The fact that its indoors is a bonus. No sunlight to burn your skin and no wind making you cold or blowing sand. You can however go to the back the the pool grounds where you can exit to get some much air and sunlight.

Great place to swim, the pool water is not cold which makes it very enjoyable.I think the best times to visit are during the week for a morning swim before going to work to get that nice workout.

Sh
Review №30

An old building but the pool temperate is always just right. There are no shower facilties due to water restrictions. Best to go for a morning swim when they open as it gets very busy during summer / peak season. They close at 5 but in summer,i think they close at 7pm. Best to call first. As it is enclosed, it smells strongly of chemicals. I wouldnt suggest spending long hours there for kids or asthma sufferers. A quick swim will do. There are City Council life guards on duty and the staff is very friendly and helpful.

Horrible, shocking needs some very serious renovation. Chipped broken tiles, paint peeling off the walls. Turkish baths not working, no showers the complete venue old dull and dingy. Unless you dont have a bath at home you can go there for a weekly bath.Rude male employee at the door.Must of been a nice place 30 years ago but needs some serious renovations.Cant express my disappointment enough, lleft after 5 minutes of arriving there.

This facility has recently turned 100 years old! I bet its still the original paint on the walls though - disgusting! Its such a beautiful building, that can easily be renovated with a few thousand Rands but it seems even the basic maintenance is lacking. Showers still dont work (since 2017) despite water restrictions being lifted recently and ALL the lifeguards are really unprofessional and rude. Dont get me started on the state of the Turkish Baths, its downright creepy and dingy.Fresh paint, scatter some plants around, turn the showers on and hire people who actually want to be there and youll have an amazing facility!

Great place to swim! However the older gentleman who works there (looks after the pool) has been rude to us on two separate occasions - reprimanding us when weve done nothing wrong and talking to us like were children. It really dampened the experience. I hope this matter gets resolved as we were told hes done it to others as well.

To get this message out I had to rate with one star. If I had my way, I wouldnt rate this place at all.Today was my first time at the baths and I was utterly disgusted, my friend had experienced sexual misconduct/invasion of privacy in the ladies changing rooms. I will never step foot in this place again! People are so sick in their heads and City of Cape Town, you need to get proper security at these baths, as it is a public place! It’s pathetic how there was only one security guy on duty. Also, get your Management in order, they need to be more proactive and aware of their surroundings!

Awesome place for family no complaints just an concern as a big bold person, the stairs railing which are being used to enter and excit the pool which is abit loose and wobly when u use it since u not allow to dive every use it and I think its been like that for about 10yrs n more cuz that how long ev been coming to the ficilty and last I can b wrong but more excit n entry place on the seating stands/pavilion due to adults having to bend underneath to be seated on the stand, yet again its just and suggestion n my comment not an complain . But other than that .

Go here three or four times a week. The pool is heated. The pool is 25 meters with a childrens heated pool alongside. There are doors that leads outside to an enclosed area where you can tan. Dressing rooms provide basic facilities. In addition, there are Turkish baths which mean a steam room, a sauna room, and a deep, cold plunge pool. Separate facilities for men and women. R60 to enter for Turkish Baths.
