I absolutely love this place. The staff are as professional as they can come, all of them know exactly what they are talking about; such a wealth of information is available here.. along with all you could possibly need to get from seed to stoned of course. Their online store is also superbly handled - accurately mentions whether items are in stock or not, and never any delays in shipments. Hortishop helped me find my growing style years ago, and I have been a faithful customer ever since. Not once have they disappointed the community. A big thanks to all you guys do for us! Highly recommend a visit to either branch.

Im a customer not a dog. I wont be spoken to like that on the phone. In regards to your response. Google brings up this compnay when the hydroponicsa company is searched as one and the same. Both companies seem to share a website. Both claremont shop and hydrosa appear to be the same company. I only became upset when your staff became short and rude and irrite with me. So when your staff speak to people like that you blame the customer. Well played. Over 10 years of loyalty and thats how i get treated. I will say it again i didnt call to complain. I called to obtian a platform on which to send a video requested by your staff. I was doing the favour asked of me. Manners cost nothing

Drove a fair distance only for the place to be closed 20 minutes before their closing time (noted on online and their signage). But, I was ignored after pressing gate buzzer, & no one answered phone calls. It was clear there was still staff there. Business must be great to lose customers in such a manner. Reading other reviews, a similar theme emerges- so I wonder how sustainabletheir business will be with this poor approach to customer service.

This has to be my favourite horticulture shop in Cape Town. They have everything you need in terms of equipment and products for a small or even relatively large scale grow. What is most important is that they have very educated and knowledgeable staff who can give you accurate information and if you come here often you will learn a lot!

Felt a bit rushed by the staff, item I picked and had at the till was sold online so I couldnt take it. Had to spend extra money for another unit. So not the best experience to be honest

The staff at the Hortishop are knowledgeable and always willing to help with suggestions and any means to assist you with whatever is troubling you. They like to do a question and answer so that they can help and suggest what to try to have success with what might be a small problem. Have been a couple times. They have absolutely everything you need and the prices are great. If you need ANYTHING they got it. The only thing is the staff dont really care too much and wont really give you advice if you ask. Give off a big please buy your stuff and leave so we can go to the back and smoke vibe. but if you know what you want and what you need hortishop is the place to go

Yesterday I went to the Claremont branch And it seemed busy. But there were only 2 customers allowed in the store at a time... I found this To be a bit strange as there were 3 to 4 employees in the same space where we had to be 2.So after arriving with my friends. 3 of us. And wanting to buy a whole grow set up tent light and extraction. I had to wait for 20 min before only 2 of my mates were allowed in. (we also asked permission to enter as 3 as we were from the same house hold. We were told no only 2 at a time... Further more. After waiting for my friends to buy what they wanted. And to finally leave so that my self and the other friend. Now could talk about what we needed. Such as the nutrition and the extraction.Wanting to know the price of the Mars tent. I asked my friend he said he didnt know so I posed the question a bit louder. Hoping one of the 3 shop attendants would answer..What happened next horrified me.The same man that I asked if I could please be inside as we are all 3 house mates. Came to me. And instead of giving me the price I asked for. He told My friend to leave as he wanted the next customer to enter the shop.At what point is it OK to make us wait for other customers. But then to send us out before we have even started shopping I was in the shop for 1 min before my friend was asked to leave.I left the shop immediately. As I have never in my life been disrespected so badly by a shop or the people in it...A sad and lost costomer

Just updated to 5 stars as recent order placed at 9am and delivered to my door by 3pm the same day. Amazing.

Have no idea what I am doing with plants. But the guy who sold me the stuff was probably the most knowledgeable shop assistant ever. He most likely has a degree in horticulture. He took probably 50 minutes to explain everything that I should be doing with the plants that I am trying to grow. Amazing service.

By far the worst customer service I have ever experienced. A few weeks ago I went to buy something I saw online. When I asked the guy behind the counter if they do stock it. Right away he started shouting at me, interrogating me about why I would think they would stock it, etc. and just being rude in general. This is not appropriate behavior. Even if my question was a silly one (which it wasnt), it still would not have justified his behavior. Quickly though a lady, with coffee in her hand, came running to calm down the gentleman. However, she kept drinking throughout the discussion. I understand she might have been on lunch, but you do not sip coffee while helping customers and especially not in such situation.I ended up buying something else and left quickly. Deciding to rather spend my money at a different shop.UPDATE: I have subsequently received good service from Megan and might in future return to give it another try, but for now I will use the online store rather.

Had a grow tent arrive with a tear in the fabric. I called them and they immediately dispatched a replacement tent and notified me that a courier would collect the faulty one the next day. Excellent service, I will definitely be a returning customer!
