Colosseum Luxury Hotel is an outstanding experience. Feels like home away from home. The staff creates a comfortable atmosphere with their friendly and helpful attitude. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Just a few minutes walk away from Canal Walk. Definitely a very nice place to stay when visiting Cape Town.

My wife and I had an awesome, wonderful, romantic experience staying at the Colosseum for our honeymoon and wedding anniversary. The staff organized an anniversary surprise for both my wife and myself. We were offered the executive suite which has a balcony and mountain view. At night the view is so beautiful.Everything was in immaculate condition and service is excellent. I wont mind for another stay for relaxation.

The change of having an in-house restaurant to the Mozambik has proved to be to the detriment of the guest. Breakfast options are limited (+-6 choices in total) with waiting times in excess of 30 minutes before you receive your food). After all that, food arrives missing items and the bacon was ice cold, and soft eggs were hard.Escalated on email to the hotel email address and 36 hrs later have still not received even an acknowledgment of the issue.Skipped the next days fully paid for breakfast to avoid another disappointment.Pity.... Best part of hotel stays are generally the breakfasts to be honest. Stayed at the Protea Stellenbosch earlier in the week and they were flawless with breakfast.Wont be back in a hurry.Also tried all avenues of contacting hotel management and until some colourful language used, only then was feedback given with mention of my wonderful language.... What a joke.

Overall a very good hotel, each room has a kitchenette and a lounge; theres a Woolworths Food store located right next-door which is convenient for stocking up the bar fridge in your room. What needs attention though is maintenance inspections in each room; We had two rooms and only one had a working fridge, there were a few other minor maintenance issues which Im sure will be addressed with regular inspections. Staff were quite friendly. The on-site restaurant served delicious food as well.

From the moment I started with the booking process, everything was perfect. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our room was very nice with a great view. We expected the kids to sleep on a sleeper couch, but they actually had 2 beds already made up for them when we arrived.

Very cozy and spacious. Rooms are big, tv quality not too great, very snowy. Bedding is clean and comfy. Kids loved the huge bath and its really nice for a family weekend away as its close to numerous amenities.

This is a 4 star hotel with guess what, zero bottle openers but one amazing man at front desk came to the room to fetch the bottle so that he can open it for us - Lee Murphy you are a hero in our world - the management is far behind in knowing the customer for sure but they have great staff

Room was clean with big king size bed. Coffee, tea and water is provided. The room has a small fridge, microwave, crockery & cutlery for two. The hotel does not offer activities, such as a pool, etc. Limited TV channels. Plan your activities and transport before you come. If you are planning to spend all your time at the Canal Walk Shopping Centre then this is ideally suited. Breakfast is not included in room fee and paying the extra R110 is not recommended. We found the breakfast to be extremely oily and salty.

Ive never stayed at the hotel but I have been to the Vida, Woolies etc. Honestly, Im just here to say the security guard at the entrance boom is amazing. Super friendly, great at his job, and always makes my day.

Ive been to many hotels but I had the best massage ever at the Colloseum. Breakfast was great. Had a perfect sized kitchen area and lovely spacious room. Service was excellent, my toddler knocked his head and had a small gash... They sent up a bucket of ice. Really appreciated that. Only improvement could be the upkeep of room, there were smelly slippers from the previous guests under our bed!!

I loved this hotel and enjoyed staying there. It has big suites. I get the luxury part of it. Would like to visit again when there is no pandemic

It looks impressive from the road, the security staff was very friendly and helpful, even the lady at the sanitizer desk and receptionist were very friendly. I was expecting a Coloseum - effect on the inside. Nothing like that. Looks dark, old and stuffy, like the inside of an old bioscope. Long dark corridors. It reminded me of the two little girls in the movie, The Shining. My two daughters were holding their hands as they were walking down the corridors. The inside of the hotel room looks a bit cramped, but it was comfortable. The painting on the wall looks smeared, like someone tried cleaning it and then forgot about it. Please more lights

Doesnt feel like much of a 4-star luxury hotel. It definitely appears to promise an experience but underdelivers unfortunatly. I must say, all the staff members are incredibly polite and helpful. No issue there. I booked a Deluxe Suite for one night. The lounge is pretty plain and not as furnished as it could be. The couches arent very comfortable and theyre pretty low. It does have a flat-screen TV but low quality definition. Only about 10 channels (SABC 1/2/3/ e.TV/ a few sports channel/ M-Net movies and a kids channel) - so not a wide selection to choose from. Pretty boring. My room had a mini balcony area. The floor was not cleaned properly there. The bed was nice and comfortable but had a VERY heavy duvet cover - not the most comfortable in hot seasons. The duvet covers/ sheets/ pillow cases were very wrinkly. They probably werent ironed and therefore made the room as a whole not look as polished. I had a big enough kitchen area well supplied with tea/ coffee/ milk/ sugar. Theres a mini--fridge and microwave and basic cutlery and utensils. I had a bathtub and shower in my room. I decided to use the bathtub but was appauled by the fact that the bathwater had a very deep yellow/ orange tint which suggests rust in the water from poorly maintained water pipes. That was very off-putting. The placement of the bath shelf was really bad. It cuts through the mirror so its just awkward for shorter folk. Yes, theres a bigger mirror above the work desk but doesnt have lighting as good as the one by the bathtub. The layout of the entire room is very awkward. Large lounge area not occupying much furniture whereas the bedroom area has very little space. Also, the bath is outside of the bathroom. It may make the room itself appear more luxurious but it would be better and feel more private if it were enclosed like the shower and toilet is within a glass wall. A lot of the things have scratches on them like the telephones/ alarm clock/ little areas on the wall/ basin.As a guest at a hotel, I understand that my expection shall not exceed above a certain point but visiting an accalaimed 4-star luxury hotel, its difficult to not be critical about the big and small things wrong with the hotel rooms. Perhaps it did deliver when it was initially established but the quality may have gone down and hasnt been maintained to remain luxurious beyond the modern ambience of the hotel and its rooms. Even then, the hotel as a whole needs to be renovated. The hallways are long, dark and narrow. Everything needs to be cleaned and polished more. Theres a lot of little things wrong overall that add-up and thats what doesnt make this hotel an exact 4-star and luxurious hotel in my opinion. I was happy to have been told about a limited time special they were having where I got my suite for a discounted price so I didnt want to miss the opporitunity, and I dont regret it. That being said, I personally dont think its worth the full price either way at this moment in time. A lot of things need to get sorted and fixed. This hotel has a lot of potential but unfortunately no standard is being maintained.

Nice hotel. Staff very friendly. Had to get use to the load shedding. Bar onsite. Ne t to a grocery store. 5 minute walk to the mall. Front desk staff was amazing and the help with booking outings. Room service available. I would recommend. Load shedding, is what we had to get use to, other than that very nice and quiet hotel.

Very nice hotel, in beautiful, modern century city and very close to the convention centre and multiple restaurants. Some noteworthy mentions I would say is slug and lettuce, a small little Irish pub, as well as tigers milk(another review coming), for the more main stream folk. The hotel is also close to the main road for pick up and drop off, and as of writing, the rates were really good.

Very clean rooms and good views. Bathroom and shower was in good shape and there were plenty enough peace and quite. Good sound insulation from frequent guests in the hall. Breakfast selection was amazing and well laid out and managed. Northern side view is over canal walk towards Tygerberg and the south side views cover table mountain and the Atlantic pretty well. Situated adjacent to Woolworths which is great for last minute food items.

Lovely hotel friendly staff

I was asked to pay R100 parking, however when I arrived the boom was open? Guests arent excluding from parking? Very confusing and staff didnt really help when I asked PRIOR to leaving about the parking situation. Hotel is great and neat, parking is an issue for me considering there was no ATM in the complex.

Well deserved break

Visited the Colosseum for an office conference. The buffet was AMAZING! the staff friendly and efficient. They were on top of everything from the booking, which by the way, for a full day conference room was very affordable and includes meals, snacks and refreshments.

Staff are very pleasant. The rooms are spacious and clean. The breakfast is also very limited and does not look very neat and well laid out for a 4 star hotel. I found a dead fly in the mushrooms during breakfast and reported it to a waiter who said a manager would get back to me but nobody did. Didnt go back to breakfast for the remainder of my stay after that.

Unknown hotel in our area.Went here for a conference.Big rooms with a lovely queen size bed and bar fridge.It is like your one bedroom flat away from home.Charlotte Rhys amenities a bonus🙌🏻🙌🏻Only thing I woud change is more bottles of water in the fridge and can we get either plunger coffee or Nespresso here?The room service menu was great and we had lovely food with friendly service.Next time we will take the kids😎😎

Spoil yourself at the Colosseum. Greeted by the friendly frontdesk they made me feel special. From the time you step through the revolving the bustling Century City and the frustrating traffic are left behind and you know that you have arrived in paradise. The Decor in the foyer speaks of luxury and you cannot wait to check into the hotel. I walked with anticipation to my room and on opening the door I was transported to what would have been a suite meant for a one of the sirens from the black and white movie era! Thank Colosseum for making me feel special!

Good Location, friendly kitchen staff. Room needs to tending to the fridge did not work and our food went off. The TV in the bed room is not needed as it is so small and also outdated and the reception of the TV is very bad in the room and lounging area. There was a white stain on the couch in the lounging area and the room is not sound proof so we were able to hear the other guests. Also note that there is a long shelf above the bath but this runs in front of a mirror which is not cool. The Wifi is also very slow and keeps connecting and disconnecting so not idea for business.

The hotel has the potential for greatness. Unfortunately there was a general lack of care by many of the staff especially around breakfast.It was a wonderful room but the service really put a downer on the experience. I went for breakfast Early to get to work. And there was no one to make an egg. But the reception staff was always willing to help.I would recommend for a short stay but not extended stay

The rooms are spacious for the most part. If you have a double room, the beds are small and extremely close, however. Breakfast is great and the staff are all very friendly. Easy walk to the mall - great area.
