Just right. We stayed here when it was very busy with an annual bicycle ride. The place is well run and is located within walking distance to the waterfront actives at a very reasonable price. The staff is very helpful. I like the way the rooms are laid out and was impressed with how clean our room was. A very good reasonably priced option close to the waterfront.

Fatima is one of the best staff there but all that can better is to get a smart tv in every room

The staff is very friendly, we stayed here with a 11 month old baby and the camping cot they have is a chelino and very nice and big. We had breakfast every day the staff was very friendly and helpful with assisting and going the extra mile when taking my baby with and also accomadating a baby chair. I struggled with my baby to get housekeeping but the housekeeping lady was very sweet and assisted when I need a few things done with I and the baby in the room. This was a very easy and comfortable stay with a baby and the staff is extremely friendly thank you guys so much.

Never have I had such an amazing “ask” to pls put on my mask, this young lady approached us (Tasneem Hendricks) and gently asked us to put on our masks whilst getting breakfast which was a breath of fresh air - we are so use to people nailing you when you forget and even judging you that something like this that might be small in her world, is top end respect and service - we all can take a page out of her book - City lodge hold on to this one and well done !

The hotel industry has taken a massive hit, and the competition for customers must be extremely difficult with many specials around. Our stay was as good as can be expected. The position of this hotel is probably its best asset. The rest, is good but not overly special.

Best suited for a traveler in Cape Town. Right at the entrance to the V&A precinct..

If your ever looking to be beyond expectations, than City Lodge Waterfront is the place to be. They just don’t do hospitality, they are the sense of hospitality🙌🏽🥂.I haven’t seen my wife in 11months because of the obvious 2020 pandemic🤦🏽‍♂️. They welcomed my wife and I with open arms💕...and oh, btw the views are amazing.

Would highly recommend staying at the City Lodge Hotel V&A. The staff at the reception is always very friendly and are willing to assist you in whichever way they can. The rooms are clean and neat. Enough space to move around and makes you feel like you are at home. The breakfast buffet is definitely a must if you have the time and are looking for a wide variety of fresh produce to eat and try out for breakfast. I keep coming back to this hotel each time I visit the Waterfront. Keep up the great work.

The staff were ever so friendly and the hotel is clean. Breakfast comprises anything you could possibly want at breakfast time - and more! It is only a 15 minute stroll to the V&A Waterfront. I wouldnt hesitate to return and would recommend.

I sat in the foyer waiting on a freind. It was very stylish and staff were very nice. They have a water jug with glasses in the foyer it looked like 🍓 and mint leaves I had a glass divine Ive never tasted anything like it before.

It was comfortable and very conveniently located. Breakfast was very good and the staff were friendly and helpful. We will return and recommend this hotel to other travellers.

Its typically City Lodge with everything as it should be. Well located with a 10 minute walk to the V&A Waterfront. Breakfast was a little disappointing as one may not dish what you wish, food and helpings are dished by the chef. Aside from that, a great stay.

Convenient venue. So easy to navigate to from airport. 1 single right turn from the airport!Staff are super friendly and always up for a joke.In house eating is a bit limited, and they dont offer restaurant vouchers if you are on a full bill back account. Only room service available for off site restaurant menus.

Great service, decent rooms and not expensive at all

Place was really clean which is a definite thumbs-up! However as someone who came all the way from Durban with a swimming costume in my suitcase, I was extremely disappointed to see that the swimming pool was so tiny! Probably a 2 X 2 Square meter pool, definitely not a swimmable pool which makes the pictures on the website very misleading!

We came to see this hotel after recommendation. We are travel agency arranging tours in SA.1) In whole hotel there was not a person to give us a viewing tour.2) then the lie came up: there were suddenly no rooms available, all occupied.Very bad customer experience.DO NOT RECOMMEND

Just all round great experience. The breakfasts are fabulous. The chef catered especially for vegans and all round great service and a wonderful experience.

They could do with a upgrade to the rooms. Give it that modern touch. Otherwise the location of the hotel is very good.

Nice handy location. Still about a 15-20min walk to all the waterfront dock restaurants. Spacious rooms a little old. Need to renovate to remain competitive with other hotels and guest houses. Breakfast was nice. Great omelette. Service is terrible. Lady at reception broke my passport off its spine on the cover after we told her to stop trying to shove it into the case. She didn’t apologise or offer any glue. It was very rude. At the bar I stood there for 7minutes waiting to be served for a drink and there were three people and only one working serving until the other lady and man finally started serving us after we we asking to be served.Bag porters are nice and friendly.

Good stay although long passages of rooms and I was placed near the end of one. Didnt like the smell of cigarette hanging around in the passages the further you got away from the main areas and a slight after smell in the rooms. Otherwise breakfast was good with a great variety and the hotel is clean and the staff are friendly.

Great location in the city centre that allows an early start to beat the Cape Town traffic. The restaurant/cafe is small but has good food and a great choice of beers. Rooms are clean and spacious.

Very good service, great food. While i was there my aircon broke and the fixed it immediatly, would go there again in a heartbeat. Only downfall is they are quite expensive.

I checked in earlier today and cant really say the experience was that great. Other than the GM assisting me a day or two ago, and reservations whom I would easily rate 5 out of 5, the rest is mediocre. The views are excellent but the check-in was horrible. I waited there for at least 10 to 20 minutes, body language, the conversations with one another (staff) and just the ignorance of how they carry themselves out in the presence of guests leaves a lot to be desired. I think the City Lodge Group has grown too big now to worry about the little things in life. They will see this reflect in their profits, bottom line and ultimately the share price. This is a competitive industry and one does not get many chances to rectify the wrong or create a positive impression. And the cherry on the top, the key to my room didnt work when I tried to open the door. When I called them to tell them of this, they asked me to come to reception to rectify the problem. I didnt and insisted they come up to my room with a key that works which I asked the lady who checked me to use to try to get in, and she couldnt! Lets pray the rest of experience gets better!

Great idea if your a local to do a sleep over here when celebrating New years as opposed to driving home. Ideally located where you can Uber/walk to wherever your parties at!

My favourite budget hotel in Cape Town! The rooms are basic but comfortable, but its the location of the hotel that I love most. Easy to get in and out of town, walking distance to the Waterfront and a great running route thats not too far from Beach Road.Their breakfast is also pretty good with a nice selection of the usual breakfast items.The only major disappointment is the fitness centre. Its very basic and not worth the effort.

Fantastic location in walking distance to both the V&A waterfront area as well as to the downtown area.The rooms are spacious and clean, there are plenty of parking spaces available and the area is also safe at night.

What an awesome stay. Its so close to everything so you dont have to travel. Super Clean, quiet rooms and friendly professional staff. Ill be staying here again very soon. Even though its so clean and comfortable, one can easily notice that the hotel interior needs an upgrade. It has very old furniture ,fittings and fixtures. But otherwise Ill still stay here again. The stay was comfortable which is what I think is the main aim. Im not sure if its a thing these days where housekeeping seems a made bed and opts not to change the linen (this seems to be an occurrence in my visits to establishments, a made bed does not or should not be assumed that I dont want clean linen). The staff was warm and friendly, breakfast was ok.

Pity they dont have bars let alone a fridge in the rooms

After our cruise ship was delayed, they found room for us and we were treated so warmly and professionally. Everyone gave us outstanding friendly service but Kerri was outstanding.

Nice enough for good economical stay. Clean, quiet, just what you need. Nothing over the top, just good, honest hospitality. Recommended.
