A home away from home. It gave us as a family the chance to be a little bit more normal, as it afforded us the opprtunity for my adult son to move out - on his request- but not be on his own. Some weekdays he works at a coffee shop and this is fully supported by Alta as they drop and collect. Weekends are still spend with us at home but come Sunday it is all systems go and he wants to go back. No place is as good as home and as parents we know that, however seeing the independence in my son and him taking control over his life in as much as he is able to, gives me peace of mind. And doing it at Alta...well that just helps a little bit more.
I have an intellectually disabled sister at Alta Du Toit After - Care, she is very happy there and well cared for. She mixes with lots of other people staying there, lots of activities for them
They have very affordable and cozy accommodation. Yiu feel at home all the time
Lovely Christmas market that raises funds for the mentally handicapped. They have a tea garden with some really affordable food. A great place to buy gifts.
Alta Du Toit situated in Boston. Very serene area. Unfortunately the security gates not always manned. Takes a while for a response over the intercom. Must visit in open days like bazaars.
Had a wonderful party for my brothers 60th birthday in the new amazing tea garden. What a lovely addition to this once neglected swimming pool area.
Nice and convenient overnight rest for travellers. Excellent service and easy to access with excellent security.
