My niece came for her first experience and a HUGE THANK YOU to the team who made it a memorable experience.The attention to detail is worth the time spent. From the luxury washing treatments through the entire experience was wonderful.I felt like cutting my hair but mine is disappearing.🤣

One star is even too much if I could give zero I would! Incredibly rude and shocking behaviour from owner we have had our hair done all over the world and have NEVER been treated like that before. Owner also admitted that everyone has had covid in the shop. Outdated shop needs to be closed by mall management! Go to Partners Hair Design instead! SHOCKING!

It is unfortunate that you do not get what you pay for. The promise of professionalism and perfection and how clients are treated is not delivered by frank fowden hair salon. I am very disappointed and will most likely not return.

I’ve been a client at this salon for the past four years. The stylists are well trained and professional. They use of the best hair products. My hair hasn’t been in better condition than this before and neither has the styling. The staff are all attentive, well mannered and it is a pleasure to come into a salon that is spotlessly clean. Expect to pay slightly more - but this is on a par with exceptional quality products and staff that are continually trained. Thanks Team Frank Fowden!

I have read the previous bad reviews and want to dispute each one.Paula, is a true GEM! Her cut is fabulous and she does a great job paying attention to every detail. Each time I visit SA I come to Frank /Fowden. Paula has cut my sons hair, my daughters hair as well as my husbands hair.From the gorgeous head massage to the tea offered it all adds to the relaxation of the appointment. One has to expect to pay a little more being at the Waterfront but when one gets excellent service from skilled women who have been doing this for many years, it’s all worth it !Ask for Paula , you will not be disappointed.

When I am on holiday in Cape Town I love to visit the salon. Everone is friendly and they make you feel special. Yasmeen is excellent, and I totally trust her with my hair. Whenever we are on holiday in Cape Town, this is the 1st place I visit. Love it.☺

My experience of Frank Fowden reminded me of that scene in Pretty Woman, when Julia Roberts walks into a high end store and is belittled by the snooty sales women. I asked a very simple question regarding The cost of a particular service and the response I got was both shocking and upsetting. The receptionist thought I needed a lecture on hair care, rolling her eyes at my choice of hair products. After the aggressive and patronising reply, her justification for being rude was “I’m just being honest”. This was then followed by her finally answering my question, which seemed incredibly impudent given the circumstances. In short, that was the first and last time I visit the Frank Fowden hair salon

Far too high prices! the owner is a witch. when they are busy with your hair or nails it becomes more and more expensive. you expect top quality for the money you spend, but you dont get that.

My wife has been a client of this salon since 2004. Yasmine has been a very good and knowledgeable stylist ever since she started attending this salon. This is an upmarket salon, given their location, and thus different to the suburban-type salon, with high-end products and services. My wife always leaves spoiled and pampered which makes me happy!

The ONLY salon I will go to in Cape Town...In the past 12 years, Frank Fowden staff have shown technique, skill and growth in the industry. Last week we had my brothers wedding and these ladies pulled out everything to make my mother and myself look gorgeous. Every time I have my hair done at the hair salon, I walk out feeling glamorous and beautiful. What ever you ask for, they are able to exceed your expectation.

Very welcoming but maybe it was because I bought a 6000 Dyson hairdryer. They looked at me funny when I walked in. Probably because I was a guy. Looks like a nice friendly place though.

Waaaaayyyyy Over Priced. Wash and blow is R485. Theyre over charging...unless the shampoo contains gold flakes or they use caviar conditioner...I would never pay such an exorbitant price for a just a wash n blow.If youre at V&A and want to do your hair... rather go to Partners...Ive never been disappointed with their services & prices are more reasonable.

Very disrespectful to its clients. they hate kids but still take appointment for them, and wait until you show (on time) to send you home with a poor, dishonest, sad pretext. Madam, if you just hate kids and do not want them in your salon, please simply refuse bookings for kids! this would save us time and energy to us all. you just lost your salon 3 clients... at least.

Yasmeen did my hair twice during my stay in CapeTown and Michelle gave me a manicure. Both women were fantastic, very skilled and the service at the salon was outstanding.

I spent several thousand rands and 4 hours of my time for nothing, what a complete disappointment! The owner was terribly rude. What annoyed me the most is that the owner then argued with me, refusing point blank to listen to the fact that I was not at all happy. NEVER AGAIN, exorbitant price, zero listening skills. Sad to say, but Frank Fowden is no longer the salon it was before the death of the lead stylist. Disappointed!

Extremely rude owner/manager. I had phoned to book an appointment for my nails a few days prior (my third time there), only to get to the salon on the day to news that I had never phoned (I showed them my phone call log with their number front and centre) and that someone else was booked. I was shood out of the chair. Not how you treat customers and I wouldnt even recommend this salon to my worst enemy. STAY FAR AWAY!!!

In January I had a French manicure a couple of days before my wedding and the day after it literally started peeling off! I didnt have time to go back so i didnt complain or go back to them. This time I wanted some hair extensions as highlights so I called them to book a consultation and when I got there I was surprised that I had to pay R200 for 5 minutes of their time - I didnt even get a receipt! I have been to many hairdressers all over the world and I have never paid for a consultation! Pure greediness in the end they wanted R7500 more or less for 50 hair extensions ! Anyway they are totally overpriced and as far as Im concerned dont look after their customers so I personally wont be going back there! Good luck

I wish I remembered my hair stylists name. If I can find my business card they gave me, I will update the review. I came in from out of town, after spending a month on the field in the bushveld. My hair was fried from the sun, heat, and stress from processes previous to my trip to South Africa. My boat to Robben Island was canceled that day so we took a trip to the mall. School was starting up as soon as we got back, and I looked a mess. I walked in here, and they took me right away. This was the best haircut I ever received in my life. It cost around R400 for the cut, which is about 35 USD, the average price for an average salon in the US. I also received the split end treatment, which made my hair feel the best it had in months. If it didnt cost me thousands to get to South Africa in the first place, I would be a regular. I highly recommend this shop to anyone, whether your are in town for an extended trip or you live there!

STAY AWAY!!!! Worst hairdresser ive ever been too. The owner is so rude and incapable of running a business. I wanted an ombre and got a patchy dip die instead, horrible horrible terrible hair treatment!! Then i went back to show them what they have done and that i want a refund, the owner blamed it on my shampoo!! The shampoo created a line in my hair?? Wow how stupid are you. She refused to give me a refund. This experience left me R4615 poorer!!! Never go there, please, you WILL regret it.

After having a wash and blow dry I told the stylist I wanted to book for highlights. The owner told me that the stylist cannot do highlights....and refused an appointment with the stylist! What a rude person!! I will never go back there....the owner should learn some manners!

Very embarrassing. Came in with a friend for our reservation and theyd double booked.No one took responsibility, all claiming they werent the ones who took the booking. Showed no customer service at all.As my friend left, I has left sitting through a very uncomfortable 40 minutes...Avoid at all cost.

Ive gotten my haircut here twice and each time they cut it well. I have quite complicated hair and Paula managed to cut it to my liking each time.

By far the worst hair salon I have ever been to! An extremely rude manager and incapable stylist saw to me. My experience was a complete waste of my time and money.

I fixed an appointment the day before with my boyfriend together at the same time. When we arrived, they only had time for my boyfriend but not for me. Very annoying and unfriendly!
