My daughter is now 6 and she loves going to class every week! I am amazed how the coach handle all the kids. They teach them so much more than just self defense. They focus on discipline, respect, confidence and so much more! The coaches are awesome! Highly recommend IronGrip!

Enrolling my 4 year old son at Jiu-Jitsu was the best decision ever. In the beginning he didnt want to go, but they made him feel comfortable and safe and now he loves it. They teach them good values, behavior and attitude. Since my son started 3 months ago, I already see a difference in him. He is very shy boy and have started making new friends at school, makes his bed, cleans his room, helps with packing away the dishes and lately cleaning the bathroom without asking. And the coach is wonderful with the kids! And most of all, my son enjoys it!!!

My 8 year old son has been part of the program for about 2 years. He loves the classes, his coach and the grading system is an enormous motivator to him. Building self confidence and being active in a very professional environment is but a few of the reasons I can recommend Iron Grip to all.!! Thanks IG team you are doing a stellar job.

If ever there was something you could enroll yourself or your child in to learn good discipline, self defense and humanity...Iron Grips Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is definitely the place. Strict discipline, no egos and respect for your peers together with great leadership and comoradery. Best decision! My son (a rather introverted type of person) looks forward to every session, loves the coaching and fellowship.

I am a working mom, and suffer from extreme anxiety. I found that my anxiety and stress has decreased significantly since joining IRON GRIP. Doing Jiu Jitsu really has a lot of benefits: You learn how to defend yourself, it is a fantastic way to relieve stress, build self confidence, you sleep better, and work better. Jiu Jitsu also teaches you to love your body for what it is able to do rather than for what it looks like, and breaks ideas about what women “should” or “shouldn’t” do. I feel stronger mentally and physically. Perhaps the greatest benefit of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu overall is improved heart health, a full body workout for weight loss and fitness, you also improve your flexibility and balance, and gain improved focus and concentration. I would highly recommend IRON GRIP!

Did olympic wrestling in high school, but couldnt find a club in my area with flexible hours. Iron grip opend up a whole new world for me. Refreshing some of my rusty grappling and teaching me new techniques thats honestly good for people all ages and sizes. Trust me when I say there is no other sport where they purposefully teach you how to break someones shoulder as if its a normal occurrence. The coaches are really good at helping other people who havent done any martial arts before and experienced enough to adapt coaching styles for those who need specific instruction to fully understand a new concept explained. With Covid-19 on the loose there is now an app that helps you to stay updated with classes missed with videos that can help you, or just help refresh your memory if you forgot something.Would recommend Iron Grip to anyone willing to try something new and not scared to struggle for the first 2 weeks. You learn life skills that you never know you would have wanted to know up until the day comes.

Everyone searches for a purpose/goal in life. While searching and carving out your own path, why not do it with the Iron Grip family by your side.Ive been part of the club for 7 months. My reason for joining was to better understand and gauge my own physical and mental ability. Only to find out that it would just be the start. You will first be tested on your consistency. Consistency is what stands out for me. If you are consistant then you have fought 50% of what others have not even dared to start. You will be tested/taught in your consistency, value of repetition, humility, simultaneous breakdown of your ego and building of confidence in yourself, respect for others(family/friends/club family/new members/strangers) and the ability to breathe under pressure. There are many reasons for anyone to start Jiu Jitsu, everyone finds their own way, but I cant think of a better place to start your journey than with my Iron Grip Club and its family.Oss

We have been part of the Iron Grip family for 2 years now. My son experience a bully at school and had a very low self esteem. In less than a year he transformed into a confident young boy. At Iron Grip they do not teach you child how to fight. They teach them how to defend themselves, respect themselves and the people around them and that hard work pays off.

How I started Jiu-Jitsu…Just over a year ago my wife and I wanted our son to start wrestling. The classes comprised of all age groups from about 4 to 21, he was turning 4 at the time, and although they tried very hard it just felt like he got lost between all of the kids. We also have a daughter but we did not want her to wrestle, she was 7 at the time. We then took both our kids to the nearest Jiu-Jitsu School (Irongrip) to attend a free class to see what it was about and if they would enjoy it. The reason we ended up taking my daughter to class as well was the fact that Jiu-Jitsu focusses heavily on self-defence from the ground, it wasn’t just wrestling (i.e. overpower your opponent) it was more focused on technique so that a smaller/weaker opponent can beat a bigger/stronger opponent. How do I get my aggressor to submit / give up, instead of how can I pin his shoulders to the ground. Both my kids ended up loving it, my daughter even more so than my son. They are still doing it and loving it. The classes have around 10 kids in them with between 2 to 3 coaches, so the kids do not get lost in class but get focused attention instead. Jiu Jitsu is by far the best out-of-school activity that my daughter has done (and she’s done most of them). Her confidence has gone from 1 out of 10 to 8.How did I start? I wanted to be a part of their Jiu Jitsu journey and felt like I did not know enough about it to be helpful to them. So I enrolled (not that parents need to), but I did…I was a bit apprehensive as I was 34 and have never done any martial arts. Apart from about three Judo classes when I was 9 years old. I also didn’t want to sign up and pay good money just to get beat up by a bunch of strangers. It ended up not being the case. The classes are split up into Fundamentals and Advanced. As a beginner I was only allowed to attend the Fundamentals classes, it comprised of performing techniques on a training partner and no sparring. Only when you want to and the coaches feel you are ready are you allowed to take part in the Advanced classes, where sparring takes place. It’s been almost 13 months and I’m addicted. Made a bunch of new friends and am a healthier person overall. I weighed in at 113kg in December 2016 with high blood pressure. I now weigh 105kg with normal blood pressure. When talking to friends who want to know more about Jiu-Jitsu, in terms of exercise, I often compare it to going to the gym. I’ve been going to the gym on and off for years. The problem is that when you stop you lose everything and have to restart from zero. You lose everything you’ve worked so hard for. Although the same might be true of Jiu-Jitsu, from a fitness perspective, you still obtain a vast amount of self-defence knowledge that no one can take away from you.I have no intention of stopping anytime soon and it’s all thanks to the coaching staff at Irongrip Martial Arts. They are constantly seeking ways to improve not only the classes but the students as well.PS My kids and I enjoy it so much that my wife joined the women’s only Jiu-Jitsu class.
